Rega Planar 6 Turntable Overview 

I've done quite a bit of research and the P-6 appears to be one of the best bargains out there, if not the best. The added power supply, cartridge and superior build quality over the P-3 makes it more cost effective over an upgraded P-3.

I still love my Planar 3 with the Elys 2 cartridge and feel no need to upgrade :D Rega sure do make good products.

Thanks for a good video. I have the P6 and actually made some upgrades by replacing the glass platter with a Delrin platter (and subplatter) by Groovetracer. Also added their counterweight. Really happy with the performance of the table and now just moved from the Ania to the Apheta 3. Big jump in sound.

I ended up purchasing an Ania Pro and am looking forward to hearing the difference in sound compared to my Ania on my P6. I was also able to find and buy a Rega IOS MC phono amp and I have to say it is quite something! I`m thinking the Ania Pro/IOS combo will be sweet!

I have had a planar 2 for 35 years it has given no trouble regular cartridge change service every couple of years ,rega carbon cartridge at the moment performs very well

Great honest review... I am lucky enough to have the P6 with a dynavector 20x2l MC cart, Aria phonostage & Aethos amp. They sound great... I may upgrade to the P8 but have the new PMC floorstander speakers 25/23i the new ones to listen to first to see IF i need to upgrade the P6, I’m loathe to let go of it just yet.... 👍🏻🔊. looking forward to your Aethos review ???

Thanks for the nice review. What kind of phono pre would you use and has it a big impact? Which price range would you choose and what about the new Rega Aria 3 with the Rega P6? Did you ever try a Nagaoka MP-300 (MI) to this system or would you recommend only MC on this level of turntables... Thanks! :)

Wow. You said a word I had to look up in a dictionary. You said the p3 was the seminole. Now I am not daft so I presume it was the "runaway" model from the 1 & 2 model rega's. Anyhow I now call my rega 3 which I will never change as I love it to my rega 3 seminole as it sounds well posh. Great video's & info by the way.

I have one and the first thing I noticed is no matter how much I increased the volume all the way to the threshold of damaging my speakers there was never the tiniest amount of the rumble i had a problem with from my last turntable.

Have the p7 with upgraded rb1000. More than satisfied . Next step p8 but with rb3000

Is Ania MC cartridge relatively fragile compared to Exact (affecting the longevity of the cartridge or the needle)? How much improvement in sonic/musical quality can we expect by upgrading from Exact to Ania (not Pro) on P6? I understand it's subjective, but would still like to hear your (subjective) opinion.

any video on how to connect to rega fono mc? having issues with it only producing sound from one speaker, tested wires and the sound would flip from speaker to speaker. we have the elex-r integrated amplifier as well. need help!! can't find any discussions on topic.

(but)..Cheeese and Rice the $$- that's incredible - I would LOVE to get into that space, however, coming from a thrift store Vintage Dual 1229Q....just can't fathom that price point atm. Guess I'm just going to be content "Covetting" these and keeping a 2nd hand eye out!

I have an exact 2 cartridge pre-fitted on my brand new p6 that I just bought for my ninteen birtday. I'm wondering which catridge beetween the Ania or the Ania pro is more worth the money ( or if I should stick to the exact) once my stylus is worn of.

Rega forever. Dont even consider anything else. Build quality sound reproduction is exceptional. Any of there range will last you 2+ decades. If you have limited funds consider the classic p3 . Does everything right for the money. It has the ability to match well with moving coil cartridges and with even higher standards than their own range. Put an ortofon cadenza black on this rig and you will be totally surprised. One tip thou if your budget is on the higher side go straight to the p8 . Nothing at this price point challenges the p8. Hail the king of turntables

So a turntable don't need to be heavy . I have a Technics SL-1210MK7. It weighs 10 kg. Over 20 pounds. Does it need to be so heavy?

Nothing about Rega turntables impress me. When i see one I think "where is my money going? What am I getting for $1-4K?" They look like cheap toys to me. Just not a fan.
