I was browsing through Thingiverse and found a 3d medical scan of a human skull. Apparently this person was having sinus surgery done and had a scan done of his head prior to the surgery, then decided to upload the scan as a printable model. www.thingiverse.com/thing:388... I used the Bambu Labs software to rotate the skull to face upwards, added tree supports and swapped the infill pattern to Gyroid. It printed nearly perfectly with just a small area of roughness where the base supports attached and a small spot of layering on one eyebrow. Both defects can be easily sanded down. The overall look is VERY nice with a lot of anatomical features I have not seen on the cheapo store bought Halloween skulls. The teeth are kinda "meh" and I will likely swap them out for more realistic acrylic teeth. For a mere 15 hour print on my BambuLabs P1S this skull is AWESOME! And it only used about 1/2 of a roll of filament to make!

Awesome 👍I bought a skull from Hobby Lobby perfect sculpt but just a little too small for a life size skull I'd like to have it 3D scanned and upsized a bit.

Pretty cool. Did it have all those ridges 3d printing leaves?

Very tiny print rings. A little light sanding will eliminate them completely. 3D printing has come a long way since the early days of just a few years ago when everything had the pronounced layer lines.

Yep. And that is FAST compared to what older generations of 3D printers could do. The technology is still in it's infancy, but is still pretty amazing at what it can do.
