The happy medium Mrs. October mentioned at 41:26 would have been Marcella. Sad King's Landing did not follow Dornish laws. Marcella would have been a remarkable Queen. Marcella would not have been a psychotic tyrant brat like Joffrey, or a boy like Tommen who is way over his head. She would have been strong, not cruel and kind, but not weak.
He smashes the guy with the rock in Vaes Dothrak to conceal the knife wound. He smashed in the spot where he stabbed the guy. They're not supposed to be carrying weapons in Vaes Dothrak.
just circling back to Mr October being adamant Jaime was a bad guy full stop because he pushed Bran out of a window but now Tormund is a 'good dude' even though he's been pillaging and murdering people all his life? :-D love the vids keep it up :)
To be honest, I tried to be more consistent, but the more I done that the more people got upset and said things like after your channel never watching your videos again so what’s the point? For the sake of the show, I will like these characters, but if this was real life, I would 🔪 them in their sleep.
You guys asked a little while ago what our fravite moment in the series is for me this is it jon and sansa reunion it was emotionally strong and the first time since season 1 she truly feels safe and protected
I would much rather have you pause to have a conversation with you wife than to let it play on during that conversation and at least have it seem like you miss stuff.
@@windingroad9196 He DID lie in one or both conversations. That's the missing storyline. It was clearly written on purpose, to show something. Otherwise there would be a need for exactly ZERO stories about his shoes. It's a bit like the Pycelle thing. Without the deleted conversations with Tywin, the Pycelle thing is very pointless. It makes a little more sense when you've seen that deleted scene, but still feels like there was more to it, that was cut out, or never written in the first place
Been following you since season 1 and first time im writing in. Wanted to tell you that you two are very similar to me and my girlfriend in personality and humor, and I love the authenticity in your reactions and conversations. No matter what anyone says keep being 100% yourselves. Now - let’s watch more people die! Let’s go!!
I prefer Tommen 100%. I'd rather have a king with limited power than a horrible king who could kill me on a whim and nobody would do anything to stop it.
Would have been great if there was a tag scene and the dead khals woke up in the night-lands, to find Khal Drogo waiting, like, "You should have listened to her"
The "poisoned by our enemies" line is probably meant to be a purposely weak lie with Ramsay wanting everyone to know he's not to be fucked with. While it's never mentioned on the show, in the books Roose Bolton is famously paranoid about poisoning and employs a food taster, so this would be a virtually impossible way for him to go.
i might be wrong but i think ive read that one reason why jaime really didnt like Ned was because he knew there was something fishy about Ned "beating" Ser Arthur Dayne
Ned confronted Jamie in the throne room before going to his sister. Also they didn’t really say Ned beat him it just known that howland reed saved Ned life and they don’t talk about it.
You've been waiting since the red wedding to see the Starks make a return. That hug was a culmination of murder, torture, and other terrible acts. The strength of House Stark did not die like first thought.
Tormund Giantsbane - "When I picked you up as a crow, these Thenns wanted to eat you. They ain't never tasted any Southerners before. I saved your life!"
There's a lot of fan theories about this but it seems unlikely. Lysa and LF would have had to have been canoodling in King's Landing where Varys, the Queen and many others have spies all over the place. The risk is too high. It seems more likely that LF held out the carrot of agreeing to marry Lysa if only she would agree to kill her husband.
This was a wild time for GoT bc the real time gap between seasons 5 and 6 was over a year, and bookreaders also had no idea what was going on with stabbed Jon Snow bc this is where the book plot stands for him.
It's always funny how people miss the parallels between Melissandre and Daenarys, they both burn people alive and have magical powers. But for some reason everyone adores Dany and despises the red woman. It's hilarious
I always thought the sword fight with Ser Arthur Dayne & Ned were those 'real swords' he heard while watching Arya practice with Serio. Just my thought.
@Cream-2128 oh that could be too...idk. I just know PTSD when I see it. And Ned clearing was having a triggering moment when watching Arya with Serio & you hear the wood sword then suddenly you hear actual swords clashing. And he has a concerned/PTSD moment in the doorway
Some FYI: - Smashing up a dagger wound with a rock means there is no dagger wound that can be seen. - You guessed right the first time. Brazier bowls are filled with a slow burning oil & Dany spilled them. - Margaery Tyrell was only found guilty of lying to protect her brother. Since that is "a far lesser crime", she has been treated far better than Loras was treated. Cersei wasn't treated as badly as Loras, but worse than Margaery.
To your first point, it’s actually just an error in writing. Daario stabs him in the heart. Later on the Khal says that he got his head smashed in by a rock. Something doesnt add up lol.
It’s a shame the show didn’t bother with ‘the great Northern conspiracy’ in the books you get to know other great Northern Houses and you see that they are still fiercely loyal to the Starks and actively working against the Boltons.
@49:44: it is exactly what happened. Daenerys and the young ex Khaleesi she spared probably poured oil everywhere before the meeting. And as we saw, then, Jorah and Daario barred the door. I was happy that it happened, it was one of my predictions, fueled by a Quaithe prophecy from the books they did not keep in the show. Quaithe is the mysterious masked women we meet in Qarth in season 2. She says to Daenerys: « To go north, you must journey south, to reach the west you must go east. To go forward you must go back (…) ». It means that before getting to Westeros, Daenerys must stay in Essos. And revisit her past (the Dothraki) before being able to move forward. Also, you may consider that when Rhaego (Dany and Drogo’s child) died, the prophecy made by the Dosh Khaleen in S1E6 transferred to Drogon and Daenerys. He was her son reborn in fire, « the stallion who mounts the world » and she has indeed become « the khal of khals who will unite all khalasars ».
all ex-Khaleesis were confined to one building. The meeting was done on the main building in the whole area. I seriously doubt anybody could just walk in and start spreading oil. There is no hint that something like that happened. The fire-lamp probably had oil and it spread all over the place. Probably there were carpets and the whole place was made with wood.
@@fernandof.2225 nope. The meeting takes place in the very same place where all the widows live, the Temple of the Dosh Khaleen (as explained in the HBO ‘After the episode’ featurette.
Re: the fire in the braziers spreading -- I think to have a consistently burning flame with coals in the brazier, there would probably be some sort of fuel in there too? Because the coals aren't just red hot like charcoal, there are open flames continuously burning. I can't think of anything which would make a charcoal-like substance maintain a continuous flame, so I've always assumed its some sort of Dothraki fire juice or whatever helping to fuel those flames...and that's what spread when the braziers were tipped?
@bigyetter are you responding to my comment or that they mentioned the burning coals (with no visible liquid) 3x? Cuz I'm just trying to give the October's a potential Game of Thrones type explanation. Obviously oil has been burned forever, but nobody saw any oil or flammable liquid in the braziers...right? I don't know of any rock-like charcoal-looking substance that, by itself, would flame steadily like the fire in the braziers, yet spill out like a liquid. Mr October pointed out the lack of liquid multiple times, im just making a fun little comment in the spirit of the fantasy world that is game of thrones. Not looking for a historical perspective on flammable liquids. 😂. But thank you! 😆
As much as people hated Ser Alliser, he stayed true to his beliefs until the end. I think had Jon explained what he had seen at Hardhome, had a meeting with everyone at Castle Black, maybe they wouldn't have killed him. But there was no dialog, so all they saw was him bringing the wildlings in, and they've been fighting the wildlings all their lives.
Like many rangers in the NW, Ser Alliser had an irrational hatred for Wildlings. Like most rangers, he surely must have had friends who were killed by them. Also, at this point in time, the NW had been fighting Wildings for centuries so the idea of joining forces with them was inconceivable. And consider Ollie. His parents were killed in front of him by the Wildlings. No matter what was said about Hardhome, there's just no way he was ever going to join up with them.
The scene with Tyrion, Greyworm and Missandei is a set up for the meeting with the Masters. Tyrion is sizing up the two of them first ... and he comes away unimpressed. While perfectly adequate for their normal duties, they are too literal and therefore useless for the meeting that follows. Everyone talking in the scene with the Masters is being deceitful. We know the Masters are funding the Sons of the Harpy so one of the chief reasons they come to Meereen is for reconnaissance, i.e. to see how well their disruption of Meereen is working, especially with regard to Daenerys and her dragons. They see a) all of Dany's ships burned in the harbor (from Ep1), b) no Dany, c) no dragons, d) The SOTH still wreaking havoc. Instead of Dany they see Tyrion and Varys who they do not know. It is at this point that Tyrion starts to bluff because of how weak their position appears. The seven year slavery phase out is not a real deal. It is a bluff to buy time. Varys understands this but Greyworm and Missandei are again to literal to see the big picture.
25:33 Mrs. October's face was EVERYTHING! 42:46 They didn't know what they were going to do to Cersei. Plus, Lady Olenna HATES Cersei! She KILLED her son! 46:52 I was wrong, THAT was worth the reaction. 50:56 there was oil in the torches keeping them lit for long periods of time so when she spilled them, any splash just caught fire on the way down, making it look like the fire rolled up the stairs, at least, I THINK.
“Who would you prefer, someone like Joffrey or the complete opposite like Tommen?” I have to be honest, there’s a lot of moments after Joffrey died that I was like “oh Joffrey would’ve NEVER let this happen!”😂 Mrs. O is right tho, in a perfect world there would be a medium
3 of the top 6 GOT episodes in raw avg. vote on IMDB, by hundreds of thousands of voters, are yet to come THIS SEASON. Don't believe the book readers, I mean the naysayers. As good as season 4 was, not one in real raw avg. vote surpassed the top 3 of this season.
@@TheOctobersReact Yes. Made with similar material like Vylarian Steel. It is said to be made from the material of a fallen meteorite forged for the House Dayne. Ser Arthur Dayne is a Kingsguard for the Targaryens; hence the dragon symbol on the chest armor.
You know why you guys can't say that this show has fallen off??? Because the people who say it does after a certain season, are just haters. 🤷 I'm here for YOUR reactions.. definitely not their's. None of them are authors, directors, or producers. Don't let garbage takes influence your opinions. You'll either love it or hate it yourselves... But nonetheless you deserve to discover it for yourselves!
@TheOctobersReact The show hasn’t fallen off yet…to me it doesn’t happen until the second half of Season 8. Which is a bad time to drop the ball….soooo hard. But I think you guys won’t hate it as much as everyone who watched every week as they aired. Who dedicated 8 years to this series. I notice people who binge the entire series for reactions don’t quite hate the ending as much as the fans who watched as it airs. So hopefully you’ll find some enjoyment out of it.
PLEASE React to these Action & Comedies or Both: Starring Chris Evans Cellular The Ringer, Date Night, Big Stan, Netflix Gabriel Iglesias: Stadium Fluffy, Netflix Jo Koy: Don't Make Him Angry, and Fired Up
Maybe you don’t remember, but Daenerys has been to Vaes Dothrak before. It’s the city of the horse lords, and it’s where she allowed Khal Drogo to kill her brother Viserys with the “golden crown”.
Honestly, one little thing that bothers me on this episode, that I only realized now after a gazillion of watches, is how easily Robin Arryn decides that they should help Sansa. In fact it makes too little sense if you take into account their last encounter where Sansa even slapped him. At that age, that should have left a very sour taste on Robin, and judging from his character, he would never care for her, even though she is his cousin. Meh !! Details details but yeah its kinda bad writing !
I think Tyrion's brain might lose some of it's sharpness.... he can't have the clever conversations he hand in Kings Landing, and I haven't seen him read at all.
The whole "they must have oiled it" remarks...this is where it starts. This is you guys trying to rationalize the stupidity of the latter seasons. We've been there. Just let the stupidity wash over you in season 7 and 8 to best enjoy it.😅
While the show does fall off after Season 6, there are still many amazing episodes and moments, and also, I think being able to go through all 8 seasons now, without waiting years in between seasons, definitely helps them go down easier.
No one: you have to be able to convince them. You have to tell a lie indistinguishable from the truth. If they catch a lie, they hit you with a stick. Arya is ready, once she says she is no one and they trully believe her. We as an audience dont know if she trully became no one, or she became good at lying. Tho it convinces the cult enought to initiate her, it doesnt convince the waive.
Hopefully this isn't a spoiler by asking this but, out of curiosity based on what you've seen so far and it not being mentioned as often. Have you figure out who Jon Snows mother is or have any theories on who it could be? The books hints at it more then the show but there is hints but there very subtle. The show will throw them out there here and there.
Dirt floors were typically oiled to stop them producing dust. But no, it would never catch fire just from a brazier being pushed over. It's just some shiz the show needed to happen.
Season 6 drops off in the sense that it kind of stops feeling like game of thrones and it comes across as rather rushed. In saying that I did enjoy season 6 and everything that comes up later is more of a rap up of all the stories. I look forward to your reactions regardless of my opinion. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come
The three eyed raven is only like 130 and has been in the tree even less time than that, idk what’s up with the 1000 year thing unless he’s talking about the weirwood net more generally.. still a weird line tho
That's why, I think that D-and-D did Jon "dirty", in season 8. I mean, even in season 7, Jon were very decisive and strong. Then season 8 came.... bleeuugh
Guys, I think this is the most I've enjoyed your reactions, when Jon says "my watch is ended" boy that was baller I think I felt exactly like you did. BTW.... don't believe the haters, this show just gets better, I LOVE THE ending personally, for me it makes sense, just enjoy yall
Those fires are oil I’m sure you put it together after awhile. Nobody put oil in there….there is always oil in there that’s how they burn for so long without any wood in there. It’s like an ancient oil lamp.
