I've been using the Adam T7 monitors for a couple of months now and have to say they are some of the best monitors I've used. The clarity and responsiveness is dope, the low end is tight and punchy, and the stereo imaging is pretty wide. Definitely worth the price they are asking.

Night and day... and your definitely gonna need a sub with the Yamaha not with the t7s. the Yamaha monitors will definitely wear on your ears because their flat.. they don't have that warmth like the Adam audio T-Series they are louder but not in a good way
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 6 лет назад
Interesting. I know it's all about preference. I'm definitely a fan of clarity and stereo image so I'd be interested to see what's up. But I do like not needing a sub. Not saying the Adam's are super bass heavy like a KRK or something, but a nice overall sound for sure. Gonna see if I can get a pair in to test out.

JAMEL RIVERS are the 70 Watts something to worry about compared to the 120 Watts on the Yamaha? Does that affect headroom? I'm about to order a pair of t7v but the 70 Watts thing it's what am worried about, I want then to use with an fractal ax8 (which I'm ordering tomorrow. What can you say about that? Thanks

Have you tried Eris-8 by Presonus, if so what’s your take on those compared to the Adams. I currently have those along with their 10-inch sub. I also have a pair of Yamaha’s HS7’s for a second pair. The way you described that sound, I’d consider trying the Adams in place of the E8’s.
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 6 лет назад
I haven't tried the Eris only the Scepter and R65, I prefer these over the R65 but give a slight edge to the Sceptre S6. However considering the pricepoint as well, I don't think anyone can go wrong with these T7s. They hold their own against monitors that cost quite a bit more easily.

As I mention in the vid, I dig the low end representation. Not over hyped at all, nice and tight and I no longer use my sub personally. Of course with a sub you can definitely get much deeper, but I don't feel like I'm missing much in day to day usage.

Did you like 'em better than the Presonus Sceptre S6 and S8??
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 6 лет назад
The sceptre had a slight edge for me, the stereo field was a bit wider on those even though the high end could get a lil harsh at times, not too much though. The S6 still probably my favorite so far but this are a very close second and I'd really have to have them at the same time to see which ones I like the most overall.

You know what's funny? If you are correct, that the T7V frequency curve has no big ugly hump at the low end before the roll-off, and no boost in the highs at all (like the A7X does), then the T7V may be the better speaker (out of the box) compared to the much more expensive A7X, which has been getting criticism because of its home stereo type frequency curve... Granted, you can clean that up with calibration software, but the software is too expensive - people would be better off just spending the combined amount of money on a Neuman or Genelec monitor that works right out of the box...
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 4 года назад
I haven't used the other ones so I can't compare. There's a slight noise floor on these that I would like to compare to the more expensive ones. I do dig these though.

Hi St Joe, I saw on the comments below that you preferred the Adams to the Presonus R65, just want the confirmation as I trying to choose between both as a second set. @SoundsAndGear 5 лет назад
I say go with your own ears, I felt the R65 were a bit too harsh in the high end overall for me. I liked them, but these were a bit more mellow to me. The PreSonus Sceptre are still my favorite monitors by far though LOL.

If you can hear them I'd say do that, you may like them lol. They weren't bad, and I like a nice bright high end, but just a tad bit too much for me personally after a while. Dope review was always. I bought this because of the big rave they were getting. When I plugged them up, I felt like reverb in the stereo image was a big issue because I did hear it as well. The sound was very direct like a line of sight kind of way. I was pushing the wet signal so far, i KNEW this was wrong lol. I plugged my Focal Alphas, and the Sceptre S8s (a whole different beast, i know) back up and I was able to hear the reverb image again the correct way.. I don't trust them Adams but maybe my hearing is getting bad or I'm used to hearing the focals

Word, that's strange for sure. For the record I LOVE the Scepter's, still my favorite monitors thus far. But in my setup, I was pleasantly surprised by the T7Vs, coming from my events as well as KRK and others. I definitely feel like monitors have their own sounds so I'd say if you don't like the sound, trust your ears!

I have T5V, great monitors for the price, I've have been using them for over a year now. Theres a smaller problem that still bothers me, and that is the white nosie that the speakers them self are generating (through the amp). Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Like maybe bying hum destroyer or som kind of ground loop?
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 3 года назад
Thanks, and yes I agree, the longer I've had them the more noticeable the noise floor is for sure. I don't know, I've dealt with that issue on many monitors and haven't found a great solution. I use power conditioning, etc, but still, some just have more of a noise floor than others.

The Sceptre is probably my favorite monitor so far, I feel the Scepter stereo imaging is a tad bit wider/open, but these can definitely hold their own against those. And I don't hear any harshness at all on these.

thanks for the review. Another review said these monitors have a distinct hiss sound when turned on - was this true in your experience?
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 4 года назад
Thanks for watching! There is an audible noise floor that I've noticed the more I use them, however I tend to notice this in most powered monitors I've tried to some degree. I always try to make sure I'm plugging into clean power/power conditioner. I've tested previous brands before (some well known, some less known) that were unusable to the point I sent them back. There is some noise present here but not enough (at least on my pair) to make them unusable. I would definitely suggest trying them in a store first if you can.

Hi! Would you recommend this Adams for use with a fractal Ax8? Is 70 Watts something to be worried about? I was about to order either JBL 308 or Yamaha hs8 when I saw this new model. Where I live there are no way to test them before buying so I'd really appreciate your opinion in this subject... I'll only use it at home... But jbl and Yamaha are 120 Watts and Adam only 70... Am I doing the right choice? By the way, compared to JBL you say the t7v sounds better right? I'd like to read everything you could tell me about it. Thanks!!!
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 6 лет назад
I am not familiar with the Fractal and I am trying to get a pair of Yamaha HS7 in to compare. I really did like the sound of the JBL I they have a nice wide stereo field. I think the bass is a little more defined here. It's really hard to say as I haven't owned the JBL just worked on them in a few places.
@Vesperoth
@Vesperoth 6 лет назад
SoundsAndGear what monitors are you comparing the Adams with?
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 6 лет назад
Currently have Event ALP 5, before that had KRK, also had PreSonus Scepter in here for a while (favorite so far). I've also worked on the JBL 3 series and the Yamaha HS8 at different times, but not long enough to really do a good comparison on those.
@Vesperoth
@Vesperoth 6 лет назад
SoundsAndGear being a blind purchase, would you recommend the t7v? Or should I go with Yamahas or JBL?
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 6 лет назад
I honestly think they are all pretty good just depends on your tastes. I don't have any complaints about the Adams but like I said, I haven't spent a lot of time wtih the other two in my own setup. From what I've heard, the Yamaha has a pretty bright/clear high end and flatter bass. The JBL is pretty balanced with a nice stereo image. I don't think you can go wrong with any, but I think the Adam may have a bit more definition in the low end than the other two if that's important. You don't really need a sub with them with the other two they pair well with a sub.

Hi, i have these and it feels like the bass is so flat, barely there. I turned up the LF to +2 but still its very little bass. I have them setup the way you should and i'm rocking them with the PreSonus AudioBox iOne. Audio is so good but its just the no bass that is the issue.
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 4 года назад
Yeah, depends on your tastes. I don't want the bass to be overhype, just enough so I can hear it properly, there are other monitors that have more going on in the low end.

Fyi these monitors are not very good for mixing/mastering. Sound stage is very bad and many instruments get lost in the mix. The audio sounds good but that doesnt mean its a good neutral mixing monitor. Yamaha hs5-hs8 kills these by far.
@SoundsAndGear
@SoundsAndGear 6 лет назад
Thanks for watching! As with all sound tech, monitors choice is very subjective and depends on a wide range of things. They sound pretty neutral to me, there may be a lil bump in the low end compared to the Yamahas but not hyped in my opinion compared to some of the others I've used or owned. Also translate pretty well between these and my favorite headphones (yamaha mt8) which are pretty neutral imo also. I have not owned the Yamaha though, have heard them and worked with them, but I'd love to get a pair in my own setup and compare. Thanks for sharing!
