*I love filmmaking! So I appreciate all the editing and cinematography that you put into these videos! I love the lighting and coloring of the footage! The sound of the cobbler's workshop, with all the tools used on the boots is really cool! You know how to immerse your audience into your work! You all do amazing work with boots, and fixing them! The end result of these boots turned out incredible! I love your channel! Keep up the good work! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷😊*

At one time, Lucchese was a good brand. I am old and have watched them head south in quality over time, as so many others have as well. Quality deteriorating in manufacturing made me stop wearing cowboy boots and many years of wearing poor footwear in the Army for 28yrs. My arches are gone! Wedge soles on lace up boots is the limit for me these days. You really did a masterful job rebuilding those boots. The customer will be thrilled for sure. I am new to the channel and love what you guys are doing. I enjoy the videos a great deal. Oh, with motorcycles it is never IF you have an accident, it is WHEN. Just saying.

That’s typical with giant scales, they just can’t hold together. Has nothing to do with the boot maker or quality control.

Beautiful work! I will be interested to learn why you used brass nails instead of the Lemonwood pegs, though....
@WyattDadCobblerCompany
@WyattDadCobblerCompany 2 года назад
Lemonwood pegs are great when making the boots. They also work great when the inner soles are replaced. On a resole job, brass nails clinch grabbing a small place in the inner soles. Brass doesn’t rust or eat away at the leather. Lemonwood requires a fresh hole or an exact hit on an existing hole to hold properly. The old holes from previous sole cannot be seen from the outside once a new sole is placed on. The risk of creating an oblong hole that won’t hold up is too great. Therefore, it is much safer and secure to use brass clinching nails in a resole scenario.

Question: having had shoes re-soled in the past, I've noticed that they seemed somewhat smaller. I suppose that is because the sides were drawn into the replaced sole. Is that the case with the boot or is that where you referenced avoiding the boot feeling 'like new"? Geat vid - many thanks!
@WyattDadCobblerCompany
@WyattDadCobblerCompany 5 месяцев назад
Unfortunately, a lot of cobblers stick the soles around the edges first and then hammer or press the center. The shoe is relaxed because the soles were removed. They stick it to the relaxed edges and the center is sunk in. That makes the shoes feel and actually be tighter. The proper thing to do is stick the center first and then roll the pressure to the edges. Then the shoe feels the same size as it was when it came in for repair

We can remove the steel toe, but not restructure a new toe box. Something like that requires relasting the uppers. We don’t offer relasting services.
