I thought Joaquin Phoenix was reviewing Hozier at first. Glad Work Song is finally getting the recognition it deserves

Wow, that is, LITERALLY, the first time I've been compared to Joaquin Phoenix, which means Joaquin Phoenix must have really let himself go lately. 😅 I really enjoyed Work Song! I've got a few more Hozier songs in the queue but I'm holding off on them for right now just because I don't want to over-flood the market, so to speak, with Hozier stuff.

YUS! The kids are alright indeed! I'm definitely a Hozier fan now thanks to my friend, and HOPEFULLY will get back to more from him soon! This was an outlying case, I accidentally had recorded the music from the track on the same track as my mic, so I couldn't separate them or independently adjust their volumes. I've since fixed that in subsequent recordings, but like with all reaction stuff, you can only have one first reaction, so I couldn't go back and re-react for a first time.

Still my favorite song by him, due to the same brainworms that have had me obsessed with stuff like 'the Crow' since I was 14 or so and the poem 'the Highwayman' from like age 8-14. The lines about death not going to keep him from his love are like a drug for me.

Yeah, Hozier grew up Catholic. And then converted to Quakerism at some point. But his music is very deeply inspired by gospel and blues and rock. He was in choir as a kid. And quite often does have themes of religion in his music.... He doesn't consider himself a religious person now, as far as I know as he does have a couple of songs critisizing religion. But he does have a lot of gospel and blues vibes in his discography.
