Hang on to it. An oldie but a goodie! At least for me, it’s just a reliable and worry free ownership experience. I get it, there are more technologically advanced trucks in the market with bells and whistles galore. But, I know I can get to work, play a little, and even take the kiddos to school without ever having to worry about BS warning lights and gremlins. And, it looks super cool even from an older guy’s prospective like myself. I sold my Raptor, bought a Tacoma and haven’t looked back!!!

Yes, but that was in late 2019. It was a 2018 model. I couldn’t live with it being such a difficult vehicle to park, to include my garage. That said, if those conundrum’s don’t bother you, a Raptor is still one the baddest trucks on the planet. For me, my Tacoma TRD pro was simply easier to live with. I sincerely chose that over the the sportiness and power that Raptor was superior in.

By the time I found out about all the issues (plus price and markups), which there are many, I couldn't get a '21 for less than 10K over msrp. If Toyota extended the bumper to bumper warranty from 3 years/36,000 miles to 5 years $70,000, then I would buy the 2024 Tacoma. The problem with all new generation of cars are they tend to be riddled with problems. It takes about two production years of the new model to work out the problems. Alas Toyota will not extend the warranty, affecting their reputation.

If they make it bigger it might grab more sales because frankly, the full sized market is out of whack when it comes to pricing. They will need a vast improvement in mpg's as well, 20 is not very good for a small pickup truck.

The gas milage rating isn't inflated like domestic full size trucks. I had a 3.5 Ecoboost f150 and never got what was advertised. My '23 taco v6 double cab will get 24mpg at 65mph.

I got the base model 2015 Toyota Tacoma and it has less horse power and torque then my car and it has no features at all so ill look forward to upgrading to the 2024 because this truck will be paid off by then because I hope to NEVER get ripped off again trading in my car to get a new car ( in this case I traded in my car to get this truck ), they under valued my car but said I could not be financed unless I traded in one of my vehicles so in 2024 both vehicles will be paid off so I can sell my truck to a random jo or Carvana ( if it still exist at that point ) and use that money to take to the dealer to have a sizable down payment on a NON base model version of the newist version of the truck. Both my current vehicles are the base models and I want better but not the best ( more things to break with expensive maintenance ).

Several posts on here advocating for a manual transmission; I've had 5 Tacoma's (AKA- Toyota pick up, back in the day) 3 manual 2 automatic. Oh it sounds romantic, having a manual shift, but it's a very overrated experience for a daily driver truck.
