I’m a Neil fan, and I live down the road from where he was born (Omemee Ontario) and he even has a cottage/cabin in the area and spends part of the year here with his wife Darryl Hannah. He even bought a stereo console from my turntable guy here in town and has been spotted several times but I have yet to see him, I almost don’t want to run into him because I don’t know how I would behave lol

l saw neil and crazy horse on the ragged glory tour at the sports arena here with sonic youth opening... my ears are still ringing. Sahara and Crossings nice....

Nice captures of Uncle Neil, how many bands can say the same touring the world and sounding that good. (albeit with some sloppy but endearing playing.) Great additions. Those Mwandishi Hancock records are superb, I need to pull those and spin em. Almost the same band on the Bennie Maupin lp on ECM too. Love that Julian Priester as well. Another one I should give a spin. Sounds like you found your sweet spot.

The Bennie Maupin is finally getting a proper reissue in that ECM Luminescence series. I’m also thinking about tracking down those two Eddie Henderson features on Capricorn. Same Mwandishi session players. Glad I finally got to see Neil, and even happier it was truly a great show. Cheers, Dom ✌🏻

Oh man, that Pokemon intro🤣🤣🤣 (go you good thing Sam!). Neil in fine voice at the beginning, and now you mention it his voice really is holding up beautifully. Maybe it's years of 'singing soft' that has him well placed to continue as he always has. That is cool, never knew Stax had a gospel imprint. You really picked a winner with Clarence there. Also have that Seefeel but haven't spun it! Thank you for clearing up your love of Traffic 😆since they have your blessing I'll be testing the waters further. The Jazz content in this video is 🔥 love the photos with the VCers too!! And that Greatest Hits Crazy Horse slice at the end is all-time🤌 thanks for hosting this Not a vinyl finds Jon, you're a natural and the best person for the job. Hope Sam doesn't inherit this and turn it into a Pokemon channel! I'd probably still watch😂

My friend Marion and I watched CSNY Storytellers when it first aired on VH1. At times their harmonies were off. Nash, in particular, sounded really off. Crosby was not at his best either. Stills sounded fine. We both looked at each other and said, “Man, Neil is carrying them.” It was the first time that I realized that he had a truly wonderful voice. Not just an artful affectation. Really happy with the recent additions I’ve made to the collection this year. More importantly, I haven’t gotten carried away so far this year. All quality. Manageable quantity. 😎 Wish I could say the same thing for Sam’s Pokémon collection. 🤣

Headhunters and the Mwandishi albums are up my alley. The Neil & Crazy Horse show was great. Venue sounded excellent. Hope you get the same experience! Quique is the Seefeel I really want. That one is pricey all around. Was hoping it would be a 30th reissue last year. Cheers! ✌🏻

Hi Jon - My Michigan friends are all seeing Neil tomorrow at Pine Knob an excellent outdoor venue. I guess Slowdive were almost rained 🌧 out in North Carolina but weather cleared just in time for them. I'm a big Seefeel fan & while somewhat overrated Tin Drum has several great songs particularly Sons Of Pioneers. 8 down & 8 to go for Da Rangers to win the Stanley Cup 🏆🏒 ! Should be about 40% Ranger fans for the games in Florida & Rangers are fully fit & have home ice advantage. Love Playoff Hockey particularly the no commercial break sudden death overtime games.

I saw that about Slowdive in Asheville. I guess they came out and performed past the venue cutoff time. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Minnesota extends the series. Will probably go 6 games now.

Jon wow man Im jealous you got to see Neil Young he’s here in Chicago this week I couldn’t go the ticket prices are insane I love the snippets you played he sounds great and you got to hang with VC brother Eric . Concert tickets have gotten out of control. Compared to a lot of other artists, these weren’t that bad. But, yes, still more than they should be imo. Always fun hanging with Eric. Maybe one day you’ll grace us with your presence in the Carolinas. Seek out Crossings now, Lovell. You’ll love that one! Cheers ✌🏻

seefeel definitely has some dub influence, still need that one. classic ecm that one, sampled on entroducing. there's no real reason for most reissues of previously mass-produced records other than, hey we have access to the tapes and can squeeze some money out of them.

I’ll take reissues of the mass-produced albums that are overpriced used. Well… not as many of them now as I used to. Quique is the Seefeel I’d like to have most.
