Look at this logically... Meat cleaver without a sharp end just thick metal until he makes it sharp? So meat cleaver shape only. Covered in dirt or some crap before start. No one will sell it like this. Just moving it and the dirt will flake off but nope here it all is. Even "rust" all over indicates a rusting agent was sprayed on it all. The chanel project farms tells you how to make rusting agents. Then he "restores" the thing he wrecked. That part and effort is real... Question is, were you entertained? TV shows are all fake and maybe they are entertaining. These fake resto videos are the same... Made to entertain.
I'm no genius but I'd guess the manufacturer didn't have a mostly rust pitted blade when it was put out to the public. Sooooo, "perfect restoration"?? Yeah it looked good when you finished but maybe "perfect" is the wrong word to use..
