I'm 69, I've been eating a whole food plant based diet for the past 8 years. I've watched soo many podcasts, so many, I stopped watching them. I looked at one of yours a couple of months ago because of the subject matter. Yours is the most informative and well presented I've seen 😊. Keep up the good work!
I've watched at least 12 of your shows. It's like attending a few semesters of biochemistry with a focus on nutrition. I'm ready to defend my thesis. Thank you.
She also listened to some suggestions in the comments to not play sound effects and also I notice that she speaks slightly slower so it is easier to follow all the info she is giving. She is an amazing person. Medical doctors are on a different level.
@Dr. LIU, I thought that the microwave irridates the food🤷🏾♀️. Is that not the reason why microwaves are banned in Russia? I haven't used a microwave at home in ten years. I hope you see this, yet I will research further. Thank you for all of your work and I'm grateful that you Love what you do!!🎊💐🦋
You are such a good doctor and nutritionist with so much useful scientific information, everything based on studies and scientific facts rather than all the hyped BS that goes on these days on social media! And everything is in moderation and makes sense. You explained everything so well without dumbing things down while still giving the biochemical reactions behind the metabolic processes! Thanks for this wonderful video and helpful info, doc. Hope more folks follow you to get real scientific facts and also healthy eating. While potatoes still get such a bad rap, I’ve had to lower my consumption quite a bit as a potato lover, none of these come close to it in taste (even the just boiled version!) 😂 so I do eat them once in a while after refrigerating as you and several have mentioned based on studies.
I am sooo Happy that you popped up on my RU-vid feed!!! I have introduced you to several people. I go to the YMCA and just now realized I've got to talk about you to all those health conscience people I work out with. As I, I'm sure they would love to hear what you are sharing on your channel. Lastly, I'm now going to look for a book you've authored. Hope to find one.
I am so grateful I came across you on RU-vid! I listen to all the plant based docs like McDougall (rip) and Gregor, and Li ( ok he’s not plant exclusive but good) Anyway- I learn so much from you. And you have caused me to try new plants more than anybody. So grateful for your contribution .
It took me a while to figure out how to replace hash browns with my breakfast. Spiralized squash cooked in the pan before I make the eggs. 🍳 now I add bok choy & cherry tomatoes from the garden.
Cook white potatoes and then refrigerate over night...It increases the resistant starch. Also worth keeping in mind Not ALL foods have the same effect on us ALL... One Size Does NOT fit all... A CGM will help you discover this...
Butternut and Kambocha squash can go into the oven whole and cook easily at 400 for 20 minutes. I cook them using both the microwave and/or the oven. A sheet oab with several whole squash will provide creamy sweet squash for meals throughout the week. Thanks so much for all you do.
my 'go to' cooking method for a lot of stuff is steaming. It works for sweet potatoes like a charm. I'll be trying whole squash that way soon. I even steam my egg in a shell for 7 min. when I eat an egg, that is. The Doc mentions having 'learned' to eat carrots. The term learn is worthy of examination. It involves exploration, discovery, and repetition. (imho) right after mentioning carrots and Vitamin A, the Doc talks about eating colorful diversity. The word synergy came to mind along with the question? Which foods to eat together to harmonize and maximize potential? That time I went to tire general and they couldn't get my hubcaps off.🌻
I love all the vegetables and dishes you have shared. I would love recipes as I have no idea how to cook this way. Will you be sharing your recipes or can you recommend a cookbook? I just purchased the vitamins you recommended. I did one box as I need to try first before making a commitment as I will need to cancel some of what I am currently taking.
Thanks for sharing important information. No need to.use microwave, just place the squash in a pot with a bit of water, cover pot turn on stove 🎉to med low for about 10 minutes and let it gently soften, can also tip it over for better result.
Onions are also known to increase your testosterone. Back in the day, before expensive supplements, professional bodybuilders ate tons of RAW (uncooked) onions. Many "old school" body builders still do it today.
In Mexico we know the Japanese sweet potato as Camote del Cerro (sweet potato from the hill). And yes, I must admit it’s a little slimy but we also eat nopales which are a whole other subject💁🏻♀️ Thank you for all the great information and delivery!
I use foil to make a pouch with my vegetables that is sealed by folding the edges. I include a few ice cubes in the pouch and all my spices and vegetables and bacon in the oven them perfectly and it’s different than boiling.
I've been looking for purple sweet potatoes for years and more recently kobacha with no luck. Now I want to try sunchoke root. So how are we to eat this way when most American stores don't sell these foods?
Excellent information. My only problem is that I can't seem to find her links. I use an iPad to view the RU-vid segments. Can anyone help me to find the links
All fat is created equal for someone with an extreme fatty liver? I make avocado, banana, tofu chocolate pudding sweetened with rare sugars. I'm so addicted to it. And I probably ate way too many nuts. Even though eating a balanced diet, should I not go over a certain amount of mg per day? Watching your videos and learning a lot. Thank you
Doctor, my grandmother lived to be the oldest person in the world. Lessie Brown . Google her please. See what kind of sweet potatoes she consumed and how often and how long!
Oops! Lessie Brown was the second oldest when she died. A Chinese woman was older and died a year after my dear Granma. I only know it because I was watching the nightly news the day she died!
Excuse me, if any diabetic ate high low quality carbohydrate without fiber...they are definitely NOT going to have reduced insulin needs...what are you talking about??? If you are able, please explain how this is so. I am a long time DM2 using keto. I just discovered that fat raises insulin resistance. I am attempting to find rules for reducing insulin but this remark you made just makes no sense to any diabetic. I want very much to add fiber rich foods, I have been keto for many years. Did I misunderstand that sentence? I played it back many times?
At issue is Net Carbs, which you understand if you are following a Keto plan. Net carbs are formulated by subtracting values for fiber from values for carbs.
has so much to share and so much knowledge. We appreciate all of it. But, my brain doesn't work as fast as she talks. I have found that if I actually slow down the video, even though this takes longer to watch, it's not so overwhelming. Use the settings icon.
Whoever is responsible for the English captions are making crazy mistakes. At about 7:40 into video Dr says anti-carcinogenic (anti-cancer) and the English subtitle says anti-Christian???? LOL Never knew foods choose a religion to support or deny. :)
and at 10:10 in video she says Vit A and the English caption says Vit D, and then the next time she says Vit A the caption says Vit E. For those who are hearing impaired they are definitely getting incorrect information. Maybe someone knows how to correct this?
