What a truly great episode. . . so well written and acted. You are right, Jeremy, we would have seen some wonderful scripts from Burris and Ware had a fourth season been ordered. These four stunning actresses had just melded into a rare type of comedy team, pretty yet funny and playing off of each other so brilliantly with their movements, facial expressions and line delivery. Bill and I were at an industry party when we heard Bob Iger (head of ABC at the time) say he probably should have kept JTTOU on the roster. I just about dropped my cocktail. Every replacement show they slotted into that Friday night time slot was a critical and ratings disappointment. Oh, what could have been!! Thank you for taking me back in time.❣️

It's nice that they admitted their mistake. How many people do that? And Bill's work on this show was incredible in so many ways.

@@sha11235 Reminds me of when Brandon Tartikoff said his greatest professional regret was cancelling 'Buffalo Bill'. This was just as bad a move, artistically; and from a business standpoint, even worse. At least with 'Buffalo Bill' you had the excuse of it being a bit a critical darling misunderstood by the public. With 'Ten Of Us', you had show that was well-written, but still accessible to the average viewer. Most importantly, the fact ABC deprived Warners of the marketing bonanza from a potential "Lubbock Babes" album, or the affiliates of a "Lubbock Babes" concert series, just leaves me shaking my head. Just move it back to Wednesday! Let NBC pick it up! Shows even the best network heads sometimes become network 𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙚heads.

Thank you , Jeremy!!!! Truly. Your doing this has brought us all so much joy in a challenging time. A reboot would be amazing, please keep trying for that! So sad this show didn’t last longer! I’ve mentioned this before, but it was briefly mentioned somewhere (in the reunion video?) that there’s a gag reel floating around somewhere (when I posted about it on the Facebook group a couple people said they had it). Jeremy, thanks for pointing out the shot Marie gives Connie about how if she were dancing at the dead guy's table instead he would still be alive. We talk about the Cindy fat jokes but the Connie being unattractive theme was also pretty steady. We will see the worse example coming up in the series finale in 2 weeks, and while I can understand it was the writer's way of getting laughs, I often felt badly for Connie/JoAnn with all the gibes she received at her expense. Nowadays we know how hurtful it can be to denigrate a young woman's attractiveness, and I kind of wince every time this happens to her.

After my own synopsis on Fandom, I realized one specific detail that Jeremy may not have noticed: that a random person recognizing that he/she is at the wrong memorial service/funeral is a common theme in generational sitcoms, most likely to "uplift" a somber scene with comic relief.

I have a number of comments to make and my screen is malfunctioning, so please expect to see multiple comments that may not be completed. Let's begin with you, Jeremy. Let me firstly thank you for your time and effort and energy that you put into this, by creating this space that so many of us have been yearning for, and let me give you a very big up for that!! It is so true that this show was so far ahead of it's time, on so many levels. It was a trendsetter: on the sexiness, on the credits customized to flash at distinct times during the opening of some episodes and the humor they were able to get by with. The actors took their work seriously and it showed. Let me end this first comment and send you a second. There are many that I have for you.

Laugh out loud moments for each of us (like when you laughed at Sister Ethel's line in That Championship Season). 4. Touching moments. 5. Best moments of a character, either from the family or recurring character, like Sister Ethel. 6. Fan favorite episodes. 7. In-jokes.

The repeat of this episode (July 27, 1990) marked the last time JTTOU aired on network television. And while its premature cancellation was disappointing, this was the way I would have wanted the show to go out. You were left with the feeling that Marie was going to be okay, just before the final fade to black. Spoiler alert revisited: Listen for and ID the theme song playing at 27:19, as Jeremy suggests.

Marie was really getting down performing for the second time with her sisters (the lubbock babes)at Danny's pizzeria at the twenty one minute mark. she exhibited a loose and uninhibited style that never ever displayed in her prior performances.neither did her sisters (not even wendy!) sure, they danced, but not even close to marie's performance.showing off some surprisingly limber dance moves. not surprising since she performed on cbs' circus of the stars acrobatic act.
