Fashion designer and model Georgia Pratt lays bears how she’s overcome her insecurities about her self-described “massive boobs” and how she’s learned to be comfortable with them in the face of the predatory male gaze. Instead of being silenced by our culture’s exclusive and toxic beauty norms, Georgia has learned to express and accept her true self and is a role model for all girls.
Georgia’s What's Underneath episode was made possible by Olìe Biologique, the skincare brand whose essential facial oil blends are all you need to amplify your own authentic beauty, no matter your age, body type, ethnicity or personality.
As a part of our partnership, Georgia made a limited-edition body oil that embodies her individuality.

As a guy, I've learned A LOT about women from this series... really mind opening and it's altered my perspective in the greatest way possible.

+Selin Longmire I've watched everyone and the stories always open my mind to a unique perspective ... As a black hetero male in the US... There are things that I'm privy to and others that aren't on my radar due my gender and place in the world ... This offers the kind of education that a lot of us on the male side of the equation need to see...
@LB-uf4ic
@LB-uf4ic 8 лет назад
+Ravenous King Just out of curiosity, would you say that being a racial minority makes it easier to understand other types of minorities? I'm asking because I've found that my experiences as a woman, and in particular how other people (men) don't seem to understand them, has made me more open and understanding of the experiences and problems of racial minorities, homosexuals, transgendered people, etc. I mean, I'm not saying I know what it's like, but I am saying that I know what it's like to not have people understand the problems, and that makes me way more empathetic.
@mikebeon2539
@mikebeon2539 8 лет назад
+That Girl good question and to be quite honest it does allow me to be empathic towards other minorities and I take pride in having friends of almost every shade on this planet but there is still a divide amongst us.. Some groups feel superior to others and as crazy as it sounds , esp since we've all had to claw our away past our own personal barriers, there's an inequality that still plagues us. Those caught in our own diasporas should do more to understand each other but that in itself seems to be an arduous process.

When she talked about not finding a swimsuit that would fit her I wanted to cry because this is my issue every single summer. My breasts aren't even that big, yet it seems 90% of the swimsuits are made for women with barely any. My mom doesn't care how much they cost if I find one that fits me and makes me feel comfortable she's always like 'I'll buy it, don't worry about the money, you finally found one that fits you well.' I just love seeing people talking about the same issues that I go through instead of hearing stories about one type of women over and over again. Representation is beautiful.

I have never been comfortable with my boobs. All my life I have hated my body because of the attention I have gotten and what men expected me to be like because of it. I was sent home from school in third grade with a note from the principal, my mother was ordered to purchase me a bra! I'm 66 yrs. old now and I rarely even wear a bra. I`m 28 and just recently stopped wearing push up bras, cause I am finally comfortable enough with my body. I used to be so uncomfortable thinking people could see through my shirt that my boobs were not the same size and very small compared to my butt (It@s one thing having small boobs if you`re skinny, but in my case- I am a classic pear shape, big butt and no boobs). I feel so comfortable wearing just a simple wireless bra. would be unthinkable a few years back, but I changed a lot after I got married. my husband has seen all of me and his love for me hasn`t changed, which in turn helped me to accept myself too

This is really interesting. I used to be one of the stereotype guys who love large breasts but really only in an aesthetic way. I never really thought about how it might be for the women who have large breasts. Or small breasts for that matter. I have started trying to think about things critically, trying to get past aesthetics and first impressions to see the person rather than the appearance. The body is part of the person and the main thing people see but there is so much more to it than that.

To be fair don’t be too hard on yourself. A lot of it is hormones. Testosterone raises libido and also can make one more sexually visual. If you were on HRT estrogen you wouldn’t be attracted to women the same way you are now.

+Nick Cage oy. Haha I would rather not argue with someone as ignorant as you, but this is RU-vid and I'm only human. I'm so glad to see that my comment resonated with these viewers. 1) You're not a woman so you could NEVER understand the societal pressure we go through to be considered "beautiful" 2) personally I'm 5'8 and a size 12. not obese. but definitely curvy and not "fit". I love my body. everyone should love their body. 3) I'm 20 soon to be 21. I know of tons of guys that are attracted to me, and guys that are attracted to much larger women and are not chubby chasers. So, speak for yourself man. In my comment I was referencing 19-23 year old guys, versus creepy guys who approach me that are 2 or 3 times my age. A musing.

Huge flashback this gave me. I used to a have large G cup. I had breast re-construction last year and now I have D-cup. Surgery was the best decision of my life. Before that I had had back pains since I was 15 and they got worse every year. I couldn't find proper bras and always was ashamed to wear bikinis and same problem like this lady when I was young I didn't know how to dress and there was always older men hitting on me. I had massive breasts since I was 17. I was always stared at by men, and given the stink eye by some women. Some men asked to touch them, and others did without permission. Barely anyone looked me in the eyes. To add to the constant attention, I was in perpetual pain in my neck and shoulders, and had both shoulders frozen, and injected with cortisone...but the pain continued. I had to order bras online, and they never fit right, and cost $100. I have permanent indentations in the tops of my shoulders. I was in a 40H cup, because I couldn’t find any bigger. I finally had them reduced to a D cup, and my surgeon said it was the largest reduction he ever did. It took 2 years before the pain stopped, and I still get back spasms every few days. BUT, I finally feel normal. I was much bigger busted than this woman. I should have done this years ago.

@@LullabiesofAlaura I was often accused by other jealous women that I dressed to show my breasts…the truth is I wore t shirts and jeans too, but nothing was going to hide them. I could never wear the spaghetti strap dresses and halter tops, etc, because that would have drawn too much attention. Little breasted girls can wear what they want and no one says a thing. Now that I have a reduction I am still a D cup, but women don’t give me hateful stares as much…but at least I don’t feel like a circus freak anymore. Seriously, the worst part of being large busted was the women who hated that their men stared at me…the men at least were complimentary except for the one at a dance class who called me “Implants” loud enough for me to hear!

This lady is so inspirational, I've never ever really thought of having big boobs as a negative thing until recently. I was 15 before I got my first bra because I was so flat chested and that made me super self conscious, all the tops I wanted to wear hung funny at the top and I hated how all the other girls around me had female bodies and I was stuck as a child. I took until I heard my mum talking about how much her large boobs affected her for me to even realise it was a problem, hers are a lot larger than these ladies and I can't imagine what she's had to go through.

I totally get her struggle. I purposely wear more baggy clothes and cover up. I feel like if I don't, i'm giving myself more attention than I want. I just want to wear nice bras, get a nice swimsuit in which I feel confident, and not have to second guess then triple guess everything I wear. Not wearing a bra is honestly not an option unless i'm at home where I can't be judged and I can be myself by wearing what I want.

Loved this piece! This resonates so deeply for me... having had similar treatment just for having bigger breast really altered how I viewed myself and dressed myself for some years. There was a period of resentment, inner turmoil, lack of confidence that shaped my fashion from wearing what I liked and thought pretty to hiding behind baggy clothes. Through the years though, I have accepted my body and brushed off or confronted people now when they are being inappropriate or rude towards me (leering, oversexual comments, touching). Now I wear what I want/ what makes me feel and look good. I just give the metaphorical (or literal) middle finger to unwanted attention! Not worth my time or energy.

Just found this channel. Instantly I have watched the majority of your videos, and I will recommend you to everyone. Its so so so so so important that young girls see material such as this. I come from an all girls school, and thinking of how much the things talked about on your channel have affected me and the people around me daily, it upsets me that we don't cover things such as this in PSHEE lessons, but we are told not to be suggestive. I think schools are afraid to confront issues like this for fear that they may offend somebody somewhere, but if we all keep quite for fear that someone might not like what we have to say, the world will never, EVER progress. Its particularly important kids learn this, because they are the future.

your intervention has brought back to me really painful memories. I started to struggle with my big breast at the age of 11. I was just a little girl and didn't know how to manage this sudden breast that sexualised me and I was really confused. Since then buying clothes, underwears and swimsuits that fits me have been a torture, no mentionning the price and the loud comments on the beach "oh look at the girl with the big boobs. It is way too much don't you think?" I is a heavy weight to bear everyday and even though I try to accept my body the way it is, I can't help but thinking time to time of a breast surgery

I'm 18 with size14GGs. In primary school I would wear a jumper every single day just to cover them up. The thing is as well, I'm not actually that large at all. I mean no way am I skinny or thin, but this is definitely not helped by the fact of my huge boobs. It didn't matter how small my waist is, because my boobs made me look bigger. The only times someone straight away has realised how small my frame is compared to my boobs was an Italian bra fitter who was extremely serious about her job. Even my friends would consistently talk about my chest both negative and positive. At ages 11 I would constantly get glares from older men, sometimes boys my age and even some mothers. For the longest time I was ashamed of them, as people would make comments and just glare.. for endless minutes, make disgusting comments or judge me. Now I realise most of those comments came from a place of individuals own insecurities and sexual desires. I still have huge boobs but as Im seen more as a women, thankfully it isnt as glaring obvious and "wrong" to others. I felt insecure because I cared what people thought. But now, I am confident, more so than other girls my age that have a smaller chest and are smaller. I wasn't approached by boys ever in school. The times when I was, was pretty much in secret, because as Georgia Pratt said, they were intimidated by me. It's just sad to see so many people no matter what gender or age, are shallow. Whether it's an assest or a flaw, people will always judge you. Even if you are a cookie cutter individual. We care too much about bodies. It's just such an unevolved way of thinking. P.S make some damn bras and swimming costumes that are for larger breasts and are pretty ffs! Not nice being 12+ and wearing beige ugly bras.

My sister has Turner's but in a mild range so it's not the typical case. i feel ya with the topic thats is hard to talk about. I'm the younger sister but now that I'm older I feel the responsibility to look after her as well.

That line about how she had all the guys in high school intimidated. Yeah, that’s a thing. Was 37 years ago, when I graduated, and it is today as well, now that I’ve got kids that age. The idea that she didn’t know, and just thought nobody liked her, is so sad. So many lost opportunities.

The other thing that she didn't mention, but is very real, is that even if a teen senses that intimidation factor, they are almost always ill-equipped to process it and deal with it.

I love this video I've watched it multiple times. I honestly hate a lot of things about my boobs rn but I want to try to be more proud of them and be more empowered in general. When I was out recently, I had an older guy look up and down me and yell "hey beautiful' or some crap, and I honestly gave him the dirtiest stare and strutted past loudly, in a way that made everyone notice what had just happened. In the past I might have smiled and acted like it was okay, but I've decided I have to stand up for myself more. *You own your own body girls, and no one should make you feel uncomfortable in it or like you're an object.*
