Actually, yeah, he was giving it the first few tugs with the bolt in place, but the clip makes a sudden cut, showing the bolt out, so I guess he musta realized it was still in place. Actually, from seeing this clip, I started using the gear puller to take off the rotors when they stick, and it works very well.
