Renault Duster Vs Ford EcoSport Test Drive Comparison - Autoportal 

I drove both cars for a fairly long roadtrip (1400 kms in Duster and 4000 kms in Ecosports). Duster is butch looking and all the rings and bells from outside but driving pleasure was pretty ruff and needs lots of refinements. I drove it on narrow 1 and 2 lane highways where manuverability was a major challange, breaking is also decent and bodyroll is very evident. Ecosport, very less bodyroll, absolutely pleasure to drive, i drove straight 1040 kms from bangalore to vizag and it was extremely comfortable and very responsive. Some gentlemen was complaining about picking up speed beyond 100 km/hr. Sir i am positively disagree with you, there was a stretch where i cruise it at 150-160 Km/Hr and the car was as stable as you can imagine. Extremely comfortable seating in front and back rows. Since my kids slept without any hinderences or any issues. I can vouch for that. Duster, good from outside, but pretty outdated and cost cutting is evident from inside. Ecosport, looks is very subjective but from inside it offeres one of the calmest cabin and super comfortable. Btw, handling of a Ford is very responsive and extremely pleasurefull. Hence EcoSport All the way.

duster with 2,00,000 odo and brand new ecosport should be the comparision !! you guess what duster will still remain calm and win if you drive from bangalore to german !!

one of the reason why I genuinely liked this comparison is, he talked about the practicality instead of explaining the features available on board. Not everyone buys the top end variant but practicality remains more or less standard across variants thus making it easy for a range of buyers.

I am really surprised by you rating Duster's interior quality above Ecosports'. Duster has the most impractical boring and cheap interior. Plastic is cheap and it starts squeaking very soon. Ride quality and interior space is the only edge of Duster over Ecosport. Duster is not at all a comfortable both for the driver and the rear passengers. From Delhi to Jaipur, i got tired driving the Duster. But From Delhi to Chamba with a couple of stops I loved the journey in the Ecosport. PS - I own a Duster

i have duster but there is a problem in duster is that clutch is really hard then ford ecosports so it's hard to drive in city traffic....

Duster outperforms ecosport any given day. Ask anyone who has driven both.I guess you have soft corner for ford.

Interesting review from another country's perspective. In the UK comparing the petrol (cheaper) models. The Dacia (Renault) Duster 4x4 Laureat spec, is the same price as the entry level Ecosport (2wd) and also has a slightly higher spec. I would have thought in India a more rugged vehicle designed to go off road would win this review hands down. I love the Duster for it's looks, ability and how it makes the badge snobs hate it!

Ecosport is not really an SUV, its just an ordinary car with higher ground clearance and higher sitting driver position. On highway, its a pain to take it beyond 100 KMPH mark whereas Duster is a breeze even with 85ps. Suspension on ecosport is ordinary and its greater body weight makes it worse. Also, leg room in duster is much better. Ecosport cabin is way too congested. Its a challenge to have 3 passenger sit behind and not to complain about space in ecosport. Overall Duster wins by a big margin.

Ecosport is a good car

Instead of using the old duster in this comparison you should make one review with the new duster awd. Features and presence wise, duster outsmarts ecosport anytime even if ford has an established market share. In terms of SUV standards, duster awd has an edge over ecosport with more space, better ground clearance, boot space, looks, better and two toned interior, fuel efficiency, road presence, off road capabilities, cost effectiveness an driving pleasure.

The Ecosport shouldn't be compared with the Duster what makes Ecosport a good car is its price tag Duster definitely is over priced but driving Duster is an extreme pleasure I just had a single chance to drive this car for 300kms (Chn-Ban) the 1.5L diesel engine is an serious killer on the highway once the rpm reaches to 2*1000 mark the engine just pulls the car like an fired bullet I love the way the car handles the car just listens to me keenly and runs on the highway it has an great body dynamics at the end of the day I had an extreme driving satisfaction with this car but the Ecosport which my father's own is definitely a decent car but comparing it to Duster a big NO Duster is an complete compact SUV and im gonna suggest my fath to sell his Ecosport(P) & suggest for the new twenty sixteen *Duster*

I have been driving duster 90000km, it's far better than any other car... Eco sport is no compare to duster...No maintains till date... 17 km PL ... 90 psi and 120 psi is no comparison. Duster is a super fine suv.. New duster 4 x 4 is world class .

Both are garbage for the price that they are available in India. If you want body pain and headache drive eco sport in city and duster is your fathers generation vehicle available at new generation price.
