Lady!!! This is great! Regardless of the credit JD claims, (and yes he deserves some for "turning on your artist light) you have what is called a "god given talent". In some form or another a talent very likely resides in all of us. It just need a JD to turn it on.

That's pretty impressive. Creating hyper-realistic drawings like that take a lot of time and effort I imagine and she's done an incredible job improving her portraits.

Yes. I really don't want to sound like I'm taking all the credit. She put in an amazing amount of work to improve so quickly. The key is learning WHAT to work on. She is a great student that listens and watches intently and implements what she has learned. Just putting in more hours with a pencil yields little results.

I really don't want to sound like I'm taking all the credit for her success. She put in an amazing amount of work to improve so quickly. She is a great student. She listens and watches intently and implements what she has learned. Some people think it's just a matter of practice. But just putting in more hours in with a pencil usually yields very little results. The key is learning WHAT to concentrate on to help you improve your drawing ability. Without this knowledge, students end up spending too much time on things that don't matter.

Stunning!! How much time between her first drawing and last?

I think she said that first one was in 2019. The most dramatic progress happened in the last 2 years.
