Since Rebecca had her own playable sections in Chris' scenario, they should give Barry his own playable sections in Jill's scenario. Imagine the ceiling trap slowly coming down as Jill tries to radio Barry for help while he's on the other side of the mansion, then it switches over to him, and you have to run to her while the timer is counting down as you fight your way past the zombies.

We need a bigger introduction before the mansion. Show the briefing before the mission and going around RPD. Heck, getting yourself to the RPD building before the meeting would be cool. Once they land the helicopter, give the players a chance to roam the woods to crash the landing site and then find your way to the mansion. Either way, it would be an amazing remake with this new engine. They should also do VR. 🤯

They should expand on Barry and Rebecca's story.

I don't mind the RE1 Re-Remake, but I STILL want Code: V-make.

I would really like a small set of stories from all the STARS perspectives and then a larger scale story from Barry’s and Rebecca’s

Remake Code Veronica. It's psychological vibes make it my second favorite in the series.

I think that at this moment, it would be ideal for Capcom to start creating a Resident evil Outbreak Remake, they can make it open-world, where we can explore all of Raccoon city and a dlc for the Arklay Mountains. They can narrate the challenges that the survivors of the incident had to go thru: Kevin, Mark, David, Yoko, Cindy, etc.

I feel like the stuff that happened during Resident evil 0 will be made into a dlc story kinda like what they did with the newer remake version of seperate ways

What if Capcom could include playable RE0 chapters into Chris's campaign where you play as Rebecca in flashbacks, show more consice events that went down the day before with Bravo team and Billy Cohen. To equate for Jill's campaign, Barry would have to have a whole new playable plotline as well.

The Remake should start with Bravo Team going to Arklain Mountains to investigate the missing persons. I want to play as Enrico for the first 5min of the game. After shit happens, the game goes back into R.P.D. as we start playing with Jill or Chris getting to the station in a hurry after taking notice about what happened. With Wesker in command, Alpha Team then gears up and goes to the chopper. I want to control the camera in first perspective inside the chopper as we fly through the forest; then Brad lands the bird and the gameplay starts as we search in the dark for any track of Bravo Team, until the dogs appears and we take refugee inside this really big mansion surrounded by the dark forest. We need more gameplay, more locations, more story and more puzzles. I believe the story of Resident Evil Zero Remake could be a DLC this time, like the Separate Ways, with a 9 hours campaign

It's a very scary situation when you are surrounded by dead people and creatures and have less or no ammunition.

I hope they expand upon Barry & Rebecca even more. It always annoyed me how even in the remake that Rebecca was treated as a little bit helpless even though she just went through hell in RE0. I want to see more of Barry’s behind the scenes work, his experience as he has to betray Jill as much as he doesn’t want to. And your point about all 4 meeting and surviving, that’s the ending I want to see.

As a fan since the original in 1996, I'd love to see Rebecca's story from RE0 be an integral part of the new RE1 (with a remake of core parts of RE0 being a DLC?), which would help to explain why she is so frightened when Chris meets her. They could also flesh out Enrico' s character a lot more, to make his murder more tragic. We should also have a proper ending with all 4 surviving STARS members escaping the mansion together, rather than separate endings for Jill & Barry and Chris & Rebecca.

Best thing they can do is give us more time to invest in the Stars team. The wiki and lore states how close knit the entire unit was, this would really drive home the sole survivor syndrome as you're comrades are killed left and right. Could even do what they did with the alternate scenarios with Kendo and other notable side characters in RE2 and have you play as the other Stars members either leading up to their deaths or surviving what should have been their ends. Umbrella chronicles does this in a way as you playthrough Wesker's pov either leading up to his perceived death or his escape of the mansion before it explodes. Barry and Rebecca certainly deserve their own scenarios as well, either following their exploits or mirroring Chris and Jill's campaign. More importantly would be the inclusion of those two in both stories as it makes no sense you only see one of those two when playing a specific story while supposedly they escape the mansion as well. Funnily enough Kevin Ryman from the outbreak games would make an awesome cameo or mention as he was stated to be an officer with RPD who had taken the Stars entrance exam twice but failed both times. As well as other key figures such as Chief Irons, Marvin, etc. My only hope is that they keep the feeling of helplessness and terror as you wander the narrow hallways and strategize on dealing with the enemies. I certainly hope they keep the diverse enemies such as the giant spiders, Yawn, the giant, plant, Lisa Trevor, etc. Also wonder if Resident Evil 0 will be remade after or within a reasonable time to this.

the Resident evil 1 remake on the gamecube was already a perfect remake. it was even a much better remake than re4 or re2 remake. resident evil 1 remake is a perfect example how a remake should be like. Improving everything overall and adding slightly new things. it is literally perfect. there is no need to make a resident evil 1 remake. the resident evil 1 remake captured the original atmosphere of resident evil 1 perfectly

Re 1 & re 1 remake will always be close to my heart. Re 1 had that mystic atmosphere. U didnt know what was going on. And that made the game special to me.

Dear god I really hope this is happening!..I bought resident evil the day it was released In 1996 after seeing it in magazines for months..I was 12 at the time and it terrified me..but!..I loved it!..and still do today! :) I'm happy capcom are going strong as resident evil and street fighter are my favourite games..regards from dublin Ireland guys!

The mansion is the most iconic place in the RE series, I was 8 when I first stepped foot in the Spencer Mansion and I was absolutely terrified but I just couldn’t put it down, I really hope they make the mansion terrifying, the zombies, the dogs, the hunters, the claustrophobic terror. I really hope they do the original justice, I also would like different S.T.A.R.S members stories intertwined, we deserve this so much.

I would love a RE1 and RE0 remake that expands the stories and ties them together but for the love of GOD please remake Code Veronica. It's the true RE3 as it actually begins after RE2. RE3 is awesome but is more of an expansion of RE2. Code Veronica is criminally underrated.

I would love to see what a Resident Evil 1 Remake would have in store for piecing together the modern Resident Evil timeline. As it was confirmed in the Resident Evil 3 Remake that Jill, Chris, Rebecca, and Barry all escaped from the Spencer Mansion from a file found in Jill's apartment. This remake could be essential going forward possibly expanding upon different stories that happened with Rebecca and what happened to her before meeting up with Richard and running into Chris and Barry's story with what was going on with his family having been threatened by Umbrella and Wesker. But it would be awesome to see a briefing of the mission at the RPD before it got overrun in RE2 to kind of add onto what they would be walking into while also getting to explore around and see how it operated. RE4 Remake showed how much the game went above and beyond from the original with fans criticism and I hope Capcom does the same for RE1's modern remake.

I want the game to start as soon as the crew get off the helicopter & explore the forest for at least an hour until you reach the mansion. To be dark cold & foggy like SH games & zombie dogs occasionally popping out of the woods maybe a few regular zombies too.

All I'll say is, that the Keeper's Diary segment is going to be epic.

Take it back to the roots! Have the atmosphere of RE2 remake, make it freaking scary again! One fingers crossed wish, have some playing time as Bravo team. Play as Richard or Forrest as a prologue.

I think Capcom revisting RE1 and RE0 would be cool. I still think we need RE Code Veronica remake since it was supposed to be theb3rd entry in the series. But more RE makes me happy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm kinda meh about a REmake REmake, but at least from what we're hearing they're taking care with it.

Now they should emphasize more on the missing and killed off Bravo team members and have some scenes of what happened in the mansion before the outbreak. There's so much they can expand on. Like what the mansion looked like when it was a peaceful mansion.

Side mode of playing as Bravo members leading up to their end. Crimson heads in the shadows, somewhat hidden until you walk into aggro range. Then they burst out with their crazy speed. That way if you get a zombie kill and come back, the body is gone, but they are somewhere in the room. Waiting for you.. I'm just imagining turning a corner only to faintly see the outline of a red face and dead white eyes ready to pounce. Or a lightning strike shining through the window and they're just right there with you.

I'd love to explore Raccoon City and the RPD a bit. It sounds silly, but maybe the first thing you have to do is grab some coffees for the squad as Jill or Chris as you head into the station. Or something as heading to Kendo's to get your new Samurai Edge and then you test it out in the shooting range at the RPD. Just a bit of tutorial stuff before you head off to Raccoon Forest. Creating some depth to the city and it's citizens will make Raccoon feel like a character in itself. I could also see Rebecca and Richard escaping to the mansion as a sort of prologue that you aren't meant to "survive".

I was secretly hoping for a remake for Code Veronica ....

They really need to make it a longer game with more scenarios/Stories and maybe explore a lot more of the forest area maybe before they actually get to the mansion.

"That allows you to explore the Spencer Mansion in VR" There are just no words to describe the feeling this sentence just gave me... I think the day I put the VR headset on my head and stand in the mansion, I'm literally gonna cry. RE1R (2002) is without doubt the game that gave me the biggest videogame slap in my life. We'd just come out of the PS1/N64 period, I'd got my hands on a few GameCube games and BOOM, the graphic quality of this game slapped me in the face... Even today, it still has a very special flavor for me: its aesthetics, its atmosphere, etc... I'm starting to get really curious about this new remake. Although there's a part of me that doesn't really want to see anything “replace” the 2002 remake, so perfect is it in my eyes. I imagine that at the time, it hurt a lot of people to see RE1OG being replaced (same for RE2R & RE3R), as many people agree that REmake1 is one of the best surival horror releases ever, and one of the best remakes of all time. That said, I'm still very, very envious to see what it might look like 20-25 years later! The only thing I'm afraid of is losing that special atmosphere, which I think is partly due to the fixed camera angles. Having a third-person version will really shake things up, and I wonder whether it won't be even harder for Capcom to pull off a ReREmake1 than a RE4R (where they were eagerly awaited, and where they did really well). But as a VR fan, the idea of being able to walk through the Spencer mansion, a quarter of a century after discovering it, would be the greatest gift Capcom could give me!

Still enjoy the PS1 and GameCube versions. The Crimson Heads were extremely difficult. I got the strategy guide for the game cube and finally got the samurai edge to blast zombies! Oh what fun

I hope they do remake it, I don't think it would take away from the original remake at all, but instead give us a new spin on it and open up the story to a larger audience. I wish they would also do CV and Zero as well though it feels doubtful. Zero would be a great opportunity to clean up the shortcomings of its plot and design while bringing co-op back in the new RE style! Also, if they made an Outbreak 3 in the new style I think it could be huge!

Honestly that all sounds great! RE1 is my favorite game, so I’m stoked for another remake regardless.

they’re remaking everything BUT code veronica which is the only game in the series that arguably needs a remake. it’s getting ridiculous

I would like a noise mechanic introduced. Shoot a gun the noise will attract zombies to your area making it hard to get to where you need to go or to create a distraction, makes you think before you shoot. I think being able to carry keys and lock doors behind you or barricade a door. I just think the games have already been done, I would want more of a survival horror game where resources are useful and a more claustrophobic feel to the mansion. As to clearing out a corridor and knowing it's gonna be clear for the rest of the game. I dunno I just want something different.

For those against another remake, remember the original 2002 remake will still be there. It's always gonna be available. If you wanna play the actual 1996 og RE1, i would recommend trying to make your voices heard for a classic collection rerelease/remaster or if you play on pc, get into emulation

It was established that Lisa Trevor was the source for Birkin research to create later his G virus, so I really hope Capcom hasn't forgotten that fact and she will be in this remake.

The amount of extra content could be awesome. Would love a Prelude scenario where you play as Wesker with Umbrella dealing with one of the first experiments gone wrong!

The game will be in their new engine, so it’s not surprising that they want it to have a slower pace. Think of 7, first game on the new engine, not ‘slow’ perse but not anything close to what the games in the current engine have become. I think it’ll be basically a repeat, a slower pace will show how great the new REengine will look, before more faster paced games come out

I also felt like that another issue (Unique to the Remake) lore wise is how Barrys betrayal was structured in such a way that made him much less sympathetic compared to the original, and how after the last Lisa Fight, neither Jill or Barry question or further talk about the subject at all in spite of how hard it must have hurt Jill. I really hope this issue is fixed for the RE Engine remake.

Ah it brings back the memory of playing the original in 1997 when I was in school, the remake back in 2002, when I was in college, and now the new remake while I am in a full time job and halfway to retirement 😂, I’ll definitely be buying the new one 👍

I like the idea of the zombies being bullet sponges. Either that or reduced ammo, both would be effectively the same thing. Zombie games have been "Walking-Dead-Ized", where everyone gets a headshot every time. In Resident Evil you should be having anxiety trying to figure out whether to take a zombie down or maneuver around it. It should be resource scrounging because that's what it would really be like

3:25 I'd rather they just give us less ammo and make the enemies normally hard to kill than having them as sponges or more enemies. But of the two options you gave I'd rather have more enemies than having them as sponges.

A little lore added into the story to explain some of the mechanics might be a nice touch. For instance, the enemies requiring more bullets to take down could be explained by revealing that Wesker set up the STARS units from the beginning by replacing everyones ammo and weapons with .22LR variants, and him as captain would have ordered their equipment before the mission, but deemed this response to the mansion as a relatively low threat, with a suspect needing to have little to no opportunity to be met with fatal consequence, so .22LR was determined to be the chosen equipment to meet all the needs of the mission, but really it was Wesker setting up the STARS unit to fail miserably so that he can test different aspects of his experiments further. Lower caliber equipment means more rounds have to be utilized to bring down targets... so it's less that the enemies are "bullet sponges" and more reinforces the aspect that Wesker betrayed you, even to the level of giving all of you inferior equipment to ensure you'd die. I don't know, I feel like that'd be something simple to explain but adds that level of "I hate Wesker" that I think we're all looking for.

Having unique models for all the zombies sounds cool and makes more sense since it's a more contained area with fewer people rather than an entire city or village's population. Depending on how they do it, having the zombies be bullet sponges seems like the wrong way to go IMO. Having limited ammo and/or making the base zombies relatively easy to kill but the Crimson Heads sponge would be better since killing the zombies would be easy but if you can't burn them you're making more trouble for yourself later on.

I sure hope they wont ruin the RE remake remake. The 2002 one was perfect enough!

the 2002 remake was perfect! my first resident evil game was re2 and im so glad i played that first. after re2 & re3, i played the original re and it was so corny and 90s, i loved it lol. then played the remake and they added so much more playable content, and replay value. till this day, i still get lost in the spencer mansion. i dont know how this newer remake will top it.

Do you know what be amazing for the 30th anniversary...? If they incorporated zero into the story and have Rebecca mention it in the resident evil 1 parts. One big giant remake of both games combined.

Bullet sponge enemies are irritating. It would make more sense if there was barely any scattered ammo lying around. Hell, just bring the knife mechanics from RE2R. Once you ground a zombie with a couple of leg shots, you can go to work and make that limited ammo last.

Barry and Rebecca Dlc is key to making this right, also we need to find out what happens to or change the start of the game.....Barry goes missing as Chris.....Chris goes missing as Jill..... Yet they all run into the mansion

Bring back Billy Cohen. I honestly always felt that Billy Cohen should have been the protag in RE4 it just made more sense with his back ground. Leon should of went on to be the leader of the new STARS Team. Also you guys need to do play through of Crows Country

Makes sense if true some of the new fans that joined with Re7 might not know much about Wesker and giving him more screen time in remakes is a plus and can be set up to a Code Veronica remake and then Re5.

I honestly don't get why people say some games shouldn't be remade it's selfish they need to be remade so modern gamers can enjoy them and if they make remakes it's not gonna stop you playing the originals

Hey Capcom how bout a remake of RE3 Remake? Because it needs it more than the masterpiece that was the RE1 remake. I'm actually not joking when I say this, but I'd rather see them remake Survivor over RE1 for the 3rd time, or the rumored RE5 again. Because Survivor actually sucked its first go and could be totally reimagined and broadened in its gameplay, story and characters. Just like how they did with the RE1 remake. And I really dont care if the argument is that Survivor's protagonist, or its supporting cast is unappealing or whatever. I'm aware of how much a joke it was, but thats the point of the remake, make it interesting! I personally think if it looks good, people will buy it no matter if its a Survivor Remake. So in conclusion, I guess I'm of the mindset of remaking bad RE games....good RE games. K I'm done rambling with myself.

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Code Veronica HD REMASTER. That's what we REALLY NEED!

When it comes to more enemies vs less, it honestly just becomes a balancing issue between enemies vs. amount of ammo. What I'd like to see is a "hard" main game followed by a hollistic amount of unlockables. Guns, side missions, and uniforms. RE was originally designed around the fight or flight concept. It'd be nice to see them capitalize on the RE2R groundwork.

I really think this is the last game in the series that needs a remake. It's already been remade. The RE1 remake is on of the best games in the series. The modern rerelease on Steam even has quality of life changes like camera-relative controls, so there's really no excuse not to play it. Code Veronica needs a modern update so much more, and even RE5 could benefit from remake to make it into a game that's actually _good._ RE1 does not need it. The remake it already has is peak Resident Evil.

When it says expanding the lore, I do agree that they’ll probably connect Rebecca to 0 better, Barry and Rebecca to the ending, but I’m also thinking that they may connect the game to RE: Village and Miranda. Seeing as Spencer is said to be a student that met with Miranda back in the late 50s.

The resident evil remake on gamecube is alreay the perfect and best remake of all-time. Why touch something that set the standard? Shouldn't they try to remake Code Veronica next?

I have to make a comment here. There is indeed a way to save and have Rebecca at the end. It's been so long but in Chris's run through, you have to go back for her. Once you do she is at the end and in the chopper as well.

YES, Absolutely yes. As much as I want Code Veronica, I would love to see this Remake. The Crimson Heads added a Whole new layer of terror. Backtracking through completed rooms, no longer feels safe. Holding your breath while walking past every dead body. Not to mention the added layer of strategy, you can only afford to burn so many bodies, which ones do you choose? So good.

I want a RE1 remake that would be a nightmare to speedrunners. I want the game to think you're safe in a room you cleared hours ago without progressing to have zombie just bash in the door. But also have random screeches and screams mixed in with the thunder and rain outside. The goal is to never feel safe and that at any moment, no matter how many times you've entered the same room- anything can happen. It will keep you on your toes all the time, like survival horror should.

Who asked for a Re1 remake, again? Its a perfect example of REMAKE, and i doubt they will recreate magic again. Hope they will Remake Code Veronica before RE5, because we need more Claire action.

richard got two possible different deaths: snake or shark. Kenneth got more in depth with his shoulder camera death like joseph. So maybe they could somehow include a cinematic/more detailed explination of the death of Forest?
