After watching Retroblasting’s videos about Indy’s fedora I understand that even the film makers had trouble recreating the magic of the Raiders fedora. That is a great looking hat.
It's hard to get a hat like that exported to the UK from the USA coz of customs charges I buy indy fedoras from Herbert Johnson in London and they will do you a bespoke made hat . Just like you mentioned your friend will make it from any movie or scene Herbert Johnson do the same coz I have ordered a hat from them and it's from the jungle and Cairo scenes from raiders .
Since Dan is pretty tall, 6'9, I used a 6" block instead of the 5.5" I typically use. As for the brim, I went with 3" front and rear and roughly 2 5/8" on the sides.
