Are we closer to becoming biologically immortal? What would you strive to do or dream of if you could extend your life to even 150 years? Until recently the idea of longevity felt more like reaching your 90s and possibly 100 at best, and if you manage to accomplish that goal, a high quality of life would be best and expected. But what if you could extend your lifespan by even 10 years? Making sure that those years are exciting and meaningful would be a priority. Dr.David Sinclair, a world-renowned geneticist, is joining Tom in this episode to break down exactly why it is that we age on a cellular level, and what is now becoming possible in terms of slowing down our biological clock and even possibly reversing our biological age. If you want to know what you can do to start improving the quality of your aging life and stay younger longer this episode is for you, and you’ll want to check out Dr. David Sinclair’s newest podcast, Lifespan (link below).
SHOW NOTES:
0:00 | Introduction to David Sinclair
0:28 | Why We Age

55:02 | Lifestyle for Longevity
“We could have reversed aging just by making all cells a stem cell, we have the technology to do that.” [23:43]
“So we're reversing the aging of the eye, that's not hard at all, but we can reverse the age of the liver, the skin, other labs are doing the spleen, thymus, through this method.” [31:13]
“Humanity lucked out that we can actually do this and that there's a backup copy of youth in each of our cells that can be tapped into.” [32:03]
“We don't think about what it's like at the end, it is not fun. It's not typically like, Oh, you just go to sleep. Those are the lucky ones.” [36:39]
“The main concept that I think we all need to remember is that our bodies respond well to perceived adversity.” [38:55]

Do you think humanity will achieve immortality in your lifetime?
@MH-et5sn
@MH-et5sn 2 года назад
Hopefully it doesn't. It could very well lead to a tyranny of posthumans over humans. Also, the thing that makes life so precious is the fact that it's finite. Remove the urgency and watch modern life become even more devoid of meaning.

We are already immortal as consciousness. But the body is subject to the universal laws of decay. Your body will die along with your ego self. Your body is just food that you ate, it’s not you. You are not your thoughts either, those are also just things you have gathered from outside. Who are you? You are definitely confused about what you are, but do you even know who you are?

We’re already immortal! Our real life begins in the Hereafter, this life is but a short exam. A “simulation” if you want to call it that. Nothing wrong with trying to extend this life if the intention is to serve God more, but death is inevitable and required for our souls to transition from this world to the next.

Wow! I didn't know. Vitamin C doesn't work, except it would of saved the 100,000 British sailors that died of Scurvy. They've found it works on Cancer. See the million dollar study in Australia. It works on Heart disease & Strokes according to Doctor Matthias Rath. It can knock out a Cold if you take it quick enough. Poor old Linus Pauling taking 18 grams a day & living into his 90's. Who wants health and a long life? Don't run out to get some. Promise not to tell. It's a secret. 😆

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) show that the more (unhealed) trauma, the shorter your life expectancy. Emotion is the most powerful aspect of health. Our hearts are literally radio transmitters, and the signal is modulated by our emotional state. That signal impacts the genetic expression of every strand of DNA in your body. How much trauma you are carrying can be easily revealed by measuring your Heart Rate Variability (HRV). As you age, your HRV reduces...unless you heal your wounds...especially the wounds that most everyone views as normal. Most of the emotional trauma you experienced happened before you were even conscious of yourself as an individual (conception through about 18 months of age). Heal those early wounds, and you will easily live for hundreds of years. Heal all of your wounds and you will have an indefinite lifespan...no nutritional supplements required.
@jessecortez9449
@jessecortez9449 2 года назад
Unresolved trauma is something that these biohackers never look into. They only want to add numbers to the overall lifespan instead of improving the overall quality of that lifespan. The more I've faced and healed my past trauma the more I feel alive.
@Isildur94
@Isildur94 2 года назад
So true. I’m 27 and I’ve got unhealed trauma. My connection to my body is minimal and my posture is bad. I’m trying to heal it through spiritual work, which I found out recently is the right way. Mind and body are definitely linked together.
@Remag123
@Remag123 2 года назад
We specialize for reason. Everyone can’t do EVERYTHING. If the people you call biohackers don’t focus on trauma… well then YOU can do that and educate the rest of us with your findings . Also, I don’t understand why everything has to be “either or” we can literally apply both approaches and live healthier lives since both approaches are important 🤷🏾‍♂️
@ScottCousland
@ScottCousland 2 года назад
@@Remag123 I also believe in using both, but I see the “nutraceuticals” as training wheels that we will eventually discard because our highly efficient metabolisms will be able to provide the energy for our bodies to manufacture everything needed for perfect health…for as long as you want to stay on this rock! 😁

If I’m not mistaken a female body has a certain amount of eggs that if don’t get fertilized the body releases each month with period. Once there is no more eggs there’s Nothing to release and here comes the menopause. That’s my understanding but I might be wrong.

@@mahgul8414 , I don't think it should be natural. The body shouldn't cause discomfort. I'm sure if more doctors or scientists studied it a relief for most women would be appreciated. My experience has been it's just a process and try hormone therapy! I decided this year at 54 to try natural supplements some have worked. And eventually they stop as our bodies change hormonal . I've talked to several women and many of them suffer in silence.

I've been on track with diet for about 4-5 years. I cold press Kale, Spinach, carrots, and celery, with moringa powder most days, followed by 1 meal around noon every day. It has transformed my life, I feel 25 at 59 years old. I do 100 pushups every other day, and at least 50 curls (20lbs) per arm other days. My main issue is drinking a lot of beer every day too, and I smoke cigarettes, and marijuana. I simply won't lose belly fat as long as I keep on with the beer. I do believe aging is controllable.

First, i skipped most of the video as nothing new really. I heard the same from David one year ago. Just have a healthy lifestyle that's all we have as always been. Then the fact that he mentioned that gene therapy will be out of reach forever due to insane price tag, that really killed my hope and im in my late 30's. I have been following longevity trends almost 15 years now and frankly i feel like a serious life extention will not happen in my lifetime.
