@@johannesnagengast7643 you can't be for real. Just dumb on a whole different level. There is no greater mark of respect they could give him than to include him in their game.
The only Dev that cared about the game's lore was Metzen. You can see he is the only guy who really tries to think about it and tries his best to answer. It was his story after all.
@@the4universes207 you can tell by the alternation between caps and no caps. It's quite a famous way to show you are being sarcastic! But what do I know. Maybe he/she switches cause he/she is bored (not)
One dude in a red shirt makes all Blizzard employees annually more uncomfortable than all the other scandals and criticisms combined over the years. What a legend.

actually your all wrong. He put a video on his channel saying the reason for his speech was cause he could hear himself through the speakers while he was talking and there was delay so it was putting him off a little
Imagine being this dude... Walking up and saying nothing but "Hello" and having the power to make a developer of a massive game who talks to millions of people at these annual conventions just go... "Oh shit"
@Not Alfie dude, if you're on the comments section for a video about this guy making a sarcastic remark toward another commentor, especially in 2021, then you're probably not doing any better than he is. Not to say i agree that he's living with his parents. He's probably perfectly happy, living with an understanding and caring individual. Someone who makes him a better person so he doesn't have to go inault people in comments sections.
@Not Alfie Oh I'm sorry. You're right, jokes are funny... "Yes and also the power to be single and living with his parents for the rest of his life" but that's not funny, that sounds like a tragedy that happens to many disabled individuals because the world isn't designed to accommodate for them. Y'know, natural selection and all, strong overcoming the weak. Funni stuf.
@Corbin Salvatore how must you not have any friends that you need to setup another account to reply to another. Forget that, how stupid are you that you have to scam people
haha yea its kiinda endearing how shy and nervous he is in the first one and by the like 4th hes like HEY GUYS ITS ME AGAIN HERE TO CALL U OUT ON UR SHIT!
@@slimxshady6111 Why? Because people love him and because it would make a good demonstration of the devs listening to their fans and being receptive to feedback. In essence, he's a good marketing tool and not of much inconvenience. It would be far more inconvenient to deal with all the feedback relayed to Blizzard over online support tickets than one guy on a stage. And these are only lore issues, not technical issues, balancing, or pricing/economy
In the same way that enjoying/criticizing a meal doesn't make you a great chef, knowing everything about a story doesn't make you a great writer. It's the difference between consuming something and creating something
i know he probably talks about this to ppl outside of blizzcon and they probably dismiss it all the time. good for him for finding a place where his thoughts are valued.
@@overthrone3494 Why would you even joke about that, with someone obviously not like that at all? There is something very wrong with you if you think that is funny...
@@juice2090 The future that im writing this comment from thats 28 minutes after you wrote yours. Just like how video games update over time going forward into the future.
@@Sunbro413 Well, the company isn't so much 'Dead' as their game is just shitcanning itself in terms of story, mechanics and complete lack of content. HOWEVER, this is not me defending them. Their game is losing their player base in droves. Numbers don't lie. Regardless, it's not even really the state of california's law suit that's causing them to fail (Though that is now helping to contribute to peoples opinions and helping it along) so much as the WoW game and their self contradicting and retconning lore. I mean... Here's just one example of them retconning lore for their current story: Frostmourne. The Mournblade was, according to the dreadlord who spoke to Arthas, forged by the Lich King. Later that was retconned, and it was stated that the mournblade was forged by the Burning Legion. Finally, in current content, it's stated that the Runecarver(One of the Eternal Ones) is the original one to have forged it and the Helm of Domination... The lore is being wound into a lovecraftian horror style loopty loop, and then further twisted into a fucked up slinky so bad that it's laughable. They have no idea what they're doing.
These developers go home at night to families, children, girlfriends, go out for dinner, walk their dogs. Red shirt guy stays behind and continues investigating every detail of the plots and what the future will hold. Thanks red shirt guy. Dont necessarily be like red shirt guy, but appreciate him nonetheless.
Some people are happy playing video games everyday because they arent good socially, and they might also go out with family and have girlfriends, be grateful for what everyone brings forth that is good! we don't know their disability or health conditions that could not enable them to leave their house.
@@Grungehead1993 none of this has anything to do with OP's comment. You just brought up a bunch of irrelevant imaginary people that nobody is talking about.
@@carclain123 I can't remember OP's comment but I was defending a child who these adults were taking the piss out of. Most comments are lovely on here though.
I hope you know some peoples disabilities are not just physical right?.... Also I was not specifically talking about "red shirt guy" I meant as a broad spectrum.
the guy knew exactly what he wanted to ask, and what he wanted to hear. Guy: asks Dev: we're gonna get that fixed Guys: Thank you. Dev: Th... Guy: [Vanish] Dev: [Nodders]
I love this guy, his questions were always worded in a way for the devs to spill some future content. You could see how the devs are talking around it. 😂
I don’t know literally ANYTHING about World of Warcraft but I love this man. He’s the hero we needed but not the one we deserved. He has so much passion and love for this game and I can’t help but applaud him.
The coolest part of this isn't the blizz devs reacting or even the red shirt guy, but it's the standing ovation red shirt guy gets when he walks up from the other fans. The WoW community can be awful, but its moments like this that make me smile.
Just watched this for the first time in 2022. Man, that was some wholesome shit. A superfan asking a genuine question and the devs calmly owning up to their mistake and promising to fix it.
It’s so sad. You watch the first couple of years and everything is awesome. And as soon as Ion got up there on the stage the whole vibe changed from fun loving banter and joking with the crowd to cold, calculated, and matter of fact. I’m not saying Ion ruined the game, I’m just saying you can tell when WoW stopped being about the fans and started being about money
Don't be sad. This happens to all great things; they wither, disband, parasites rally to their decaying corpses. This is as natural to art and friendship as it is to nature itself. Instead, take pleasure in the fact that something as great as this could begin with you, if you are willing to live truly.
@@crimsonoutdoorsco.9640 He became Game Director in Legion, not Cata... Tom Chilton was the Game Director in Cata and up until Legion. Before Ion was Game Director, he was Lead Encounter Designer and making banger raids.
pretty sure he said something about the first time he asked questions, he was nervous and also he could hear himself talk, which through him off and that is why he sounds like he is stuttering or talking slow
I love how he is very articulate with his lore based questions but the Devs are always stumped at the questions and dont even know how to properly answer him.. I swear Red Shirt Guy should work at Blizzard he would have made the game much much better
I swear, if these devs listened to 10% of what the players suggested, their career, along with the company would have much higher revenue and a network of loyal streamers that would promote their content.
Think that was the goal of the classic. They ripped off osrs approach to their loyal community but blizzard dropped the ball by not letting players decide the direction like osrs does.
Its not that, he got confused by hearing his voice on the speakers while he was speaking. When you watch an interview with him, he talks normally and explains why he sounded weird.
This guy is an introvert and also has asperger syndrome. If you consider that, he did very well. He was watched by a large live audience and cameras also pointed at him, ofc you get nervous ... it's not like he was just talking to 2 or 3 people.
Why don't they hire that guy.. Well, unfortunately I heard bad things about blizzard but at that time they should have hired the kid. He clearly notices things
Asks a great question. Gives unfilled answer that just leads to more questions. 😂 most of it is the devs saying they dont know or we will see. Ian got a spot in the game but should have had a spot on the team
I really hope that the developers don’t talk down about this guy. They have the duty of being storytellers that impact countless fans. Some of those fans love their story so much that it becomes an escape for them. Even when it comes to small joke jabs at him during Q and A sessions, it really makes them sound like elitists.
I think my favourite thing about this video has to be the level of confidence he gains. Listen to how he struggles in the first clip compared with the last one where he's basically the reason people went to the the show...
This guy is dope. He gets way more confident each year, and he’s actually an asset. He’s very informed and aware of this game and if I was developing this game I’d for sure hire him or at least pay him to QC the storylines. I,amine the insist he could add BEFOREHAND for little tidbits, tie ins, etc.
