Use these 5 easy steps to discover How to reverse type 2 diabetes for good naturally.
Each step is something you can control and take charge of for better blood sugar numbers and improved blood sugar control.
You can take the nexts once you understand which parts of your lifestyle have the most impact on your blood sugar over time.
At first, these things can feel a bit overwhelming. Ideally you'll come away feeling informed, encouraged, and empowered to take charge of improving your health.
Remember it usually takes time to develop type 2 diabetes and it might take some time to naturally improve your situation and reverse type 2 diabetes for good.
The steps we cover include: nutrition, meal timing, sleep, stress, exercise and strength training. These are key factors in how to reverse type 2 diabetes for good, naturally.
Many people prefer to reduce their dependence on medication, where possible, and approaches that focus on lifestyle steps are common sense ways to naturally reverse type 2 diabetes for good.
This inspires people once they have the info they need to make healthy choices and minimize or eliminate interfering factors.
And what does "for good" mean in this context? Once a person's A1C blood sugar reading reaches 5.6 and lower, and stays there for years, it demonstrates that they have reversed type 2 diabetes.

Thx so much. A1C has been 6.3 for years. I am abt to be 65 years old. I had Weight loss surgery. I workout doing water Aerobics 3 x's per week for 69 min eah yime. with water weights. I water jog with weights for 50 min 3x's per week. That's a total of 300 min each week. I cant get that A1C to move. My Dr put me on 1000 mg Medformin 2 weeks ago. Began with 500 mg 2 x's per day for 1 wk, then 1k mg 3x's per day beginning last week. I was on Medformin 500 mg 2x's per day for an entire year while I was in pre-surgery for Bariatric Sleeve and my A1C did not move 1 iota! My Bariatric Surgeon just put me back on initial post surgery diet- to re-set the weight loss- of clear liquids for 1 week; then full liquids for 1 week week, then soft diet for 1 week. Finally, I am to begin and remain doing intermittent fasting.. We will see. I live a hilistic lifestyle and do not want to take these meds. Your info shared was very informative. I am not loding the weight I shld be losing. Please advise?

My biggest issue has been a drastic weight loss. I've lost 28 pounds in the last 5 months since I've made changes to my diet and started exercising - I'm now down to 151 pounds on my 6'4" frame. Cut out carbs, eat lots of protein, fast 14 hours and my HbA1C has gone from 8.0 to 5.6, stopped taking insulin, but the weight keeps dropping...
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates Месяц назад
I'm glad for your success with lowering your A1C so quickly. Congratulations on that part! It sounds like you are now underweight for your height of 6'4". Please be sure to see a doctor or other qualified health professional to address the weight loss if you are concerned about it being too much. It's possible you are also losing too much muscle; muscle is very important for achieving and maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. Technically, muscle wasting is called "sarcopenia". Taking steps to retain and build muscle might help you keep your weight at a level you prefer, and help keep your blood sugar levels in the healthy range.

Hello Dr. Yates. I just subscribed to your channel. The information you presented was a concise compilation of introductory facts on the path to reversing diabetes. Knowledge is the beginning of power. In order to take control of this disease process, we must be thoroughly educated on the steps required to regain an optimal level of health and the ability to appropriately and permanently reverse T2D. You have provided us with a new start to a healthier life free of diabetes. Thank you for this valuable information! I look forward to future presentations

Thank-you Dr. , your advice is clear and well balanced. I was surprised though, that you didn't address the carbs, sugar and highly processed foods in our culture and diet. My mother who recently died at the age of 95, was diabetic and had both legs amputated. She was Jamaican and loved her rice and peas, patties and ginger beer. I am also diabetic (in remission). I adopted a low carb diet 8 months ago and dropped 70 pounds and my A1C has dropped from about 10mmols to about 6. I do still eat some fruit and lots of green vegetables for fiber and I do also use whole fat dairy as well. But no grains, sugars, seed oils or processed foods---I cheat occasionally.
@DrBeverlyYates

Hi. You're welcome. Congratulations on your success in putting type 2 diabetes in remission - yay for you! Focus and commitment pay off over time. I am sorry for the loss of your mother. In this video I focused on the steps to reverse type 2 diabetes, naturally, and did not focus on the root cause issues that lea to type 2 diabetes. That is a different video. The highly processed, ultra refined, no good for anyone junk in our food systems is a big part of the problem, but not the only factor, as we both know.

Very important information also be aware that many medications also elevate blood sugar as a side effect that worsens over time until it progresses to diabetes. Be mindful of the medication you take and their side effects. Not all pharmaceutical companies produce products that are in the best interests of the consumers health. test your blood sugar before and after taking them even if you haven't been diagnosed as diabetic testing your blood sugar to see how the foods, dietary supplements, alcohol or anything that your consuming affects your body is crcial to good health anf longevity. You're more responsibile for the outcome of your heath than a doctor. Take control through educated choices

You are Awesome, best explained video & very transparent. I’m prediabetic and I was eating a lot of carbs (pancakes, biscuits cereal and oatmeal by it self )which I’m hoping with diet change will do the trick. I also work overnights and my sleep patterns are not the best. I’m taking metformin for next 90 days, but my blood sugar is always between 88-95 which makes me feel fatigued. Any ideas or thoughts.
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates 20 дней назад
Thank you for your kinds words. I appreciate it. Now that you know you are prediabetic you can take action. I commonly see that lots of people eat the kinds of carbs that likely cause blood sugar spikes without concentrated protein and leafy green vegetables. Lots of carbs by themselves at meals is a classic way to get in trouble with blood sugar levels. Another way to get in trouble with blood sugar levels is working overnight. Poor sleep all by itself can cause problems with blood sugar levels. Please do what you can to fix your sleep issues and if possible, change your work schedule so you make it easier to have healthy blood sugar levels. I wish you well.

Please keep up the good work. It sounds like you found what works for you, which is important. Some people do really well on a whole food, plant-based no-oil or low-oil way of eating. I've found that human nutrition is not "one size fits all" as we have bio-individual responses to foods. Once you find what works for you, it makes sense to keep doing it. Bravo!

I have been trying to get on a regular sleep schedule for years.Ive read numerous books on sleep watched videos. Nothing has worked. I'm a Type 2 Diabetic on metformin. Any suggestions? Ive tried magnesium and melatonin.
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates 20 дней назад
Sleep is something that is a struggle for some of us, and easy for others. There is still quite a bit for us to learn about sleep. Some people find they sleep better if they exercise during the day. Others find that having a wind down routine before bed really helps improve their sleep, Depending on our age, there can be hormonal imbalances (cortisol, etc.) that interfere with getting consistent, restful sleep. Avoiding screens that emit blue light for at least 2 -- 3 hours before bedtime helps some people improve their sleep. I hope you find what works for you. It's no fun when sleep is difficult.

I was just prescribed ozempic for type 2 diabetes what are your thoughts on it
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates 12 дней назад
This drug can help people who've run out of options. For some it is life-saving, for others they don't tolerate miserable side effects of nausea, GI distress, etc. I think it is best to do what works for you and your health goals. Ozempic, like all medications for type 2 diabetes, still requires that you make any necessary lifestyle adjustments, such as nutrition, meal timing, stress management, great sleep, exercise and strength training.

Hi what are your thoughts about Metformin and sauna use??? I have noticed I am sweating a lot at night and never did that .i was diagnosed 2 months ago and still coming to term with that .I am going through a lot of you tube videos to see what is working or what could work for me .Since I was diagnosed I have stopped alcohol and sugar and I am very strict with myself. In the early evening I am under 95 but in the morning I am back around the 130 . This puzzles me because I do not eat or drink anything after the last reading the evening before . Can you explain this please .Kind regards Philip and greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates Месяц назад
Hi Philip. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself; this is important. Please be sure to ask your doctor about this. Be aware that sauna use requires staying hydrated. Generally speaking, here are some considerations. When it comes to metformin use and sauna bathing for people with diabetes, there are a few important considerations to keep in mind: Blood Sugar Effects -- Sauna use can potentially affect blood glucose levels in people taking metformin: Sauna bathing may enhance insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake, which could lead to lower blood sugar levels. The heat and sweating from sauna use can increase the risk of dehydration, which may concentrate blood glucose levels. Metformin absorption and effectiveness could potentially be altered by the increased blood flow and vasodilation that occurs during sauna bathing. For these reasons, it's important for people on metformin to monitor their blood sugar levels more closely when using a sauna and be prepared to treat hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if needed.

Hello Dr. Yates, thank you for your video. I just got to know that my blood sugar levels are high through GTT. It’s 12.8 after two hours. I have tingling sensation chills in my hands after each meal. Am I in bad state. Is there any hope of reversal for me?
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates Месяц назад
I wonder if you have a typo above? You typed that your GTT = 12.8 after 2 hours, which sounds extremely low. If you meant 128, it's good to know that a value less than 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L) is normal. Please see a doctor ASAP as I can't give medical advice here; they can evaluate the tingling sensation you shared. With focus and consistent healthy habits, many people are able to reverse type 2 diabetes.

Thanks Dr, very informative. But my problem is that no-one talks about how someone that does night shift tackle health issues like prediabatic and T2D. All of us don't do 9-5 or day shift. It will be more beneficial to me with night shift routine plz mam. Thanks

You raise an important issue. The health impacts of night shift or rotating shift work are not commonly discussed when talking about prediabetes or T2D. It's a missed opportunity to help people who do shift work, like my parents did for many years. I get it. I've added this topic to the list of future videos. Thank you for your comment.

What advice do you have found someone who recently found out that they are pre diabetic with an A1C of 6.5 to reverse
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates Месяц назад
Advice - take action * now * to reverse A1C back to a healthy range of 5.6 or lower. Watch the other videos here on my channel about diabetes and blood sugar. Technically an A1C of 6.5 is type 2 diabetes, not prediabetes. Don't let this get away from you; take action, with a focus on nutrition, meal timing, stress, sleep, exercise and strength training. Please take of yourself.

It is important to weight the benefits of a medication against its side effects. Most if not all medications for type 2 diabetes also say that you must make needed lifestyle changes in order to really benefit from the meds. It's in your interests to do all you can on the lifestyle side to restore healthy blood sugar levels ASAP. This includes healthy nutrition, meal timing, great sleep, effective stress management, consistent exercise and strength training. These are the 5 Steps of The Yates Protocol to Fix Your Blood Sugar.

This is a good mindset and point of view. Take action, with the lifestyle steps, and use the medicine to buy you time to put the healthy lifestyle steps in place. Dread what happens if you don't take care of the things you need to do to be healthy.

Drinking fruit juices that says 0 sugar added, will those affect diabetes?
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates Месяц назад
Yes. Any fruit juice is likely to affect diabetes by causing worse blood sugar levels and likely blood sugar spikes. Fruit juice is not good for type 2 diabetes. Fruit juice can be used in an emergency for type 1 diabetes to get quickly get blood sugar out of the basement if a type 1 diabetic is experiencing a hypo (hypoglycemic) episode.
@ZitaZone
@ZitaZone 14 дней назад
I did not know that if your A1C stay at the correct numbers over years, and there are no big blood sugar spikes, you are no longer diabetic. Doctors should tell this to patients. I was left on my own. It was like go and do your own research
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates 12 дней назад
Doctors should tell patients what the blood sugar numbers mean, including A1C and fasting blood sugar numbers. It is possible to reverse type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. Once someone regains healthy blood sugar levels, they are no longer diabetic BUT if they don't keep up the necessary healthy lifestyle habits and their blood sugar numbers return to the levels of type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, they are back in the diagnosis.

Intermittent fasting and keto = low carb foods will reduce your weight drastically and lower your blood sugar and pressure at the same time. I did it and had a new life till date. Lost so many pounds and gained extra energy to my greatest suprise. So ignore the doctor. He is playing a big pharma script.

How do I gain weight being prediabetic?
@DrBeverlyYates
@DrBeverlyYates Месяц назад
This is an interesting question. I can't give medical advice here. You might consider focusing on strength training as a way to both improve your blood sugar levels and to build more muscle. Muscle serves as a blood sugar sponge and can help improve body composition to make it easier to achieve weight goals.
