Justyburger I will tell you what's wrong with people..they suck.. not all but most. Always looking out for themselves and screw the next guy. We live in a world of very selfish people who only see themselves as being worthy
@@meljohnson1478 the logical me, says the faster you get people out, the more people there are to help dig the rest out. At least uncover the person's face and one arm, so they can do the rest. When saving lives is the challenge, there should be no luxury of picking and choosing who you save.
@@Justyburger well you are not only logical but you are a good human being too. If I didn't get buried I would be digging like a crazy person to try to get the others who were trapped out. And I agree with the picking and choosing part..i wouldn't dig out this one or that one first..I would just be doing my best and digging away wherever somebody was trapped
wow! one has to see this to fully understand how powerful and devastating these events are. a few seconds is all it takes to take your breath away and bury your very life. it all happens so fast...
Most important thing to remember is try to wave your arms as much as possible. If you are buried that might have made a pocket of air for you to breathe in.
They do hit again. It isn't uncommon for a slab to slide that's higher on the hill or in rare cases, a slide from deeper in the snow base. Have you ever skied or did any type of mountaineering before making this comment?
Subsequent avalanches actually have a name, they’re called hang fires, that’s why before ever starting an avalanche rescue it’s important to ensure your safety first, no point in diving into the debris field only for you too to be covered by more snow.
