(Song starts at 00:57)... With intro sketch with Kathy Griffin and Snoop. Recorded it myself on VHS from Danish TV - hence the subs :) Rare Snoop interview: • Snoop Dogg - Interview... #ScarTissue #RedHotChiliPeppers #SnoopDogg
I saw a tweet the other day that said Snoop really just be doing anything. Shit is so true Snoop will just pop up anywhere chilling like he really just does whatever he wants with who ever lol
I mean it is true when you think about look at Katy Perry and phsy so he will collaborate with anyone to stay in the spotlight and he's successful with it
Event coordinators: alright guys, remember this is a formal occasion, so please don’t get too crazy Anthony, John, Chad: aight Flea: Well, I’ll put pants on but I’m not making any promises
God I love seeing/hearing John play at this stage of his career. Still regaining that finger dexterity but has so much feel even if he can’t play a note.
@@dipsi64 I mean he clearly isn't playing the entire show by accident.... He was coming off a long stretch of debilitating heroin addiction during which he did not practice guitar like he did prior and lost a lot of, in his own words, "finger strength" so he decided to go in a different creative direction for Califonrnication taking creative influence from guys like, once again in Johns own words, Bernard Summner rather than Hendrix like he did on BSSM because he needed to adopt a less technical playing style to accommodate for his lack of practice in the style that defined previous RHCP albums. He even says that before californication he practiced ramones songs to build strength in his right hand. So I think it pretty clear that his technical proficiency is not the same during this performance as it was say in 1991 or like 2004-2006. Just listen to how he emphasizes the guitar solos during the Stadium Arcadium tour where during this tour the sonic focus seems to lie more on vocals and songwriting in the live setting. If you're looking to learn something about john and his playing style these would be a good start. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WsyZh4WaVrE.html&ab_channel=LecturesBeyondBeyond ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-82wLljgCfCI.html&ab_channel=IagoDrumond
This was the first time I ever saw them live and I must have had a weird look on my face because my dad was like, they don't sound the same live as on the album and I was just like, uhh no... Anthony definitely was not very good on this version.
Yes, I thought that was particularly corny. Trying to be cool. Cleary not down. Also, every second Snoop raps with them adds credibility to RHCp. Anthony wanted to get the spotlight back from Snoop. Selfish insecure move.
It's almost like John could tell only his lower frequency notes were being picked up by this one-size-fits-all mix so he decided to chase a lower tone throughout the solo and with Snoop. So sick. His playing is so dynamic.
Snoop was Super Ballsy to walk out there and freestyle off the top of his head, not written.. anything could have happened. He should have kept going, at Least 4 more lines, but it worked out fine.
@@whatwouldgordonramsaydo i think the last high note before the solo was on point but before was very sloppy. In fact the first one was beyond terrible
That solo was extra Fripp-y. Frusciante is great at the Hendrix stuff, but I've noticed over the years that he's got a hidden King Crimson influence in his playing. The use of the wah as a trippy filter is a really cool Fripp trick, and Frusciante does it really well here. That diversity of influence is part of what makes his style so cool, and uniquely him.
Anthony did badly, off tune, off his impostate voice, even the falsetto sounded strained, bad physical shape I guess; never heard him like he didn't eat 2 days before
@@johnm2089 when has he ever sounded good live? I saw them in 2000 and I can't remember if his voice sounded worse than normal but man he kept singing off beat. He really is terrible.
@@ELfudgeable He's pretty hit or miss when performing live, I think even he said that himself lol. For an example of when he was on point, he was quite phenomenal when performing Otherside live at Slane Castle, and Frusciante's backing vocals were just a cherry on top too.
Still high up on my list of all-time fav awards show performances is RHCP's 1992 M-TV VMA closing set (ftg. Anthony sporting the exclamation point hat) when hosts, fans, and members of other bands got onstage with the Peps, including Fishbone's Angelo Moore!!!
Lmao if I didn't search for this, I wouldn't have known how well Anthony can freakin sing, and How well they freaking welcomed him, f reakin insane musical entrance this was from another dimension.
Chillys write new music, snoop just says for shizzle for like 40 years straight and is some how on the internet and every comercial every second of the day.
Actually Snoop was a big fan of RHCP ... I was lucky enough to see RHCP and Snoop opened for them ... it was awesome he wore a Chili Peppers band shirt
