Hi Tim, it's sad that you and Chrissy are having so much trouble trying to get back into the Philippines. The best of luck to the both of you in being able to get back home. Take care, God Bless you and your family!
Tim has the most gorgeous wife. I bet he wakes up everyday and thinks to himself, “how did I get so lucky?” Much love from Humboldt County, California!
WOW! Hope everything goes well for you both. You've definitely got a better attitude than I would have, if I was in your position. On the bright side, the look on Chrissy's face after eating that chocolate, was priceless.
I hate hate hate the airport in manila. I am current living in Leyte. The last time I arrived at the airport I had to fill out an arrival card I put down my name as Jose Rizal and no one noticed.
It’s not how they treated them but how this couples could not check the requirements before entering PH...they should know this because as we all know, virus still roaming around and ahould protect each other even if you knew you’re healthy but what about the people you’ve meet. Then if you caught a virus, you blame it again the government...am I make sense?
Thanks Tim for that valuable knowledge. I am flying there in august and now I know what more I need to do. Sorry you had a bad experience. I am sure all of us traveling and watching your channel appreciate what you had to go through. Thanks again
Just want to say it looks like you both handled the situation very calm and under control. It sucks that you both had to deal with the added expenses and wasted time. Thanks for the video.
I would also recommend a very accurate vlogger by the name of Jennifer Terri. she is on youtube and she does vloggs on all the latest travel updates from the US to the PH and from the PH to the US with all the latest up to date information with in an hour or so from it passing and becoming the new rule and when it goes into effect. she tries to be the most accurate and fast to post person on travel. I highly recommend her when the PH are in the mix. when you are leaving or entering the PH. ok bud I hope this information will help. she takes all the guess work out of travel into or exiting the PH
Up t0 6 times on this one and been watching older shows also. Hope it works out good for you guys. Can't wait to see ur next trip. Have a great day guys
Hi Tim thanks for the video I learned a lot. I've been watching you since before I came to the Philippines 🇵🇭 from USA 🇺🇸 in 2019 and you've been a big help with my preparations to come and with so many things since I arrived with the information in your videos Flying out of Manila 🇵🇭 to Thailand 🇹🇭 next week and leaving the Philippines for the first time since December 2019 and I've been worried about this trip and I just got more worried after this video but I appreciate the heads up on what to prepare for. Thanks again and safe travels
Tim, you are such a nice, easy going, level headed person & Chrissy the same (one of the reasons you work together so well), luckily you took it all in your stride, even though it was obviously extremely frustrating. The best part was & will be the memories of Chrissy's first trip to another country & her reaction of seeing Singapore & Malaysia, was fantastic. Take care to You both & hope this hasn't taken the edge of a fantastic trip. Go well 💯
Bro, that sucks. Travel days are rough by themselves without all of this nonsense. You two handled it well. The frustration was obvious, but you two did not crumble. I’m leaving LA for Manila in 5 days! I’ll be paying the rapid rt-pcr test the day before departure. I’ve looked at the website everyday to make sure nothing has changed yet on the requirements. I’ve traveled to several countries and never had as much stress as I feel trying to get to PH to see my girl. Thanks for sharing this and letting the rest of us “learn” from your “experience”.
My Wife flew out of LA 3 weeks ago & I'm flying out July 11th. We got her antigen test done at one of those drive up clinics at the airport in Ontario. I'll have mine done there as well, it was convenient
I landed in manila start of this month from Thailand. Our connecting flight to cebu was on the runway ready to leave by the time we got to the checkin desk. The lady behind the desk was so sound. Didn't check anything and got us escorted directly to the plane. Lucky!
Luckily I wasn't caught in any of this mess when I travelled there recently. But right now you almost have to be super anal with following the regulations on every step of your trip. Jennifer Terri has been doing an amazing job of keeping everyone updated on the travel regulations to the Philippines. She usually updates within a couple hours of and changes from the IATF or DOT.
I leave Next Wednesday….I’ll try to come back here and leave a comment on how it went. I’m vaccinated and 1 booster should be good Jennifer terry is the best
Still have to show vaccination status for domestic flights. Don't have to be boosted for domestic flights, just fly vaccinated. Some islands won't allow you to travel by ferry is you are also unvaxed. Going to Boracay we had our vaccination records checked 5 times at various points.
Thank you for sharing Tim and Chrissy. I am sorry to hear of your troubles. I am planning to go to the Philippines in October, so I hope things will be easier then. Take care
@@aroque867 I haven't taken any Covid vaccines yet, nor have I caught Covid 19, unless I had it and didn't know I had it. I would prefer not to take a vaccine that will make me feel unwell and might give me side effects especially when I am doing fine without the vaccines.
It is not fun travelling with all these requirements. We had a mishap coming from US where the lab made a mistake in labeling our test result. We were not allowed to board the plane, we had to book a hotel for the night, pay PAL additional fees, and all the stress we go through. It is really rough.
Africa is good I'm impressed, many leaders stood up against the nw0 mantra and x- p3r!men-ta-shun* of that *** needle. Some leaders lost their lives at a cost of their opposition, I believe this. African leaders stood up with courage for their people. But in the Philippines, they all bowed down, leaders followed the orders and commands, still now -- how sad it is. People are treated like chickens, the very poor are discriminated treated harshly during the pandemic. Most leaders submitted to the beast.
The requirement to have had a booster has been well publicised for several weeks. Don't rely on headlines in the press, they are there to sell newspapers, read the IATF bulletins - or watch RU-vid, there a few few travel vloggers in the Philippines who regularly clarify the state of play around the immigration rules. I am not arriving until October but I regularly check the latest rules, the information is all available.
The iatf and polictions like governer garcia can't even agree or understand what the Resolutions mean so that's bad advice. I agree. With Tim the airline should have known the rules as they change so regular.
I find it pretty ambiguous on the philipines government website. There is mention of being fully vaccinated, then on other paragraphs mentions vaccinated with at least one booster dose, but doesn't state the exact requirements of what to do if you have had 2 doses. 2 doses are treated as basically unvaccinated it seems, which seems like no incentive to be vaccinated anymore.
This rule is so absurd. In the West they don't offer the booster to young people. Only to people over 60 y.o. Why everything always have to be so wrong there? I still don't understand that
@Steve Clarke exactly, and we cannpt blame the workers, they are only doing what they are told and have no authority to deviate from procedure. And the person that DOES have the authority is always on lunch break. 😆
@@G5Philippines Agreed. To make matters even worse, the volume of bureaucracy encourages corruption as the low paid workers are tempted to accept a payment to oil the wheels.
Thanks for letting us know what going on there. As someone else mentioned, I recommend you fly directly to Cebu because their governor Gwen seems to be the only one with common sense.
Same ,i am going late august. They allow unvaccinated. I called and asked airport in cebu and hotel i am staying. Didn't get a quarantine room. Just going to stay in room for five days. And tested on 5 day and hopeful good on 6
@@user-nr5ut2hc9y Governor Gwen’s order was overridden by the federal government I think. A lot of people have said despite her order to allow unvaccinated, airlines are not letting people on flights without vaccines
Fully vaccinated without booster shot still needs the negative rt pcr test or the negative antigen test to enter the Philippines. Only fully vaccinated with booster shot need not to show the negative test to enter the country.
I have an SRRV Permanent Resident Visa, we don't get ACR cards. We have an ID Card that we show that Trumps the ACR Card. You have to pay for the SRRV for 50 and older now. It's a lot easier for Vets but the permanent residency is much easier if you plan on traveling in SE Asia. You can come and go and now no testing is required.
I love your spirit man! I spent a year in Cebu and I cant wait to visit again. Unfortunately I understand how bureaucratic the Philippines can be and being un vaccinated I imagine it will be years before I can revisit
What a nightmare for you guys arr glad I had a pcr test before I left England, was in Clark for month to see my girlfriend, hope you got sorted me back in England now arr good luck to you both 😁🙏
Got it from philippino advisory: Update: Foreign nationals aged 18 and above who have received primary series COVID-19 vaccine and at least one (1) COVID-19 booster shot
One problem with the Philippines, you can follow all of their guidelines, and as soon as you step out of the country, they can change the guidelines and when you return, you no longer meet their “current” guidelines. Also, when they post guidelines, it doesn’t translate across the entire system. The airline said you’re good to go, when in fact they did not understand or clarify the correct procedures to follow and forward that procedure to the traveling passengers.
You both handled the frustrations well . Phil rules are unpredictable. Got home Feb after they remove the quarantine if you're fully vaccinated and with a negative Rt Pcr which I paid $125 here in US coz its timed 48 hrs before the flight , I watch this vlogger ( Jennifer Terri) and she is up to date with the requirements there. Don't let this ruin your travels. Love to watch you guys
Philippines is one of the worst countries when it come to travel at this point! Unvaccinated here, and plan on staying that way. Sucks because my Asawa and I really want to move to Philippines. You are correct they are killing Philippines tourism which was down by 99%. Hope you make it back soon.
Totally agree Dan same here and I'm staying that way and I was looking to moving to the Philippines. Sad part is the country is going to lose a lot of income. It is truly time for the world to move on from this and let people live. Unfortunately most Asian countries have always trained their citizens to live in fear especially when it comes to viruses.
@@arnieljovero1008 I'm talking about the rules of entering the Philippines while traveling. And maybe those rules apply when leaving I don't know. Thanks for sharing its not mandatory. I am sure there is many rules in place for those that are unvaccinated or am I wrong with that assumption?
The U.S. has denied Novak to enter for the U.S. open meanwhile 430k Mexicans simply wade across the border untested & put on a bus to N.Y. (Home of the Open)
430k not Mexicans. Southern Americanas. Mostly Venezuelans, Salvadorenos, Chilean, Peruanos, etc. Only like 5% of them are Mexican because most Mexican that wanted to come to the US have been here along time already and usually cross back and forth regularly. Meanwhile the Southern Americans cross and never really cross back ever until deported.
Thailand have dropped most requirements and have also legalised Cannabis for recreational use. Philippines is never going to recover its tourist numbers with competitors like Thailand.
Tim and Crissy, such an unfortunate experience but hats off to both of you for seemingly keeping calm throughout. More than ever, it is imperative nowadays to keep or be kept updated with the latest cross-border entry requirements since they change at a moment's notice. I am a foreign national flew in at the end of May, and in luck for the Airlines I flew with regularly sent reminders of the latest requirement - with links to relevant authority sites, up to the last 24 hours before the scheduled flight. It helped me to comply and experience a hassle-free trip. If I may, I am sharing below the requirement I had to comply with to enter the Philippines last May, with the latest update I received for my upcoming flight is also included as in-bracket notes. Please do take note that all these requirements below may apply differently depending on traveler type or categorization, nationality, visa or entry permit status, age, and the vaccinated or unvaccinated state. See my notes on traveler categorization at the end of this comment. 1. Vaccination: required Proof of fully vaccinated (2 doses of series shot + 1 Booster shot) is required to enter the country. Definition of fully vaccinated: A traveler shall be deemed fully vaccinated only if he/she is fully compliant with the following requisites: have received 2nd dose series or single dose vaccine for more than 14 days prior to departure from country of origin, and the vaccine is included in any of the following: -- Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) List or Compassionate Special Permit (CSP) issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration; or -- Emergency Use Listing of the World Health Organization Proof of vaccination required: -- World Health Organization International Certificates of Vaccination and Prophylaxis; or -- VaxCertPH; or -- National/state digital certificate of foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal arrangement unless otherwise permitted by the IATF. Aside from the soft copy uploaded to e-HDC of OHP, have the soft copy on your phone or tablet, and the hard copy ready with you. (I found this handy as aside from check-in, at times randomly some establishments in Manila requested you to show proof of vaccination to enter). 2. Covid-19 Test: required Negative RT-PCR taken within 48 hours, or negative Antigen swab taken within 24 hours prior to the departure date. (Note: latest update as this comment is written, this is no longer required provided that requirement #1 is met) 3. OneHealthPass (OHP): registration to this portal is required Registration within 72 hours before departure. All required documentation, i.e. proof of vaccination and Covid 19 Test (if required), will need to be uploaded to the portal as part of e-HDC (electronic Health Declaration Card) completion. A QR Code as a pre-requisite to check-in will be provided and sent to your email upon completion and verification of the submitted e-HDC. (Note: latest update, the registration is to be done within 48 hours) 4. Quarantine: not required if meeting the fully vaccinated definition (#1). Otherwise, certain conditions are applied. 5. Travel insurance: required A minimum of USD35,000 travel insurance which includes Covid-19 coverage is required. (Note: latest update, as of mid-June this is no longer required but recommended to have one). Personally having a travel insurance gives me peace of mind, and the premium is not too expensive. If you decide to have one, please ensure it is issued by a reputable Insurer. 6. Return ticket: required, with conditions following your visa status. 7. Passport: a minimum of 6 months validity 8. Other requirements: -- Download TRAZE app (contact tracing app) -- Those meeting #1, shall self-monitor for any sign or symptom until the 7th day from arrival -- Foreign nationals including former Filipinos: unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, and those whose vaccination status cannot be verified are not Allowed to travel to the Philippines Also, if you plan to travel domestically during your stay, please check the requirement from each LGU you plan to visit and stay at. Some will require pre-departure completion of required information and documents. Hope this helps. Please note that the information provided here may change from time to time, so I cannot emphasize enough to always check and consult your Embassy circular, the Airlines, and the relevant Philippines Authority sites or portal for the latest entry requirements before your trip commencing. Have a safe and enjoyable travel everyone! Note: * My status is a foreign national eligible to enter without visa; fully vaccinated (2 doses of series vaccine and 1 booster); point of entry NAIA. ** Traveler type or categorization will further define the specifics of each entry requirements (i.e. Filipino nationals, Foreign nationals including Former Filipinos). *** The Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific hold the most comprehensive and updated information on Traveler categorization and the applied entry requirements to the Philippines. Based on my experience their ground and check-in crew are very strict in implementing this requirement and will be the first to let you know whether you meet the requirements to board or not. Even if you do not fly with any of these airline, it is worth checking their site to obtain the information, so that you will be better prepared.
I can see I need to cross the Ts and dot the I s when I do my out and back. I am sorry to hear about the troubles you two had, Thank U for keeping us informed. I will probably leave Ne Neng here in the PH & only leave for 24 hours.
Same thing happened to me in April, arriving in Manila. I’m from Canada. They listed requirements were to have a PCR or Antigen test 24 hours before departure. I did a pharmacy beaded Antigen. When I arrived all of a sudden they said it had to be a Lab based test. I was put into 5 days quarantine but release after 3 1/2 days because the decision suddenly got reversed???? Worst of all I didn’t know any quarantine hotels so the Coast Guard decided to put me into a SOGO hotel. I later found out it was a pay as you go hotel for hooking up. But I still love the Philippines though and I can’t wait to go back!!!!
This is horrible, making people get all these vaccines just to travel, these governments allowing this to happen is even worse. The kickbacks must be very rewarding
Bummer man. They should just let you test on arrival. I used the padlab place in T3 back on the 3rd the night before going back to USA and the results only took minutes. Also the airline should have made sure the requirements were met before boarding you.
Planning to visit the Philippines from the USA, and this is upsetting. I been asking advice from friends and classmates in the Philippines and got different versions. Looks like you got to be anal about it. Vacation is a hassle nowadays. Stay safe guys. Notice Chrissy holding to a US passport. When will Tim bring Chrissy to the States for a vacation?
Yeah, what a bummer. It's really important these days to be on top of the IATF Resolutions on entering the Philippines. Definitely don't rely on hearsay.
Tim I'm boosted but I'm waiting for the one pass to go before I go back to Philippines 🇵🇭 bro thanks for sharing your experience 🙏 Love you're channel ❤
As an afterthought if you would have looked at Terry's vlog everyday she reports what's required to come in to the Philippines, and she just reported 2 days ago that now requires not only the two shots but a booster, or a PCR test. So sorry that you guys had to go through that
True! Before ako nagbakasyon sa pinas, everyday tinitingnan ko any changes/protocol from AITF and requirements from the airlines. Or requirements pagdating mo sa pinas. Nakaka stress Pero that is a new norm when you are traveling…kahit pabalik kana sa Bansa kung San ka citizen.
Tourists are gonna choose countries that behave more or less SANE and avoid the nutty countries. Each country can choose weather or not they want tourists or not. I will only choose to visit countries that put the insanity BEHIND them. I hope to come back to the Philippines one day, BUT....
Thailand still forces testing, so it is impossible to enter Thailand. Go to Vietnam instead. All this nonsense is happening thanks to you millions following ridiculous rules. And now you are surprised. Just stop this sheep act. Ignore Thailand and others, until they change.
Sorry to hear that you got caught up in that mess, we travel to Manila in 5 days and already have our booster shot and will have One Health Pass completed prior to arriving at airport.
I feel for your situation Tim, I did notice that it takes the additional booster shot to gain entry back to PH. This was only thanks to Jennifer Terri and her travel updates. Easy to overlook, particularly you being a permanent and all the trip organisation. Your situation could so easily been solved with a couple of PCR tests. Sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced, but I see you're handling it with the right attitude. Thanks for letting us be part of your story.
I think you're wrong, you can enter as long as your fully vaccinated and have a negative test result. The booster gives you an exemption from having to do a covid test
I had a similar experience back in February in Peru. I was double vaxxed, flew into a city no problem, but three days later when I checked in for my return flight I was told the law had changed and over 50 needed three shots. No one told me anything so I was basically stranded - however, luckily I got a tuk tuk driver to take me to a nearby clinic, got a third shot, whipped back to the airport and made it onto my flight - talk about stressful. Last month I flew into PH after travelling easily in Vietnam and Indonesia. It was a bit of a cluster where they checked that everyone had their shots and PCR tests - it didn't need to be like that, a bit of a black mark on the Philippines at the start of my visit - but luckily that was the only experience like that.
I have traveled since the boarders have opened. I'm booked to the Philippines in January to visit my fiancé. There seems to be 2 vaccination standards. For travel it's 2 shots and a booster and some places are requiring the second booster. My fiancé is in Bicol and the booster is available there and there in a poor fishing village in the middle of a coconut grove
I'm actually seeing 2 options for foreigners flying into the Philippines. 1) If you are fully jabbed, one jab of J&J or two jabs of everything else BUT you have to test (pcr OR antigen) negative to fly into the Philippines. 2) Fully jabbed with one booster but no testing is required. The really Interesting thing is my Filipina wife that lives in the same house as I do and sleeps in the same bed as I do, doesn't have to be jabbed at all but is required a 5 day quarenten.
@@ianlagz of course, did I say that? no, just that it was too early at the time and I hope it works out asap. now I guess things are more or less back to what it should be.
I just arrived 15 June from LAX. Had my onehealthpass completed and took my first booster three days before flight. I did not need any covid tests. Easy in.
what you expect it is the Philippines where things can change before the ink dries. That is a nightmare. I hope you make it back. It should be clear all around the airport people travel to the Philippines need a booster or need to get a test.
Im in Thailand having just returned in May. Things change here almost daily and I haven’t taken any clot shots. My advice to anyone is monitor the country’s official embassy website. I’ve had to argue with airline folks because they weren’t up to date. So much turmoil over Faicie’s scamdemic. 🤦♂️
I'm sorry to hear about your experience! That must be so frustrating . If I am correct they will consider as fully vaccinated when you have been boosted and if you didn't do it then you are classified as not fully vaccinated. 🤷♀️
When I went to the Philippines i bought a ticket out of the country because it would be a requirement. They never asked for it. At least it was not that expensive. I just booked a ticket to hong Kong. I stayed for a total 3 months. Was an amazing time with my girlfriend. Unfortunately I had to go back at the end of last month. I want to go back.
Must be nothing less than super frustrating for you Tim. I’m sure Chrissy feels the same way, but being the young Pinay that she is, she shows clam and restraint over the issue. My heart goes out to both of you…. especially when I plan on doing the same thing in a couple of months…….. Best of luck….
I happy to see you took ownership of the situation. It sucks, no doubt…no argument there. The lesson is travel in a post Covid world-ESPECIALLY the Philippines is riddled with details at best and often ambiguity.
This is good to know just in case I head out to meet up with my wife before she gets her interview at Manila embassy. I feel for ya for having gotten turned around.
