Quick data recovery video, highlighting a case where a hard drive was thrown from a balcony and landed in a hotel parking lot. For more information about our services, visit acsdata.com
In this data recovery case we show you how we determine a good match for heads on a Western Digital hard drive. Using PC3000 we read the microjog values of the customer's hard drive and the parts drive. For data recovery purposes we generally want less than a 200 point deviation in microjog values. Anything over 100 points, we will typically use PC3000 to average out the microjog values and then rewrite that value to the damaged drive's ROM. In this case we had values that were well within capability for repairing this hard drive and recovering the data from it.
Since we already have a few videos narrating the data recovery process, we decided to mix it up and do something a little different instead of the usual drone of a voice. The nice beats you hear are by Ukiyo and you can find it here: / calling
Also, please excuse all the "um's" and "uh's" and general lack of good voice over work in the beginning. I was a bit under the weather when this video was done, and since it was an active job, I didn't have time to wait for myself to get better before shooting this. I just wasn't feeling it, and I'm really not happy with the result, but since it was a live job there wasn't a lot of time for editing and reshooting.
