My dad used to do this way back in the 70s! I could never, but enjoy watching. I love how people who hanglide look like little butterflies with little caterpillar bodies hahaha xo

Ha, this is like us skydivers are doing only we call it swooping (and we go faster and lower and with higher precision than that). Basically we fly our parachutes to a vertical 270° or 560° turn and let it recover in a dive to a horizontal position swooping above the ground at high speed. Basically a good swooper can hit a beer bottle coming in from around 800 ft in about 5 seconds. Swooping competitions are held worldwide but the ones in Dubai usually draw the worlds biggest talents.

This particularly dangerous undertaking was called " Speed Gliding" and it turned out to be a last ditch effort to market hang gliding to the masses before it faded from the collective consciousness... hang gliding is still fun though...like flying
