For Soviets, artillery is the God of War. Join us for a build review of the Zvezda plastic 2S1 Gvozdika (Carnation) - a self-propelled 122mm howitzer. Mobile artillery like this was key to the Soviet offensive doctrine - often fielded close behind the assault troops. Let's see if these might add some punch to your Soviet forces.

I build and painted three of them for my syrians and I agree with you totaly . A great kit. Just the cables on the side could be a little bit more pronounced. But that's a minor complain and no dealbreaker at all. A clear recommendation for all who like plastic more. All other should think about them.

Shallow surface detail is a trademark of many Zvezda kits, but still a great kit and cheaper than the resin BF alternative.

I prefer plastic over fragile resin and weighty metal which is why i have been interested in Zvezda limited 1:100 scale. However as we approach 2023 who knows Battlefront might release all plastic kits of these existing kits?

I prefer plastic as well, so all my Carnations are Zvzeda.

Where do you buy these products from in Australia. The Ebay GST tax is hitting me hard these days so I am looking for a decent priced store.

I bought mine from Tactics in Western Australia.

Can this be bought online?

Yeah, check ebay, East European sellers usually have stock at a good price. Au/NZ online retailer MightyApe has Zvezda's Hot War range too.

I bought mine in Western Australia from Tactics, my local hobby shop. But I have bought a lot of Zvzeda stuff online from sellers in the Russian Federation and Latvia. My Latvian connections always come up with the goods!

@@FogofWar how about here in Asia?

eBay sellers like the ones in Latvia ship worldwide as far as I know. They certainly ship to Australia from Europe!

I built three of these but I really wasn't impressed. The snapfit design IMHO just makes things harder for people who know how to use glue. I'll try Battlefront's resin version next.

I would always choose plastic over resin - but luckily we have choice!
