UPDATE: Roughly 3 weeks with this amazing antenna in a pretty rural area some 50+ miles from main OTA towers (Louisville Ky). Most channels reached have been 21-good enough on this end. The darn thing is only on a 4 foot metal fencepost with a plastic tube for manual positioning. Today-Easter Sunday we ran a scan and to utter shock! 36 stations showed up after a channel search-way more than any other time for sure. FOR A FACT! Nashville Tennessee has to be over 100 miles and better away but there it was-WKRN-TV Chan.2 as well as Bowling Green Ky which is way beyond any 70 mile range. It eventually fell apart by noon and rest of the day but WOW! This antenna reach is STRONG!

I had one of these high in the air on a pole where I used to live and it got stations 75 miles away. It lasted through 3 hail storms and severe weather. I had to leave it as I could not find a man to hire to take it down! But it really is a great antenna.

Good vidio review of this antenna.Installed this model a while back in the attic of our single story home. Works better than any I have tried . We are a good 55+ miles from the Orlando towers and can't complain about the great number of channels we receive. It easily feeds 2 TiVos and 2 flat screens.

Want to take this time to pass along my thanks as well. After deciding on the ClearStream v4 from Amazon. They have the new Max and others but this one is proved the best choice. Living in a rural area almost exactly between Evansville IN & Louisville Ky and just west of heavily forested Hoosier National Forest. I didn't hold out much hope for but a scant few stations some 50 miles distance. This antenna not even mounted but situated 10 foot and suspended from a gutter overhang of all things outside the window completely surprised me at the distance it really pulls in! Properly mounted and directed am looking forward to a whole range of OTA channels in addition to the 10+ receiving from just hanging it out like that. This is a very well fashioned antenna. Of that I am 100% sure and also sure no one should marginalize the power of it. I bet a booster would really draw in stations. Oh, and by the way, none pixelated once directed right, but crystal clean reception from top to bottom. My sincere thanks for your video and recommendation.

Works well. I mounted mine on the eaves of my home (about 18-20 feet high) and I get 82 channels in the extreme north part of metro Atlanta USA

I actually bought the regular Max-V for about $70 at Walmart. Something I've noticed is that if you live in a building that is partially or fully made of brick, placement of a TV antenna has similar rules as a wireless router or cellular hotspot.

Did you notice any difference between the Clearstream V2 Vs this V4 ? Im located in Rhode island 02860. Also i was wondering if adding a LTE filter to my C2 would it help out or would it be more like a trial and error experiment. Anyone compared these 2 great antennas ?

It has a VHF high antenna but not VHF low. Not too good for channels 2 to 6.

I had a 2V a while back and it was the best as far as reception was concerned for stations 60 miles away, until it took a hit by lightning and blew into several pieces (probably because it wasn't grounded properly). I've since had an RCA small Yagi, and now a Channel Master CM 2018 which is a larger Yagi. That being said, I just purchased the 4V (the one with the reflectors is a better design than the 4V max that doesn't have them, so if you're considering it, buy one before they are gone) because nothing was able to match the performance of the 2V, and the 4V has higher gain for UHF stations. This will be the last antenna I purchase, and I hope it lasts for years to come.

that indeed is one of the Best indoor outdoor tv antennas one can buy... That said....its more for UHF and Struggles with VHF reception..they do make an Excellent VHF model (nearly same size as this antenna). if one is going to mount outside. there are many Far Superior antennas to chose from. but those are typically much bigger as well (not always though) This is east to assemble and fairly easy to mount

That's the version I tested for them that didn't have the self add-on dipoles that they added way later after I hounded them that "Yes there are still H-LVFH channels. And even now the manufacturer says it'll only guarantee HVHF (7-13). I started with the single two "Bow Tie" model that completely failed. Then they sent me this to try in my area that we new had VHF. They wouldn't give me a free set of the add-on dipoles when they finally came out with them for my help and insistence. But I did get Costco to stop selling these. In the meantime the VHF channels were made to move to UHF. Your ploy NBC & ABC failed. They thought they could get away with being at HVHF (High VHF 7-13) that's the reason for the channel switch in the 90's. Although others may disagree. There's a far newer version of this antenna out now. I wouldn't recommend it, until they put the VHF Dipoles on it. But even at $148-179, it's expensive. There are other less expensive antennas out there that will do the same thing.

DO THE PICTURE COME IN DISTORTED SOMETIME OR DEPEND ON THE OUTSIDE WEATHER CONDITION
@farmerbob339
@farmerbob339 4 года назад
Not the Digital Signal. It won't come in at all, it's either Yes or No, if there is that much interference. The HVHF (7-13) will get all fuzzy.

Bottom line- This is a pretty good antenna. But the rod for the VHF is probably a joke.
@MattTPlaysMusic
@MattTPlaysMusic 10 месяцев назад
Not really. It works to pick up high VHF (7-13). If you need to pick up a low VHF station (2-6), like ABC 6 in Philadelphia, then this won't work that well, but most stations moved away from low VHF because it was so problematic even prior to HD.

The 4V is $150 at Antennas Direct website. There's an initial investment but it does pay for itself if you're a cord cutter. Mine has been working great and it has to receive a signal through many large trees. They also have a lifetime warranty, repair/replace. If you live close enough to the towers you can probably get by with the 2V which is $90.
@CommodoreFan64
@CommodoreFan64 8 лет назад
Kurt Heimbuch Thanks I'll keep the 2V in mind if I ever get the itch too wire up all my TV's for a single antenna, but I'm close enough to most all my stations to catch them with indoor antennas on amps, and the only one I have some trouble with at the back of my house on my main TV is PBS(don't care much for it anyways, and I have it on my Roku boxes/sticks), as the tower is in the exact opposite direction from all the other ones which are in all in 2-3 square mile radius from each other. So again thanks :-)

PBS in my area uses VHF instead of UHF, that could be your issue with that. I need a better antenna myself. I have the smaller winegard (35mi) and it is good for the price, but very directional and pixelates in bad weather and such. In your situation it would probably work fine, about 35 bucks at Home Depot.
