Yeah this area is a weird mismatch of old freight cars, usually boxcars and tankers. in my city just outside DC, freight trains are uncommon and the majority of trains passing are Amtrak.
Never mind my other comment. I found it. It looks like you were near England Street in Ashland Virginia near the Amtrak station. I gotta put that on my list of places to visit
Cool video but I was trying to figure out where it is at. I was trying to think where this was in Ashland Kentucky but then it dawned on me that maybe this is a different state. which Ashland is this? Is it in Virginia?
Several potential Darwin award candidates for the people that were standing on the tracks. Its sad that now we have more knowledge than we have ever had in the history of mankind but common sense seems to be in short supply.
Why aren’t the police stopping the parade? It’s called “public safety.” Even better idea for parade organizers: have the parade go parallel on another street. That way parade and train have their rights of way.
Man y'all had a great day! I was hoping to get up there with y'all after Washington Dist. Invited me but I wasn't able to. Close call with the parade a couple of times too wow!
You know you can actually be finned and given a ticket for ignore a train. We heard and seen race or event directors or who ever was in charge get in major trouble for not following the rules. a few years ago a Race official was arrested and charged for manslaughter and attempted murder.because bicycle racers ignored the crossing and went through even though a train was coming a bunch of people were killed. When you do a parade this like you need to communicate and work with the rail road. Just a few years ago in Texas a Parade Marshal was charged for manslaughter because dozens of parade goers that were in the parade were killed and ignored approaching train.. Train can not always stop in time no matter how fast they are going.
If a bicyclist ran through a railroad crossing and got killed, how can you blame someone else for this? Same goes for someone in a parade who's too stupid to check to see if a train is coming at a crossing. Like comedian Ron White has said many times, "You can't fix stupid."
@@gregrowe1168 yep. It's like crossing the street without looking both ways then getting mad at the driver for hitting you. Since you didn't wait for the car to pass.
