that's why Brady threw tons of quick out route to his receivers. The middle of the field is to be respected if they got hard hitting linebackers there. Usually throw to the middle of the field if there's only one linebacker in coverage.

@Afroman792
@Afroman792 5 месяцев назад
@@nyceaim3196 it is not the job of the defense to allow the offense to complete the pass... in fact, it is the opposite. The reason for a lot of bad defense in todays NFL is the fact that they have to play with one hand and hope the offense messes up more so than forcing those errors.
@nyceaim3196

@@Afroman792 their not as restricted as media wants you to believe 🤣 the problem with this hit is he’s in MID AIR and that when the defender wanted to make his hit in the NECK. That’s never been acceptable and it will never be. The fact that it’s even an argument is disgusting. I will never blame a QB for a safety not being disciplined, we’ve seen for many many many years this exact catch happens and the defender slows up and jumps over because there’s no point in trying to end someone’s career because you’re not playing a good game and they are. It’s down right dumb and he deserves everything that suspension gives him no pay and no play. It’s like blaming Jusuf Nurkic for draymond hitting him because draymond was just trying to get open. I like seeing hard hits, I don't like seeing dangerous hits that could leave dudes paralyzed. There's a difference. But Brady is right, QBS need to take some accountability for things like this. I mean it was just always understood, you're taking a big chance throwing over the middle of the field, that's where the safeties and linebackers make their money and there used to be so many big hitters who could do serious damage to you if you did it. Ray Lewis. Brian Dawkins. Ronnie Lott. Those type of guys. So if you're gonna put a ball out there, it's gotta be in the numbers, so your guy has a chance to make a clean catch and continue momentum in the direction of travel OR he can make a possession catch and give himself to the ground to avoid a hit. It's just the nature of these routes over the middle of the field. Crossing routes. Dig routes. Posts. Etc. By the time the ball is on them, both the receiver and defender in the area are up to full speed trying to play the ball. When they collide, sparks fly usually lol. I don't wanna see the sport continue devolving into two hand touch but I don't wanna see needless injuries either. I think the league is trying it's best to find that balance. The aspect of it that annoys me is that the offensive players are already getting a lot of advantages over the defense, and it feels a bit one sided. Lock down, physical defense is a thing of beauty and my favorite thing to watch in football.

“protect yourself at all times”. tom is right. it’s the offensive players job to protect himself. not saying this hit wasn’t dangerous because it was but i don’t think all the blame should be on the defensive player. in live action, in a matter of seconds you have to react and tackle someone, sometimes players will get hit in the head and that’s just the nature of the game. you can’t expect a defensive player to be able to perfectly tackle someone every single time. it’s unrealistic. if that’s the case, they will need to play at jogging speed so things don’t happen so quickly and players can react to different movements.

That's something you learn even in HS. Although it's also on coaching, you run more hooks, quick outs, posts. Slants are great but if they are too strong inside and the QB can't hit them on point you can't do them. Also you'll see the best QBs often throw low, the WR goes to the ground where they aren't eating a hit, just getting touched down. They do that precisely because they don't want their WRs eating a hit. Where else is this defender supposed to hit? You're also taught to hit hard because it can break up the pass, causing an incompletion or fumble.
@TheRayzerBandit
@TheRayzerBandit 5 месяцев назад
You can' hit the receiver hard to knock the ball out when your only area to hit is his head or neck, period. That has been outlawed in the game for an entire generation now. Hit a player in the head, you are gone. If the defender can't make a play on the ball and has no where else to hit the receiver besides his head, then you simply got beat. The longevity of the sport has to hold that ruling for the sake of the players wellbeing after the sport. You can call people soft all you want, but allowing those types of hits cause too much long term damage and will prevent future talent from entering the league due to children being prevented from playing the sport.

I agree with Brady. We need better QBs (a farm league sponsored by the NFL would really help). However, as a former rugby player, I will never understand why NFL players are SCARED to make clean, safer and more effective wrap tackles even with all that armor on. It makes no sense to me. How to make a wrap tackle. (1) Move your head away from the target. (2) Use your shoulder to make contact with the target. Of course, you use the shoulder with the biggest angle with your head as it is turned away from the target. (3) Wrap your arms around your target. (4) Drive your target to the ground.

7:00. It's ridiculous that football has changed so that a defensive player has to protect the offensive player receiving the ball. That needs to be on the quarterback. That's what made QBs elite. Now a QB can chuck a ball down the field and get a PI or poorly place the ball and get an unnecessary roughness call. Like Brady has said, it's a reward for poor QB play and it needs to stop. Football is made up of 3 sides; offense, defense, and special teams. Over the years, the rules have been changed to favor and empower offense to shine without worry. Special teams is now primed to allow more touchbacks and defenses can't do much without getting penalized.

If you understand how the nflpa and fines work you’d know most fines are rescinded or reduced quite frequently. They’ve rescinded fines for players faking injuries, and players using their helmet and being fined for illegal use of helmet have had fines revoked. NFLPA appeals benefit players immensely. They also offer watching training videos or coaching to reduce or revoke fines. The fines being revoked aren’t admitting the nfl was wrong. The appeals are heard by two former players and a hearing officer selected by nfl. Lol

Someone needs to explain to me how Kazee is supposed to tackle a guy who is diving for the ball, and if he doesn't get hit, Pittman Jr. makes that catch. Ultimately, I don't blame the league; I blame the players. One thing I know about any company, they don't like to lose money, and when the older players started suing the NFL, you better believe the NFL was going to take some of these hits out of the game. But, again, how is Kazee or any other defender supposed to dislodge the receiver and the football? That used to be part of the game, but that is quickly becoming officiated out of the league.

Kazee had a clear opportunity to try and punch/swat at the ball to knock it out as Pittman only had the ball in his outstretched hands. Going in for a player separation hit when you only have their head to hit is not allowed anymore and hasn't been allowed for over a decade now. If the only option a defender has is to make that hit or let him catch it, by rule he has to choose the later. That play simply beat their coverage. Allowing those types of hits hurts the game more than it does help, especially in the long run, and in spite of these rules being implemented the game continues to gain viewers and fans every single year.
