Thanks for the video! A day late for me lol! I just bid a shrub removal and small tree removal project. It was 3 shrubs and a 10 year old Japanese maple. as well as 2.5 yards of fresh red fir bark dust. $750 for the project including disposal. Bid got declined for being to expensive.. sometimes people don’t understand what it takes to get a project done. On to the next! Don’t let clients control your pricing. I’ve learned that the hard way more than once hah!

Whenever you take out a tree or bush close to a water line and house, the roots are going to be difficult. I bid higher on projects like that, also I have the homeowner sign off of no fault to in-service line damage. I have used trucks to old school jacks to lift the root system. Good job..

great vlog! thanks for sharing! $175/hr isn't bad yet I know expenses decrease the gross profit. You won't make that as an employee for anyone else! unless you are an MD or JD, I suppose! Also, are those blades meant to cut through earth material or just direct wood contact? that might be a reason for rapid blade dulling, ya think? I do this type of work for my rental properties but it wouldn't be a bad side gig! again, great share!

Keith, Bosch also makes a good tree pruning blade that I use all the time from Menards. I get 5 blades for like $20. Also never rule out the use of C-4 or thermite. That will work. Also you could use Napalm but Napalm might not be the best option for this job. And napalm is not hare to make. lol Just google the receipt. Have a nice day. I also just got the bid to tear down a garage!!! Big payday coming. Just waiting for the permit.

Harbor freight sells a 2000 lb portable marine winch. With enough pulleys you can double or triple that or even quadruple it. Its under $100 and worth every penny. You can hook it to your hitch or another tree trunk or anything solid even in back yards. I use the dump trailers battery. Works great when you have limited pulling space for the truck.

Thats true 1200lb is not exactly worthy of being hooked up to a truck but he also didnt have anything heavy attached to it like a D shackle. I use synthetic winch line as it doesnt store energy and snap back if it brakes.
@Sargeantyardpros

You can always lay a blanket or heavy jacket over a rope, cable etc. If your worried about it snapping. It absorbs the energy and will hopefully keep it from doing to much damage.

I know plenty of other guys in my industry that just wear their regular clothes to work but ever since I started always felt like when I put on my blue polo shirt tucked in with my dickie pants that it's just full systems go and it really puts me in a work mindset. I know you're well aware of the power of branding I was just wondering if you ever have thought about your uniform like that?

Just dig and look were the roots are. A shovel don't bite. Then use an axe and then pull it out. You take a risk with your car. Thats a cute grinder, use a little better one, kind of 13 hp is good enough for this kind of work. Or use a mini crane for this kind of work. (or somebody with a mini crane... ) A few years ago I kept al that kind of jobs till one day when i rent a good stump grinder.
