She's more concerned about how it'll make HER look as a parent than she is about her daughter's physical/mental wellbeing & her grandson's life. My parents are very much like this in the level of delusion they allow themselves to reside in! I can imagine she asked alexee if she was pregnant, hoping the answer was no but knowing it was yes(how could you not). Even tho she knew alexee was pregnant, her mom accepted alexee's version of 'the truth' bc her daughter NOT being pregnant @ 19 makes her look like a better mom.

But this little wench killed her kid. The autopsy even stated that the baby has oxygen in his lungs debunking her stupid idea that he was a stillborn. We need help with our teen runaway daughter. This has been going on since 2019 now she is runaway pregnant about to give birth and refuses to go to the hospital. Refuses to come back home is blaming everybody and won’t even call 911 hasn’t even had an ultrasound and it seems like she is attempting to hurt the baby and hurt her self. We have notified the police we have notified top of the services we have notified our lawyers we have notified the runaway hotline, the nurses hotline, and nobody is able to give us good counsel on how to help the situation And I tell her it’s not right what she’s doing. I tell her that we can transport her to the hospital. I urge her I play with her every day, and she is very angry and upset, and is always threatening us and being mean and evil, and blaming everyone for her decisions, even though we have been helping her and catering to her, she still wants to choose to do drugs, and be on the streets and continue to be a runaway in a dropout and refuses to take any accountability and it’s not right for her to show up to the doctor last minute and it’s not right she’s even thinking about giving birth on her own. She googles everything and thinks everything on Google is the holy Grail the Bible the answer to all any suggestions please thank you. It seems as though she came from a household where abstinence was the only thing acceptable, from a state with minimal sex Ed and lived in a more rural area where access to free/subsidized contraception or something like a planned parenthood would likely be impossible. May not even be accessible in large urban centres in that state. Had the mother, daughter and/or school had a more open policy about talking about sex this may have been able to be prevented.

That’s ridiculous. The girl was taking prescription diet pills and she wrapped that baby tight. I disagree. I worked OB/gyn for 7 years. She was in an ER and had her baby wrapped and hid it in the bathroom. Those drugs did not kill that baby she did. The baby may have been grunting and not crying but it was breathing when she wrapped it in plastic and put it in the bottom of the trash can and hid it. Women use heroin and other drugs for their entire pregnancy and their babies live, why because their mother doesn’t suffocate them. You can absolutely get morphine in labor and those other meds so close to delivery wouldn’t have killed that baby.

Completely agree! I'm not a medical professional but I am a mom. During one of my pregnancies I was in an accident that broke my ulna (compound) and fractured/dislocated my radial head. I received multiple doses of morphine by paramedics and the ER. Received ketamine at the ER before transferred to shock trauma to try to reset and clean my arm out as best as they could. Got to shock trauma, they gave me fentanyl. Next morning, went under general anesthesia for surgery and was prescribed oxycodone as apart of the recovery. The ONLY concern the doctors had with my pregnancy was the anti clotting medication I was to take after surgery. They did not want me taking asprin and prescribed a shot (can’t remember the name) instead to protect my unborn baby. Morphine did not kill her baby, there's no way. And from my experience birthing babies, there is a good bit of fluid in newborn airways that the medical staff suctions out with the blue bulb. That right there explains why he wasn't crying full force.

The multiple doses of muscle relaxers she was given flexeril, IV morphine within the hour of delivery. There is NO way NONE any jury can conclude that she murdered her baby when her intent was going to the EMERGENCY room for CARE and these were all the findings. Standards of care and protocols were not followed. People seems to think that asphyxiation needed to involve physical act of suffocation. If she didn’t believe/think/know she was pregnant, and some point during her time in the bathroom she most definitely knew she had just given birth. She never once accepted or asked for help during the numerous times staff or her mom knocked on the bathroom door to check on her, didn’t pull the emergency cord, and only exited when she was told they were going to get the key to open the door if she didn’t open it… and then proceeded to act like nothing happened and she was just on her period. Her mom is also part of the problem if she felt she had to hide her pregnancy and lie about it, and this is all the more reason why any female of birthing age & suspected to be pregnant that is coming into a hospital with another person that they should be separated so that the patient has the opportunity to be honest without another person hovering over them. That other person could be an abductor, trafficker, pimp… or in this case, an overbearing helicopter parent.

It just amazes me how people act like this girl was 10 years old! She was 19 and should be held responsible for her actions! Just because Mom acts like she’s a child doesn’t mean the rest of the world should treat her like one in the “real world”! It’s called ACCOUNTABILITY and Alexee should be made to come to terms with its meaning….ASAP!! Also, Alexee had the ability to push the call button in the bathroom at ANY time! The nurses, not only told her to several times, they also came and checked on her several times….even her mother did! Not ONCE did she give anyone a hint that something was wrong! In fact, the nurses had to threaten her with getting staff to bring a key to open the door! So, even if you want to go down the road that this hospital and this poor Dr. and nurses “did something wrong”, Alexee WAS AT A FREEKING HOSPITAL, with people right there WILLING and ABLE to help her, IF she let them! If, in fact, that precious baby was having problems breathing, ALL she literally had to do was PUSH A BUTTON…..barely raise her voice and say “help” and staff would have literally taken A STEP right inside the door! This whole situation was sad and more importantly ALEXEE’S fault and I absolutely hope she is convicted and sentenced…PERIOD!! There have been many babies, unfortunately, born with cocaine, meth, etc., in their systems and live everyday….WHY?!? Because they DON’T put their babies in trash bags, tightly tie the bag shut and throw them in the 🗑 trash can, for starters!! Oh, and then go back to their hospital room and act as if it was an uneventful moment! 🙄 Anyway, I also feel that to file a lawsuit against this hospital and these people that tried their best to help Alexee, is a HUGE slap in the face and yet another fact pointing to the REAL issue I stated earlier, which is Alexee NOT taking ACCOUNTABILITY and I believe that falls directly at the mother’s 👣 feet! 🤷🏽‍♀️

When she first got there, she not only told the hospital that she wasn't pregnant, but also that she had never had sex. That should clear the hospital of any wrongdoing. That is on her. She is 19 and is not a child. At 19, she should take responsibility for her actions. Double bagging the baby in plastic bags was tantamount to hiding a corpse and she should at least be charged with that as a secondary charge. Considering Alexi lives in a state where third-trimester abortions are legal for a full-term healthy pregnancy for any reason so I am not surprised this young person does not value the life of a precious baby hearing diatribes like "My Body My Choice" or "It's just a clump of cells". I am horrified by Alexi's actions but not surprised...I am however surprised that so many people are outraged at what a troubled teenager did but have zero opinion about the fact that full-term healthy pregnancies are brutally extracted by Doctors in this very hospital every day.

I don't think this civil case will go far. As a person who has been in the medical field for 20 years, approximately 16 of those dealing in pregnancy related care and labor and delivery, I did wonder why with a positive pregnancy test, back pain, and an abdomen as gravid as hers was (in the pictures that were later released) why none of the staff members performed a vaginal exam on her or evaluated her for labor before she was allowed to go to the bathroom. All of those details plus an urge to go to the bathroom can be signs of impending delivery. However, she was in the ER so maybe their thought process was a little different than that of someone who has OB experience, especially if they were trying to decide how to approach the patient and the family since she was denying having sex. Either way, Alexee's actions are her own. She had a choice. The autopsy, according to reports, shows the baby was alive at birth. In addition to this, the medications given to her at this ER visit are common medications given for her symptoms in pregnancy (Morphine, Ondansetron (Zofran), Sodium Chloride (Saline- can be either for IV hydration or to flush the IV)). Morphine is not necessarily a common medication to be given in labor, however, other pain medications such as Stadol are given especially if you want to manage pain in those that are either early in labor or want pain control while avoiding an epidural. Even if Morphine is not a medication given in labor, it would not be expected that the dose(s) given would caused the death of the baby. Respiratory depression if given close to delivery, possibly. But if Alexee were concerned about this, she could have alerted someone so the baby could have been resuscitated. I don't know why she acted in the way she did. More will come out during the trial. I can find it within me to feel for her because her she made a horrible choice and I can't understand why (I cannot relate to her state of mind). I can also be upset that she still hasn't found the courage to take responsibility for her actions. And I can also be devastated that the baby lost their life because of her poor choices. I will continue to follow the story.

I am of the tune that feel standards of care and protocol may have not been followed here and there may be negligence. She was admitted at 1205. 1st muscle relaxer given at 1218. 1228 More muscle relaxers given like flexiril and medications you mentioned like IV morphine, IV zofran, NSAIDS. Her pregnancy is confirmed at 1251. At this point, they gave many C CLASS drugs and was presenting with laboring signs and she wasn't ordered monitored, no cervical check. She is highly medicated within that span of 45 minutes. Bare with me here.....At 0139: 1 and a half hours after hospital staff assumed care of the patient, 50 minutes after a confirmed pregnancy test, an hour and 20 minutes after muscle relaxing, respiratory depressing, mind altering medications were administered, She asks to go to the bathroom. Staff remove her IV and allow her to go the bathroom, UNattended. Unsupervised. UNsupported. She went to the hospital for care. They know she is pregnant, in severe pain, on numerous altering medications that carry risks to her and her baby and medical professionals know this in relations to hospital policies, and they left a 19 year old laboring alone in a bathroom locked. I wonder if she had ever been in a hospital before? Call bell? Stress response? As far as a jury trial and a conviction of her actions, IMO, I don't think she will be found guilty. The baby was born Flu A, FLU B, SARS, Covid 19 and morphine in his system. He was very sick and has respiratory depressants in his system. But, they were in a hospital and they may have been able to save him there. I too can't explain her behaviors and I don't buy into the media's portrayal of how she is coping or feeling. Media ran with this story porn. I am interested in her psychosocial dynamics. I found it interesting she still got her period monthly, was taking weight loss drugs as she only gained 10-15 pounds. I don't know, maybe she didn't really believe she was pregnant, even though she knew she was having sex bc she was on birth control and had been taking it. She lied in the exam room with her Mom in there saying she was a virgin, that doesn't shock me at all. I have alcoholics come in with delirium tremens saying they only drink MAYBE a beer a day and their partner states they drink a fifth of vodka for breakfast daily. I mean, I know you get it working in the field. I too will follow this care closely and am looking forward to reading all the objective information as it is disclosed. But, I think there were a lot of failures across the board here honestly that led to a very sad outcome.

I'm very interested in your thoughts on the defense strategy. I'm fully disgusted with the defendant, her mom, and the defense attorney who all see rather evil to me in taking zero responsibility for the death of her baby and blaming the hospital 100%. I do believe she deserves the best defense, but this is not a defense I can in good conscience approve of. I do understand that morality and legality are two different things. However, I believe that the two should have a strong concurrence and compliment one another. To blame the hospital, doctors and nurses is dispicable given both her age and her clear signs of being pregnant long before that fateful day in which she decided to kill her son because "nothing was crying." If she's smart enough to figure out how to gave sex, she's smart enough to figure out that she's pregnant. Throwing a baby away in the trash and concealing it shows signs of knowledge and conscience for her actions.

You know what else was in the baby's lungs? FLU A and Flu B, SARS, and COVID-19 and you know what medications affected his muscles and prevented him from breathing? The multiple doses of muscle relaxers she was given flexeril, IV morphine within the hour of delivery. There is NO way NONE any jury can conclude that she murdered her baby when her intent was going to the EMERGENCY room for CARE and these were all the findings. Standards of care and protocols were not followed. She was left unsupervised, unmonitored, uncared for when they let a heavily medicated, known laboring teen leave the room to go to the bathroom ALONE in a HOSPITAL where she went FOR CARE. That is negligent.

You can be given pain medication when pregnant! I had surgery at 30 weeks gestation and took pain medication until I delivered at 37 weeks. It was a therapeutic level of morphine. There are babies who need to be “encouraged” to breathe. There was a heartbeat. She was in a hospital. We are raising a generation of women who look at a pregnancy/baby as disposable when not convenient. That baby boy’s life was just as valuable as mine, yours and Alexee’s. He deserved a chance to live. He did not deserve to be wrapped in plastic and thrown away like garbage. It’s just disturbing on so many levels.

She deliberately wore baggy clothes, refute to be touched and even denied having sex more so being pregnant so how would the hospital staff know. The lawyer says the baby has air because they tried to resuscitate but the nurse in charge and the Dr say they didn't do CPR or anything to resuscitate because he was gone and it would have tainted the evidence that could be found in authopsy. She deliberately tried to clean up, tear the umbilical cord like "sting cheese" according to a nurse who saw it and she deliberately put the body inside a trashbag and wrapped it in a way that is obviously intentional going an extra step to cover him with other trashbags on top and fixing a new bag on the trashcan. I was an Emergency nurse x40 years. A priority when a patient presents with pain is to treat the pain while simultaneously figuring out the cause of the pain. As medical professionals we rely on the patient, family, friends, paramedics & law enforcement to provide a medical history & circumstances causing a patient to need emergency treatment. We don't have the skills to determine a diagnose by simply "observing" & examining a patient. I find it interesting that the entire time Alexee was on the gurney (before & after giving birth) she sat with both of her legs bent at her knees & covering her lower abdomen. Allegedly her friends knew she was pregnant. What's sad is that neither she or her b/f felt like they could tell their parents about her unplanned pregnancy until after the newborn was deceased.
