I bought a camper in a sale and shock horror. No scissors.Ranger to the rescue. It's a shame they don't come with those delightful "Camping" logos anymore.
I love the Ranger it's a fantastic allrandr and a very nice size handle to use for working with i love the intro on this video what a wonderful place 😍🏞️ thank you 😊
great video. the current price in Slovakia for the VICTORINOX 1.3763 RANGER knife is €38, which I think is a good price. So I bought it. And I also bought the knife accessories VICTORINOX Lanyard RED 4.1824.1 for €0.75 and VICTORINOX Mini Screwdriver A.3643 for €1.50
Happy Sunday K4T . The Ranger is one of my favorite SAK's, I have the one with the Tent & Camping Logo on the front scale as part of my home tool kit which I upgraded with a red Plus back scale and I recently bought a 2nd one in a blister pack with plain red scales when it was on a short summer sale from my local Victorinox dealer . The reason I bought it apart from the sale price is simple, I have on order 2 sets of Silver Tech scales & I intend to convert this new red Ranger into a Silver Tech Ranger & use it as a carry model and the other scale set will be used on a new red scaled Mountaineer which I have bought on Ebay also cheaper than I can buy locally ( even with the shipping costs ) into a Silver Tech Mountaineer . I already own a Silver Tech Huntsman & a Silver Tech Climber & find the Silver Tech scales to somehow make the knives look so much better than the boring standard red scales they come with. I wish that Victorinox would market a larger number of SAK's with the Silver Tech scales and that they would sell a Silver Tech Plus scale too.
@@K4TAndMore Guillaume Happy Sunday, one pair of Silver Tech scales arrived today & I have already fitted them on the Ranger. It does indeed look beautiful. I dressed my new Silver Tech Ranger up a bit, added a Firefly ferro rod in place of the toothpick, replaced the standard Tweezer with a Red topped one, put a Red topped Map Pin in the pinhole under the corkscrew, put an orange tinder spiral on the corkscrew & a mini-screwdriver to hold it in place, changed the large 91mm split ring for the smaller 58mm sized split ring & attached a new blue & orange threaded paracord lanyard with a silver Nordic rune bead & put my knife in a 111mm artificial leather ( Skai ) black outside & red inside pocket carry case ( as it is too wide to fit in the regular 91-93mm cases I bought on Ebay ) and naturally I have tested it for ease of withdrawal from my pockets by tugging the lanyard several times from both left & right pockets, leaving the case in the pocket every time. I have not yet received the red scaled 91mm Mountaineer I bought on Ebay or the 2nd set of Silver Tech scales bought from another seller on Ebay as I ordered them much later than the first set, I hope to get them in a few weeks & convert the standard red Mountaineer into a unique Silver Tech Mountaineer & add it to my EDC rotation by mid October . It should fit into one of the hand made leather 93mm cases for 4 layer SAK's I bought on Ebay as its about the same width as the Huntsman & if not I have a spare 111mm case for it.
Another great overview and review. Love my Ranger. I have the camping logo one. Nice size, all the best tools, and every back tool that comes on the champ too! Can I ask what the song is at the start please?
Hi from Spain, nice video as always. I enjoy a lot your SAK custom videos. Here is my question : do you think it's possible to add the wood saw and the reamer from a Ranger to a Compact and make a fully functional two sides and three layers SAK ?✌️
Hi, Thank you very much. It is possible I think yes, but if I remember well the reamer is slightly thicker than the wood saw. So I don't know if it will fit really well.
I bought 3 Huntsman knives for about $18 each on sale and I wanted to buy Ranger, but to pay around $45 for just the metal file seemed kinda way too much to me. I still want to buy Ranger and Handyman, but probably some time later. Unfortunately, I never saw them on a big sale like Huntsman.
That was a great deal. Huntsman costs much more than $18, that's why the gap between Huntsman & Ranger seems that huge. In reality it's not, Ranger & Handyman are both really great models!
