@@katbunn957 Because everyone's different. If I don't get a lot of carbs, I starve. Carbs are fuel for the body. Some people need more than others. Just eating fruit and vegetables to get my carbs is a non-starter for me. Others eat just a few carbs and they balloon up.
@MrBilld75
@MrBilld75 11 месяцев назад
@@theplasmacollider6431 You don't need carbs really. There is no such thing as "essential" carbs. Essential fats and proteins, absolutely. You will die without them. You don't die without carbs. Here's the thing, at any give time, there's about 2.1 grams of carbs/sugars required by your system and coursing though it. Now, mind you, those do go up during intense exercise, but generally, about 2-3 grams of carbs./sugars are required. There's this thing, called gluconeogenesis. Turning fats into sugar. So, on a high fat diet like Keto, as long as you're getting enough fat, you can make whatever carbs you need. There are many levels/variations of this kind of diet too. Like "modified" keto, it's keto with a bit more carbs. and no ketosis. Some people cannot handle straight keto and must modify it. Like the CEO of the American DIabetes Association. She manages her Diabetes with modified keto. And the A.D.A. endorses low carb. high fat diets. Fredrick Banting treated Diabetic patients, before inventing insulin, with the kind of diets. Rollo proved it with the carnivore diet, way back in 1797.

I know i have diabetes, but in order to convince the HMO quacks i have to deal with, i must STOP taking ANY Gymnema Sylvestre for 3 months, and get another A1C!!! That will be early July! They will see my A1C in the mid 6 range, or even a 7. i haven't totally omitted all sugars and carbs from my diet, but i did cut down drastically, for mainly weight management. I also exercise everyday. I cannot wait til July!

Following Dr. Berg's recommendations starting in 2017, I've done all of this. Got rid of the sugars, the grains, the processed oils, fruit except a few berries; lost weight, lost all the pain I was carrying around in my body, lost my inflexibility, lost my vision blurriness, lost my skin tags and brown armpits, lost having to go to the bathroom numerous times at night, lost my sugar and carb cravings, and I'm 65. I feel better now and am thinner than I was after 8th grade. I know I was having hypoglycemia already at age 6 in first grade; now I can go 72 hours without eating and not even notice. Great advice in your video. Thanks.

Good video! Two months ago, my A1C level of 5.8 put me into the prediabetes category. Even though I thought my doctor was going to suggest something like Metformin when he said I needed to address my blood sugar, he instead said I needed to do the following: No more sugar or hidden sugars; no more bread; no more potatoes; no more rice; only eat foods that were not considered "high" on the glycemic index. Additionally, walk 30 minutes a day for at least 5 days of each week. So that is what I have done. I've already lost 12 lbs and some of my morning aches and pains. The only thing I've really missed is my craft beers, as beer is "liquid bread" when it comes to the glycemic index (however, he did approve of my nightly nightcap of a shot of bourbon). I'm hoping my A1C test in October will also reflect the results of my efforts.

@@williardbillmore5713 An A1C test result reflects one's average blood sugar level for the past two to three months. Specifically, the A1C test measures what percentage of hemoglobin proteins in blood are coated with sugar (glycated). Anything that prevents the high spikes in blood sugar, to include not eating foods that spike the blood sugar, will help lower the A1C. AS for the exercise and weight loss, they will help too. When it comes to exercise, it is better to do so right after eating than to wait, say two hours, after eating.

You said you eat artificial sweeteners. Those are actually worse for you than natural cane sugar or honey or maple syrup. Some of them are neuro toxins and they kill your gut biome. They are created to be highly addictive. Why not try club soda? I add a little tart cherry juice and honey, or a really strong ginger infusion and lemon for an adult ginger ale.

I was diagnosed with Type II about just shy of 2 weeks ago. My A1C was over 10, my blood sugar was coming in around 368. I'm 11 days out from that, my blood sugar has been under 120 consistently. Basically what I'm saying is I reversed Type II in under 2 weeks. How? I cut out sweet tea/lemonade and went to coffe with stevia and spring water sometimes with squeezed lemon. My food has been a cut above from what many would be used to. Steel Cut oatmeal with fresh fruits or Eggs and Sausage or Ham steak for breakfast, Enchilada Casserole or Chicken/Beef Kafta for lunch, often with pico de gallo or tabouli (slightly less bulgur wheat than usual), and Pork chops with broccoli (salted and sprayed with lemon juice), okra, whatever. If I need a snack, I eat roasted peanuts from the shell and cashews. I try to keep my plate ratio 1/2 veggies and 1/2 meats with some fats. I walk around the block twice a day (about 20 mins each time) and do 3 sets of 4 arm exercises with 10lb weights. I did all of this in the midst of fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Lung Cancer and Myelodysplatic Syndrome. You can beat diabetes into submission if you're willing to be disciplined. Just shop the produce and meat section, avoid the starchy vegetables and sweet drinks and you'll be surprised.

Some authorities think that intermittent fasting is unnecessary. If you don't eat between dinner and breakfast, that's almost 12 hours, and as we know, the first meal of the day is called break fast. If you drive sugar and starch way down in your diet, make sure you get enough protein, leafy greens and regular vegetables every day, with about 4 ounces of cheese, and a little cream allowed, you'll feel like $1 million, and all your blood numbers will be correct. You can have sugar every once in a while. Just not frequently.

CARBONATED WATER ALONE isn't bad for you, sodas with phosphates and other added ingredients aren't okay. 17) alcohol especially if already prediabetic 18) high fructose corn syrup, foods and drinks with added sugars 19) fast food Instead: - natural whole foods - no store bought processes foods - whole grain - intermittent fasting - HUGE BENEFITS FOR EVERYONE INCLUDING TYPE 2 DIABETES. It's one of the best things you can do but companies can't make money off it so Big Agriculture, Big Food and Big Pharma never mention it.

This seems unusual for age 20-somethings, with no bodyweight issues, and I wondered if it was due to the high use of seed oils for cooking in China...?? When viewing RU-vid Videos recently about the American expat and Thai Silk businessman, Jim Thompson, who mysteriously disappeared in Malaysia in 1968, I was reminded of this. After 20+ years of living in Bangkok, Thompson had developed gallbladder disease. When he walked away from the highlands villa while vacationing, his gallbladder medication was left behind. It was found in the pocket of his sports coat which was draped over the deck chair he had last sat in on the veranda.

When I eat 100gms of watermelon, my glucose peaks at about 8.1 in 15 minutes. Within 30 minutes, it is down to 5.2. If you wait for 60 minutes to test, you will miss the spike and assume the food has nearly a zero GI. Eat something and start testing at 5 minute intervals. Chart the results. Track the results and watch your body become less insulin resistant. That kind of feedback is invaluable. It also helps you decide on portion sizes for certain foods. Test more often if you want a complete picture. Waiting 90 minutes to test is a BAD idea.

Try testing at noon before eating to get a baseline, then it one food item you’re concerned about. Then test every 30 minutes to see how high you spike and how long it takes to return to your baseline reading. Make a log and keep track.

Natural fat is good even saturated fat (it can help you reduce hunger) Eating order can affect starch absorbtion. Eat fat and protein first and leave starch and fruits at last. Moreover, intermittent fasting actually helps reducing insulin resistance. If you want to find out which food increase blood glucose, get CGM wear on and see it yourself and you'll realize fat triggers the least insulin and protein triggers a bit more (yes, red meat triggers not much as others thought)
