Reset Volvo Service Reminder Push Button Start Models 2006-2016 

Thanks I had the "book time for maintenance" error #021 and # 161 on my 2010 xc60 your instructions worked with a slightly different method. On my car I had to do the following steps to get all error codes to clear (go away) 1. Put key in key ignition slot 2. press the start stop engine button once (without depressing brake pedal) instument odometer and clock displays. 3. press the odometer /tripometer button until it says t2 4. press and hold the t2 button and then quickly simultaneously hold my start stop engine button 5. Wait for the "I light" to flash twice. 6. Immediately let go of the t2 button and let go of the start stop button and you will hear a beep and error codes should now be gone. 7. Press the start stop button 8. Remove your key from the ignition slot. 9. Go have a nice snack or drink and pat yourself on the back because of the money you just saved! :)

My mechanic forgot to clear this "regular maintenance" message (again). This procedure, particularly as outlined in David's written instructions in his description, worked like a charm on my 2009 XC70 (at least on my second attempt after re-reading his written instructions...). Thanks David! p.s. I cannot comprehend the 92 thumbs down. Can I ask everyone who uses this method to do a simple act for David and give him a thumbs up :)

I don't know how you got 81 negative votes, but your video is the ONLY one that I've found that works!!!! S60 2011 S60 D5. Maybe other newer models don't work, but congrats on making the only video that does on an older S60.

This worked on my 09 XC70. The trick is in the timing, just like you said! I had tried a couple of other methods with no success. Evidently they didn't mention the critical timing in letting go of the trip reset button BEFORE the third flash. That's the trick!

Ha! A reason we old Volvo drivers/maintainers put up with this annoying message is because we looked at OTHER videos that didn't highlight "T2"!😂 Thanks.

Thanks for this! Used my Snapon scantool 2 times and it didnt work. It only had "Maintenance Overdue" msg. This cleared it!

2009 Volvo V70, after putting the key in and pushing the button once to turn the ignition on I then had to hold the start button until the dash lights came on. Then I could let it go and continue holding the trip button, worked then for me.

I haven't tried this method yet as I think I managed my self to clear the message, by stopping the engine after a journey leave the fob in and **stop engine** don't eject fob, press and hold start/stop button foot off the brake. Two days later still no message. 2011 v70 D3.

It’s tricky business but it works on my 2010 Volvo V70. I’ve done this a few times in the life of the car - but every single time I forget the method right after I do it. Come on Volvo, why the complicated secret handshake to do something so simple?

Sadly it didn't work for a 2017 v40. Key less entry, with key in and button pushed so the acc come on. The 'overdue' message only comes on if the engine is actually started, and, either way, pressing the 'reset' button while in T2 changes nothing. I take it the reset button is the same as the reset stalk older models have - it's the one to reset your trip meter, anyway. Has anyone got any more advice for a younger car? The machanic forgot to reset it and I don't want to go there again.

To get rid of the "book time for maintenance" you push and hold down the trip button in t2 and then proceed to put the car into position 2. When the "i" in the center blinks, you release the trip button. shut off, then start the car: should go away.

Buy dice reader. And you get the Volvo software included. The readers are Chinese clones but work well and the vida software helps with all maintenance procedures

hello, i have replaced the original unit to my car. do not hear the ``beeps`` and wondering what too do? :)

I have Volvo V60 d3 2011 and it doesnt blink, I only hear the alarm sound and then it says number 168. Any ideas? Tried it longer even 30 secs and the "i" wont blink at all

I worked on an xc60, with a fob, you half to turn ignition on, press "read" on the turn signal knob till it says maintenance, hold start and trip until the it blinks twice and it'll work, ugh why is this swedish crap so complex
