At the start of ac season, test your capacitor and clean the condenser coil. You may never need to call for service if you do that every year.

Good advice!

Oh, and replace your filters every 2 months. Mark your calendar so you don’t forget. These 3 things, other than a part failure, cause most service calls.

Youcan use recovered refrigerant at different locations, as long as its OWNED by the same customer. Its about ownership not location. The industry is afraid you’ll recover from one customer and sell it to another, and circumvent their cut... it all about the money.

Awesome Video again, Jeff amazing what a good cleaning can do plus you lucked out with the custumer having a recovery jug of r 22 for you to use but doesn't the recovered stuff have contamanents in it or when recovered is a filter installed that removes the mineral oil. I think when r 22 is recovered and taken to a recovery place they should clean it and purify it so it can be reused and resold for those that have really old units but still work. Also Jeff have you thought of using 407 c when converting and repairing leaks on old r 22 systems. And yes I know that it is not compatable with mineral oil. But to me if am r22 system has a leak somewhere near the compressor why not take the extra 5 to 10 minutes and remove the compressor dump out all the old mineral oil and replace it with poe then recharge with 407c because you actually gain capicity when you recharge to factory specs. If it is not leaking anywhere else in a lineset. But I agree with you if a unit is not leaking and you have r22 available use it. But I still don't get it. Cars were pushed to convert from r 12 to r 134 a back in the early 1990s why was this not done with residential hvac systems where all the mineral oil gets removed and drained out the linesets get flushed and system gets converted to 407 c. And all new hvac systens just came charged with 407c instead of 410 a and like 20 different refrigerent types.

Just went over the refrigerant ownership and reuse in my 608 study. Going to take the test in a week or so. I have no plans to work in the trade. I just find it interesting and I will be able to legally purchase refrigerant if I want to. Type III stuff is mind blowing compared to I and II.

Great video, Appreciate good content. What do think of the H-10 leak detector? compared to the inficon D- TEK?
@JeffsHVACAdventures
@JeffsHVACAdventures 11 месяцев назад
H-10 is good. Tried and True just like the D-Tek. Really just a personal preference but I lean towards the D-Tek

Good find! Did inficon send that to you?! What’s the cost I see different variations
@JeffsHVACAdventures
@JeffsHVACAdventures 11 месяцев назад
No Inficon didn’t send me this. I bought it. I did email them however to see if they would be interested in sending me product in the future. This one here, D-Tek Stratus is about $1000. The D-Tek 3 which is a step down from this one is between $550-650 and the Tek-Mate which is the cheaper one that I had for years, is about $300
