Their album, "British Steel", was a monumental album and there wasn't really a bad song on it! I got into JP on their 1978 "Stained Class" and "Hell Bent For Leather" albums....and have had a 43 year Judas Priest addiction ever since!
Please please please - listen to Luke Kelly singing Scorn Not his Simplicity. The tv appearance version. A bit about the song - written by Phil Coulter who wrote it to show the love for his own disabled son. Knowing how personal it was to him he gave the song to Luke Kelly to sing - lucky for us he recorded it onto an album. Even more lucky for us he never once sang the song at a concert the only footage of him singing it is from the tv show. The passion in his vocals and body language along with the lyrics are heart melting. I know it’s a very long shot hoping you’ll react to it but I can live in hope.
Went to Judas Priest concert early 80’s I’ve seen some rock bands but these were definitely the loudest both me and my brother had ever heard partially deaf for 3 days and loved it haha cheers for playing must admit diamonds and rust my all time favourite from them x
One of the most recognisable riffs in all metaldom! Always reminds me of the Beavis and Butthead dog wash episode 🤣 Anyways, on the subject of crime and punishment, here's one I've been meaning to share with you. I highly recommend pulling up the lyrics while listening to this song. This one is guaranteed to give you the chills. Here's Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds- the Mercy Seat 💀 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8RrS7P6UTKA.html
Hi Cat! I'm new to your channel, and I'm loving it so far! As a UK GenX is like to suggest some artists/groups who may you not have heard of in the USA. First up I'd suggest Toyah. Songs to look out for are: It's a Mystery, Don't fall in love, and her cover of These boots are made for walking. She has a 'unique' voice 😉 I hope you try her out. Thanks for giving all the songs you react to the airtime they so richly deserve. Your not at hearing them is infectious 😀 Keep on being you 😁
Great stuff, this. A rock song that appealed to the pop fraternity. And a track that is so much more accessible than a lot of the early rock deliveries. Won't deny I was a pop fan during my early youth, only when I turned 16 as Sigue Sigue Sputnik assaulted the airwaves did I come of musical age and have my epiphany. I did a lot of backtracking for songs and styles I should've enjoyed first time around, rock now a major source of enjoyment. A headbangers ball, for sure!
Are you a fan of Talking Heads? The live version of "Girlfriend is Better" from _Stop Making Sense_ is amazing. Check out that suit! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9r7X3f2gFz4.html
