Markiplier is probably one of the most REAL people I’ve ever seen on youtube. He has his stupid/silly side, but he also has had his moments where he’s sad, he’s been angry..he has such an amazing idea on what it means to be human.

It’s been two years and people still don’t understand this basic rule

4 years later and this is still being referenced everywhere, I even saw one of my classmates use this for our psychology project. Mark is probably one of the most understanding, and kind person out in the world, and it's amazing how 4 years later, he and so many others including myself still use this golden rule of "treat others how you want to be treated," and with the past 2 years with covid, I feel like we have grown more accustomed to this rule and we have grown as a society, hell, and have grown as a species. I want to take a moment to thank all of the people of Mark with his golden rule, or like Jack with his PMA, and so many others that are trying to convince people that we are the same, we may look different, but we all come from the same place, and that place is love, we all come from love, and I feel like it's only fair if we treat the world with love during our lives, and come out of the world with love still in our hearts. As a son, a brother, a friend, and as a boyfriend, I want everyone to love eachother.

I wish more people had Mark's mentality. The world would be a better place if they did.

i can only hope this video gets resurfaced by the algorithm and lets everyone hear this again. this is a lot more important now than even when this was uploaded, which is absurd. the lack of respect these days is downright awful.

You're a very smart guy Mark. I appreciate this video, in many ways. It's funny how it's so rare to come across the most simple of virtues these days.

This is years old But it applies no better than right now in todays society, no matter your opinions on anything.

I feel like the Twitter community needs to see this video. 4 years later but this never aged at all.

This is ridiculous. I was actually born and raised in Germany with family that have been slaughtered and murdered in WWII. My grandfather had eight siblings, and seven of them were killed. My grandmother's entire village was bombed and she watched as the survivors dug graves for those that died, as a little girl. My grandfather lost an eye along with use of his leg because of the schrapnel that came out of a bomb when it exploded near him. Terrible things happened to my family because of what they believed. My family has lost so much. At the same time, Felix made a joke. We know the intention that he had of the joke, he got a huge whiplash of hate after he made the joke, he was punished, and he did not deserve that. People make jokes about the WWI, the war of 1812, the American Revolution, The Civil War, and about so many situations and instances where something terrible happened. What happened was terrible, and it serves as an example of how sick humankind can be; at the same time, I am not upset and Felix making a joke. Felix's family was in Europe same as mine during WWII. Lord knows what his family has lost along with many others. And even if his family hadn't suffered, anyone with a brain can read the intention behind his words when he made the joke. It was not malicious Neo-Nazi intent. I am here to inform you that intention matters. He made a distasteful joke, and I get it. That's bad. He was told it was bad. He apologized. But making it so that his show is cancelled is absolutely ridiculous.

Just coming back to this video after the burglary in Felix's house. So many people laughing about it and saying he deserved it, it's disgusting to see the quantity of people that would treat someone like this, without realizing that the ones spreading hate are them

I am so proud of Mark. I started watching him when I was 13 years old, and this was also when he had about 100k subscribers on this channel. Its insane having watched him for so many years going from the nerdy guy playing indie horror games to the adult he has become now. And I feel like having him as that role model really pushed me and changed me in life to the adult I myself have become.

I love this message so much and I wish everyone in the world would hear this and understand it. Respect is one of the most easiest thing to do in the world that now people have twisted it in way that respect means something else then what it originally means. People tend to think that respect comes from people who are successful and have everything people tend to think if somebody corrects them or respect them knowing they aren’t successful and don’t have everything like that other person who has everything they say “Who are you the one to tell me this? Who are you the one to say this?”. And it doesn’t has to be that it can be like you said Mark a opinion, religion, race, etc. we still need to respect each other. I get it it’s hard and I struggle with that whenever someone is awful person and not doing things right I want to to say every hateful thing that’s coming from my anger and I immediately push it away before it gets the best of me. I just stay quiet and remind myself to not do it because I’m only doing the exact same thing as that person is doing holding anger and rage in your soul won’t do anything you’re only letting them win. And although people can be ignorant and an awful person please respect people we already have hate in the world and we don’t need more of it we should learn to love and respect each and every one of each other. But that choice comes in in yourself whether you want to make that choice or not it’s your choice whether you want to change for the better or continue doing the exact same thing whatever you choose that’s your choice no one will force you to make a choice. Whatever people choose please respect someone’s decision even if you strongly disagree with it please respect each other it’ll just be an never ending cycle of people being at each other’s throat’s. For me what I do when it comes to stuff like this and I feel the anger coming in and I’m about to say something awful I stop myself and I take a deep breath and remind myself it’s not worth it it’s a waste of time and I’m only gonna do the same thing of that person is doing. With that my anger goes away and I forget about it it helps me a lot or when I can’t do it since it wants to come out I pray so that way God will help me to not let it out and it works and helps me too. I know that theirs gonna be some people who disagrees with me and refuse to accept this and that’s okay I respect your choice and decision I don’t find a reason to argue with you and same for the people who agrees with me. Mark made one point clear (indirectly): Felix is a *person* . PewDiePie is a *comedian* - and at this point it doesn't matter if he is a good or bad one. Comedians tell jokes, they don't advocate. Jokes can be funny, they don't have to. What is funny? That is up to each one of us, because it is subjective. I think, if PewDiePie did something wrong, Family Guy and/or South Park did aswell, these shows just seem more tolerable for some reason, even if they label (sexism, racism, anti-semitism...) in a much more inappropriate way. And if Felix made a mistake, a Seth MacFarlane did make a much bigger one. I'd be glad to hear some input about his from you guys. How do you think about it?

I'm watching this back in 2021 and this is so true and its still a problem in my opinion worse then in 2017 the world needs to change for the better not for the worse. True, respect is totally lost. People start disrespecting as soon as they see you not agreeing with them. They can be respectful and at the same time tell why is the other person wrong according to them. But no. All my 20 years of life, i tried doing this with my friends & elders whenever any argument happened. I would be extremely respectful and cautious with my words and even apologise to them mid sentences if my explanation caused them any hurt. Results were, Elders would curse me, and call me disrespectful, my friends would think i am being an egoistic person by not agreeing with them. So they too, start disrespecting me and using names on me. I stopped being that person now. I don't respect anyone. It's hard being an understanding person. You understand people way too much, meanwhile taking bullets from other people cuz they don't wanna understand you & you do this while still keeping your calm. It's so painful. Now i start shouting my lungs off at people, imma also ready to throw fists whenever any disagreements happen. Thats what they want.
