This was awesome, such a stripped back appreciation of what Starfield is and can be. Super refreshing after the non-stop click baity guide videos. Had to Sub!
No matter what anyone says. Starfield strikes a nerve like nothing ever has. At no point have a felt like I want to turn this game off. It’s simply revolutionary
Fantastic video, thank you! You have a very soothing voice and a good sense of humor and narration. I look forward to seeing more of these. I'm a fellow roaming, spelunking, mountain climbing, explorer.
I was reading a post with some overly harsh criticism of these random areas and I just couldn't agree at all. I think what Bethesda created with starfield is a phenomenal achievement given the technical boundaries they are working in. The sense of adventure and exploration is top notch and this minimalist video does a great job of showing that. Please make more!
Yup called it. If it's not what you believe, it shouldn't exist. It's harsh criticism because we love games. You can have harsh criticism of the guy that has harsh criticism about a game. You're a walking contradiction.
@@careerwelder84 there’s a difference between harsh criticism and saying things that aren’t true or just an opinion. “Starfield has no exploration” is a statement that I see often but falls under both categories
@@OmarJames starfield is an unfinished game at release. It has elements very similar to no man's sky, it lacks the things that make no man's sky fun. Like taking off from planets. It's basically do something, loading screen. Fly in space, loading screen, walk on planet, loading screen. When you loot a body, all the clothes stay on the body. They've gone in reverse from Skyrim and fallout 4. When progress falls short and people say it's amazing, you have to wonder why.
@@careerwelder84 yeah i can tell you never played NMS. The most boring game i’ve played in a long time. Taking off and landing on planets gets old after about 20 minutes. Barely any combat. Randomly generated lifeless planet. No story. Endless grinding. No thanks
So basically nothing happened. Every location you found was empty. You got no new items. Hardly fired your gun, or Interacted with anyone, or anything. You just jumped up a mountain and looked around only to have to run and jump back to your ship. All I saw was a big waste of time. The game is extremely boring and empty.
I mean he never said it was empty but the loot was just not very good. Enemy interactions are way more common than this video suggests if that's what you're into🤷♂️
the great thing is when it gets old for you, you go and play another game until you want to play starfield again. make better use of your time playing games you like rather than INSERTING YOURSELF into other gamers enjoyment.
The whole procedural generation ARENT meant to give THOAUSANDS of worlds (that realy, REALY huge, basicly more or less then the size of earth ) videogame-like content thats new and fresh everytime. The system places locations after rules, rules that a quite similar to our real world: If you explore our own world you will also find repetions everywhere, if you go there nothing special will happen. Starfield offers a quite wide variations: Settlements of many kinds, small bases, huge industry installations, Mining outposts, military isntallations, science buildings, caves, natural phenomena, recources, farms, random encounters, other ships, any kind of npc´s, quests of any kind and the most important thing: Hints that leads you to unique, "handcrafted" stuff. Imo the whole system is quite impressive. Maybe my expections where in the right spot before the relase? I have explored countless of gameworlds in my gaming carrier, and i have to say: Starfields procedural generated content is (to me!) much more interesting then a handcrafted world from Ubisoft. And dont forget: Starfield has ALSO enormous handcrated content like the Mainquest, Sidequests and 4 faction questlines.
no mans sky is even worse in terms of copy paste. Same biome all over the planet, same resources, same structures, repetitive animals and absolutely garbage terrain gen
@@errormadebeats clearly you haven’t played any of the new updates. There’s a ton of different planet types, geography types, fauna, outposts, settlements, etc.
@@LowkeyHundo played nms 2 months ago, and while it does have an impressive few party pieces (infinite planets, planet to space travel) it gets old and boring EXTREMELY fast. For example, there may be different planet types, but they don't generate like starfield. It's the same damn scenery no matter where you go, arguably making the planet traversal useless. There's about 10 different structures that can generate, and they have NO variation at all and generate on every single planet. Animals and Plants have a few possible bases and then generate off seeds, and generate on EVERY PLANET. There's no sense of achievement because of the ridiculous scale, even though it is multiplayer. So at the end of the day it depends on what you expect from the game but the exploration is not even comparable
@@errormadebeats but it is comparable. Both are marketed as space exploration. Both are procedurally generated. The fact is that Starfield planets are mostly barren with the same few creatures, and they use the same copy + paste occasional point of interest. At least in NMS, you can visit the north and south poles of a planets and see a change in geography and such. But to each their own.
@@LowkeyHundo ??? Nms has no polar dynamics, starfield has a much more advanced biome system. Bro how long did you play the game? Also starfield isn't marketed as space exploration lmao
The number of mods that this game is basicly designed to inspire to have the community flesh out the environment is going to amazing. I starting to think Bethesda designed this game to be half built by modders. Still though, solid game as is.
