Who am I and why does that matter to you? I am a certified Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, and former Pro Athelete that currently has Fibromyalgia and Chonic Fatigue. I experienced many many injuries as an athlete, and now can use that knowledge to help others. I was tutored by an amazing massage therapist and want to share some of these techniques with others. I know how hard it is to find a good therapist that can help you get exactly what you want out of a massage.
I was a successful Spartan Athlete because I knew how to tap into the power of the mind to acheive athletic goals. After a really stressful period, I developed these conditions and my professional career ended abruptly. I spent 2 years in the depths of depression, severe Chronic Fatigue, and Fibromyalgia. I know that it was past trauma that got me into that mess, and know that by using the power of my mind that I can heal. I will never give up searching for ways to be in complete remission - I can't and I won't.
Sometimes I feel like giving up
But i Just Can't
It isn't in my blood.
I've learned so much through my formal and informal education on these subjects, and I want to share it all and help others through their hard times. Feel free to PM me.

My chiropractor uses those techniques on me, including the tools. It is painful and I bruise afterwards, but the relief I feel from chronic stiffness and knots is immediate and drastic. It's worth suffering through the treatment for the greatly increased mobility and relief I feel afterwards.

I can't wait for have mine. I am also suffering from stiff neck almost 8 years now. And now I feel small knots because of stiffness. I had first massage yesterday. They open my muscles without using any oil. They decided to give me Gua Shah in my next appointment. I hope it work for me as well. I am fed up with this stiffness

Your coloration shouldn't bruise though. This is more petichiae, and goes away after a few days with no soreness upon palpation. If you are bruised from this and notice pain when you press on the red areas your practioner may not have done it properly.

After weeks of battling with a stiff neck that would not ease despite visits to chiropractor and general massage, I happened upon your video. I have to admit I was skeptical given the various therapies I had pursued. However, since my wife had purchased a Gua Sha stone and I was desperate for relief I figured why not. All I can say is THANK YOU! I finally found relief after just 10min of Gua Sha and it was clear I had a chromic condition since things lit up and there was allot of petechiae. Needless to say I am now a firm believer in the need for such massage therapy.

Hi Wendy - When you say you do graston, do you do it as a practitioner? Or you get it done yourself? I love Gua sha when it comes to learning the benefits for health! That part couldn't be more important. I actually use my steel tools as in place of the stone tools because I get better results with it. You will have to let me know if you add Gua sha in!

AMAZING VIDEO! Thank you for your wealth of knowledge and especially for describing the "benefit" of actually seeing the "discoloration" within the skin showing where the adhesions are and the benefit of actually relieving those adhesions. I can't tell you how many "supposed deep tissue" massages I've paid for that are, honestly, a joke. If I wanted a fish to massage my back I would have gotten a fish to do it. I have so so much deep, deep tension so I really need someone to "get in there" and release these but thus far no luck. So now seeing this GREAT VIDEO perhaps I can use these tools, or possibly get a family member (hahaha) to watch your technique and do it for me. I am hoping to also see your fascia muscle release videos for my face since I have INCREDIBLY DEEP furroughs all over my face (I'm mid-50's and smoker) so ick, they're bad! Also, I'm hoping to see if using these larger tools on my lower body might relieve my edema and skin that is actually peeling away almost like it's necrotic and leaving weeping wounds on my lower limbs. I have stage 3 Kidney failure and am also disabled from multiple lower and upper back surgeries so my whole body is just a HOT MESS. This technique looks like it will hopefully get my body FLOWING AGAIN, I PRAY! I am going to hit that subscribe button and binge watch all of your videos since my body is screaming at me that it needs to start "working" again; do you know what I mean? My skin scales and is so dry and then the edema and terrible wrinkles, etc etc (sorry to be gross but it is what it is) so clearly my blood flow or lymphatic system is blocked up and I need to get things moving. It is impossibly for me to exercise b/c of pain so my sedentary life is catching up from the inside out.. If you have any recommendations on what I should do and/or a particular video to watch first, I'd love whatever feedback you could provide. So sorry I've written so much and I'll shut up for now and get back to my binge watching:-) Thanks again and God bless you and yours!

hi i'm in china right now and went to do some guasha. For more than 10 years one side of my neck is way bigger than the other maybe because i use to play computer games like 16-18 hours a day lol. And yes i checked at doctor to see what was wrong, they scsnned the area and said nothing is worng, just like that, but the funny thing is when i was kid didn't have it. anyway went fro guasha, and the person scraped both side initially and found big knots on both side of the neck. but she did the not that bigger side more and said that its that side thats causing the other side to be bigger because it restricts blood flow. What do you think about what she said? also that side that she did felt a lot better after and a little more range of motion. She said she will do the other side next week when i come in. she also said because i had this for a some years, will take quite a bit of session to fix it. any advise?

Lara Mel Vasconcellos ya I always wonder what people think when they see the completely different sides of my personality. 😉 slightly fun crazy, and super zen.😂 I’m sorry about your chronic pain. Seriously- no one understands how debilitating it can be. It is soo good for neck pain. I saw your other comment so I’ll address it here too. So you have tried it, and I’m not quite catching what parts you are having problems with? So you slept better right? You have released a bunch of metabolic waste into your system to clear, and sometimes that can be tiring for those of us with chronic pain. So yes that is normal. You don’t even have to do it very hard to have that side effect. Did it help your pain?

Try using a bigger heavier tool. This one is Ty’s favorite. www.zionsedgemassage.com/shop

How long does it take for the red marks to go away?
@Zionsedgemassage

Hi! It can take anywhere from a couple hours to a week to disappear. (Some people with poor circulation may see marks stay longer as well).

You can do it yourself or have someone do it for you. Make sure the area is well lubricated and your skin isn’t breaking.

Keri Meyer I apologize that I missed this comment. I was lucky enough to have it as part of my general massage therapy education. I am unsure of other trainings to recommend.

The problem is almost always in the middle of the muscle, can i know your source for this?
@marcusmjx740
@marcusmjx740 2 года назад
I don't have any source, but based on my experience, it's true for my sternocleidomastoid muscle when gua sha is done on it. The middle always hurts the most.

It works best with monkey balm or eucalyptus oil or icy hot. And the only tool you need is a quarter or 50 cent coin.
