I guess Mercedes Benz changed their name to Marcedes Benz. This had me and my whole family laughing for hours

I use the valet key to lock the drivers door on my "MAR-cedes". (all other doors already locked naturally) None of that reaching thru the window jazz to lock. When I'm ready to go, I use the valet key once again to unlock. Thanks for the Video :)

You could also use the key to lock your door without the whole window down/up. And use the key to unlock.

Very useful, I've used it on my Mercedes a lot. One thing is that people would have to have the key some where inside of the cabin because of their safety system.

Or point the fob at the handle while pressing unlock and it opens all the windows. Then you reach in and unlock.

Not an English major here, but would remote starting your car not require you to be in a remote location, away from the car...

Man! This is very useful for me. Now I can leave my small dog in the car with air conditioner on even in summer. This makes my family’s life much easier.

This is different on different years/models. So basically somene who tries this and doesn't have your specific model will end up temporarily locked out. I have an S and the sequence is two 3/4 pulls followed by one regular pull and really isn't easy to do takes a lot of tries getting the 3/4 correct.

For all of you out there, Mercedes Benz has an option which lets preheat the ca rby remote control while you are inside your house, I have in my E Class and it works fantastic, it is also available in the after market. save yourself the hassle for a few bucks.

If your you have to go outside to do the window thing it kinda defeats the whole staying warm while your car warms up thing, you might as well just go out and start it.

Remote starting necessarily means you're not in the car when it happens. That's kinda fundamental to the concept. If "old school" means starting a car normally, then I must be missing the point.

Dude you have a door key inside the fob use it duh 😒 Lock the door with it too

I hate remote start for a couple of reasons. First - It is a waste of gas, every AM I see cars idling on their driveways for half an hour while owners have breakfast. You only need 30 seconds to make a car ready to drive, put on a coat while it warms up. Second - Metal cracks easily when it is cold. You may be warming up the engine and interior but the rest of the drivetrain is still frozen! Now you hit the street and floor the car and rip out the ice cold transmission. Been there , done that.

w164 facelift does not have key miss detect system. They failed to program the keyless start system

Have you tried locking it from the passenger side? Quite a few cars will lock all doors with the engine running if you do it from there

I just bought my GLC 300 two weeks ago. In the manual it says you can use your smartphone with a MB app to remote start the vehicle. However they don't name the app to use.

You could have pushed the button down before you closed the door.

just a quick question on this if you still up to it. once you reset your service warning doea it automatically select the new service A, B,C or D and the period or do you need to set this up?

Okay, I believe the Mercedes Benz key fob has a valet key that you could use to lock and unlock the car manually aside from locking and unlocking the glove box and the trunk-Why? Would you go through the trouble of this process when you can press the lock button while the car is runny, then since the drivers door is still unlocked remove the valet key from the fob and lock the drivers door manually? by the way this is a rhetorical question?

Gotta love people who set others up for failure. The unlock procedure with the key blade varies per year and model. You should rename this video for your particular model and not for every Benz.

I have a 2007 e350 and all you need to do with this car is remove the key from fob start the car, open drives door, hit the inside lock button get out and use the key from fob to lock the drivers door...

why can't you just open the door , push the lock down and push the door closed? you don't even need the key

Why going through this when you can open the rear door and lock the driver door from the back door and then close the back door

Is there an easier way to do this without going to the car in the first place? The convenience factor. I have the Mercedes me app on my phone. I can turn on the engine and it will turn off in 10 minutes automatically or I can turn it off anytime before that.

All you have to do is lock the doors before you get out.. when you open your door.. your door only will unlock.. simply push down to lock & close door... done

Do the same thing using the passenger door an lock your car open the passenger door now lock your car start your car shot the passenger door these way you don't have to use the window I do these on my 2013 c 300

First of all you shouldn't let your car sit idling while the engine warms up. It's not good for the engine, or for your wallet or for the environment (I realise amercans couldn't give a shit about the environment but still worth mentioning). So really this is a massively convoluted way to warm your car up a few degrees. Far better to just scrap off any snow from the windows, get into it and start driving. it will warm up quicker once you're on the road. Alternatively get a Mercedes with the 'pre-heat' option like the C350E with which you can set it on a timer or turn on/off the heating via your mobile app.

This is not a remote start genius. Remote start means you can start it from your house without going inside the car etc
