This is my third video. I am hooked! New subscriber. I grew up in South Texas wearing cowboy boots, 28yrs in the Army wearing combat boots, and after retirement, been wearing wedge soled lace up moc toe Thorogood boots. (fallen arches from poor military footwear and millions of miles as an infantryman. The wedge soles help with comfort here on the ranch.). I am impressed with the care you guys take in getting things the way they should be. Fantastic attention to detail.

Excellent review and recraft. I have a pair of black Normandy boots that are my go to boots in bad weather. Like you, I had my cobbler glue some Vibram commando sole guards to the leather sole, which is part of what makes them my go to bad weather boot. They are so well made it might be years before I need a re sole.

What a great upgrade! I have a pair in reverse Kudu, and I’m pretty sure the midsole is just fiber board. Now I want to wear mine out and get this treatment!

The best boot / footwear video I have ever seen! Such an interesting and informative video to witness. Thank you for putting this together and sharing. I have always wanted to improve upon my AE Normandy boots, the factory soles are just too flimsy to be comfortable for me. The uppers are great though so definitely worth a re-craft.

Very nice. To me the biggest reveal was that really cheap shank that AE uses. What junk. I have an AE shoe. I don’t wear them much. I like Alden’s better. Instead of using the steak shank why not use leather? Just curious.

The skits aren’t needed-they add a very detrimental hee-haw element. Informative video though.
