Wow, that first shot of the car sans stripes was awesome. Quiet, yet dangerous. After the cut and polish, wicked is the only word. Then you put the striping back on. For the first time, the car looked dated. My opinion is every special edition should be returned to original. Eating some crow about how good a simple paint job really is. Love those G=bodies.

Waiting to see more about the engine in this thing. Looks like it was a 455 rocket. I did the same swap in my 83 Cutlass. Had to ditch the AC to make it fit, but it was worth it!

There's a citrus decal remover spray that works very well too, used it to remove decals from a old school bus 7-8 years ago

The '80's was a transitional time. I had an '82 GP that was enamel. Dad had an '84 Bonneville that was 2 Stage Base/Clear. Granny had an '85 GP that was lacquer. You never knew what you were getting without the window sticker or running the numbers.

Another good tip for removing decals is to park your car in direct sunlight for a few hours and let the sun soften the decals up. if decals are still 100% intact they should peel right off in one piece. if the decals are all cracked and dry rotted then your gonna be there for a while and will be letting the curse words fly. Lmao. Those erasers work very well also but plan on having to buff out the vehicle after using them. also happy to see someone else take a clay bar to all the glass. it helps out a lot especially if you coat your windows with a repellent like aqua glass ceramic treatment or aquapel.

love these cars. i bought my first nice car in 86. was/is an 81 olds cutlass calais. still have it! really liking the hurst olds in this vid. not a fan of the wheel choice though.. would have kept the factory rallies.

My Dad was an Auto bodyman, I helped him by scraping the screaming chicken off firebird T\A and it sucked, I used a razor blade and it only came off in small sections. Took me hours😣😣

I would of removed the scoop and the rear spoiler before the detail and did it right you could of done a complete buff and cut and polish on the spoiler underneath and the supports and cut and buff under the spoiler to finish the deck lid . That guy buffing around the spoiler and leaving the oxidized paint under it and oxidized paint around the spoiler just bugged the shit out me. Would of taken 15 minutes to pull the spoiler and hood scoop to do it right

I can't understand why they would ruin that stock appearance of that anniversary edition Oldsmobile and remove the stock classic look and cut out the frame, and that alone just ruined the car! And it will never be a collector edition anymore because they weakened the frame and just to be able to adjust the height, there aren't many of those cars left anymore and now doing that to it, Just means there's one less. Why couldn't they do that to a different car rather than an Oldsmobile. I don't understand it!
