I was thinking just the other day, "Man I wish Ben would start a RU-vid channel and upload his reactions there" as I don't have TikTok. This worked out nicely haha
Fresh King Ben, thank you for these enlightening insights. They help me to understand this system (polygamy) better and why some things seem “normal” to those in this system that is unfair to everyone. The fact that none of the kids have chosen to follow the lifestyle speaks volumes.
Not surprising that Logan and Aspyn are not interested (at this time) of having children of their own. They had to be parents to their siblings at an early age.
Kody is a traitor of the worst kind....to betray your entire first family, for a second hand frog in Victoria secret, that just so happens to "like everything you like😜😜😜wake up little Kody, wake up
Really astute insights - Looking forward to your episode reviews. This is very interesting because Ben’s content is getting down to the psychology behind bewildering behaviours we’ve witnessed on this show. It’s allowing viewers to get beyond the frustration (and eventually, appalling) behaviour of Kody and Robyn’s mindset and also sheds light on why the other wives acted the way they did. When you are not in a cult, we don’t necessarily make the connection to the specific drivers of such bizarre behaviour.
There's a lot to be said about the idea of consent as just agreeing to something or just not saying "no" vs true consent. With the idea of being born into polygamy rather than choosing it, I see that playing into why Christine specifically starts to feel more comfortable with voicing her concerns and later leaves Kody as she, either through the show or through her children growing up, starts to explore other lifestyles, other types of relationships, etc.
I appreciate how you make it known this is the core of Mormon culture as a whole and not just FLDS or Kingston or AUB stuff. Many don’t understand this is the Mormon Cult to the core
Love! Love! Love! That you put these responses on RU-vid. So you think early Kody was a better father? Like before the show when the older kids were young?
@@brightlinebetty1258 Or perhaps in the context of a cult, shepherds (exulted male) use their power, position of authority and polygamy teachings (shepherd’s tools) to control, guide, direct, manipulate his stock of sheep (family members as owned property) in accordance to the shepherd’s plans for them. The sheep don’t make the decisions, they (obediently) follow the shepherd. And if they don’t follow, the shepherd has ways to bring them back into the fold.
