Can I ask you something? I have a German helmet at home and I would like to make it more shiny, but at the same time I plan to put a decal on it. Do you think that the decal on the helmet would hold even if there was a clear coat on it?
@@user-gc1uz2sq1t I do beleive towards the end of the war the Nazis had child soldiers. And that allied forces would rather capture them than shoot them.
Ahh...the debate continues...to refurbish or not. Personally, if a relic has nothing left in terms of original paint or decals, then why not refurbish? I like to use the classic car comparison...nobody wants to see a rusty piece of crap that can't be driven, and everybody appreciates a good classic car restoration. Yes cars or helmets are pieces of history...but there is nothing wrong with living history...seeing artifacts as they would have looked when being used by the original owners, so many years ago...how the original owners would have felt being issued with it and trying it on for the first time, or living with it throughout the conflict...
