This video is mainly about how to fish the rebel crickhopper and have fun at the creek. I love using this little lure and watching fish just slam it. This is definitely one of my favorite lures to use at the creek because its just like what the fish are used to eating.

Wow just scrolling and this video brings back a lot of memories of my late brother we used all our bait in a dairy farm pond in North Carolina my brother pulled this out of his tackle box man was some giant shellcrackers he caught on this lure ✌️

I've had one of these in my tacklebox for a good while. Last.time I used it was when I was still married and we caught quite a few smallmouth on it. Decided to break it out today for old times sake and was just hammering bluegill with it. Fun little lure for shallow water that just performs.

That was a nice haul on the Crickhopper in an hour and a half. Great lure, I also like the Storm Hopper Popper as well. That one doesn’t dive it’s more of a small popper. I throw those 2 on a medium light pole, size 200 reel and 6 pound line. We have 2-4 pound Smallmouth that love anything that hits the surface.

i have used that lure to catch trout, bass, and all kinds of pan fish... Its one i ALWAYS keep in my tacklebox cause u just never know when it really might come in handy.

Since I have been "Subscribed" to your RU-vid channel, I have been fishing small lures and I have been catching more fish with the small lures than with the larger lures. I catch fish with the bigger lures but I'm having more fun the the smaller lures.

I love fishing out-of-the-way creeks like this. I used to be one of those who fish for quality first, but now, I fish for quantity. I'd rather catch 8 or 9 small bluegill, bass, crappie to one or two good ones...it's just more fun to me catching them. If along the way I get a couple of good ones, all the better!!

Caught a bass and tons of sunfish with this lure today. It's great because it floats so you can twitch it top water or retrieve it slowly for crankbait action.

I was coming home one day from work.. I drove by this place on the McKenzie river many times so this time I pulled over walked through a field with my pole.. had no bait but grabbed a hopper on the way.. put it on a hook tossed it out and got a hit that reeled off my 6 lbs test like fire and then broke it and was gone.. Never saw the fish and it never happened again .. Woof what a moment!.. that was 42 years ago now and I still remember it like it was yesterday.. You are a blessing on us all John..even if you do not know it.. God (thru you) touches a lot of people.. thank you my brother for your faithfulness.

I have had better luck with those small baits in creeks by working it like a twitch bait. Throw then just twitch it a little. Most grasshoppers don't go under the water. They just sit on top and create a little commotion. 😀 had to edit the comment. Take a grasshopper and throw it in the water and watch it. You will get the idea real quick.

I do the same with weightless soft plastics no bigger than 2". Slowly reeling as I twitch it on the surface. Redbreasts slam them. Crappie hammer them at lakes and ponds as I let it slowly sink with small twitches.

These Rebel ultra light lures are my go to shallow water catch-all bait. They're the first thing I throw. First goes the craw then the hopper. The crickpopper never gets me any hits, though.

I been using the rebel craw forever and always gets hook up and hits but I saw this at the tackle shop and thought I’d give it a try a few days ago. First cast within seconds I was hooked up, 15 fish later that lure paid for itself in one session lol. More then happy with the cricket. I got the golden brown one myself

HookNBass92 True. I am forced to use two colors since Wal-Mart is the only store that has them and the Fire Tiger produces...down in the Houston area at least. Caught like a 2-3lb largemouth with that thing out of a ditch and multitude of perch but not Bluegill. Dunno why they won't eat it.

I was bass fishing the other day. When the bite slowed down I grabbed one of these and caught a bunch of gills. I bumped it across the top, If the fish missed it the first time I would work it like the grasshopper was panicked and trying to get away(very fast bumps). They can't stand it, I had one chase and hit it about 12 times before I finally got him

I've never had any luck with a crickhopper. I watch Kendal Grey. He has good luck with them too. I've bought 2. Never had a single bite. Even when the fish were hitting top water. Sadly, I lost both to rock snags.
