Rekey, fix latch and add inexpensive theft deterrent to 2009-2014 F150 tailgate 

In this video I do a rig style rekey of and explore how the locking mechanism works on a replacement tailgate to a 2014 f150. You can use this trick to make your key work for a replacement tailgate not matched to your key.
I also adjust the latch release bars and add a hose clamp which will act as a theft deterrent.
This video should apply to all regular key lock style f150s from 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and some 2014 year models. It will also inform your efforts to try this on other truck makes and models.
For this job you need a T30 driver bit to remove the screws which hold on a metal panel you need to remove to access the back of the door handle. You also need a rotary tool or some other type of small grinder. Good luck and enjoy!
