It’s time to get tough! And what better place than Brands Hatch, for this Low Fuel Motorsport BTCC race on rFactor 2?
I’m going to be up against here, locking horns with faster drivers in what is always an ultra-aggressive series. I need to get my elbows out and fight a bit harder… no more Mr Nice Guy in these LFM rF2 races!

You get a real glimpse into the superb RF2 physics engine when that wheel flies off from the BMW, the way it rotates and wobbles in the air.

Yeah, it looks class, doesn’t it! I noticed that too. There’s a Cayman Cup race I did at the Red Bull Ring a while ago where a wheel bounces across track, and bounces off the front of my car as I’m passing. It looked insanely good! The vid is in my archive on the channel here

Thank you mate, yeah I was struggling to compete with those big BMWs (even hen I did remember the P2P!) so had to try anything I could to neutralise that advantage!

Ahh thank you David. Yeah these FWD cars to seem to be at a bit of a disadvantage compared to the RWD BMWs, so you’ve gotta do as much as possible to try and neutralise that advantage!

Thank you! Yeah all these bumps from behind in recent weeks that have cost me positions, I’ve tried to make myself a bit more prepared for them now. All the FWD cars seem to have a bit of a disadvantage compared to the BMWs, so I guess you’ve gotta roll your sleeves up to compete!

I love what you're doing and how you do it. I can not wait for more rF2 content from CR. This is how you make people not skip ahead and watch the entire video. Simply no boring parts. Soon my rig will be ready and with any luck i will be honored to race on the same grid with you.

Yeah, the dream combo. As soon as I saw it was on the schedule, I was eager to race it. Had the lurgy all week so luckily grabbed a chance this weekend before it was too late!

Well done! Don't sell yourself short. You can still be a Mr. Nice Guy by racing clean and fair, which by all accounts you seemed to do in this race. Doesn't matter if the guy behind is faster. It's up to him to get by you safely, and if he can't do so, then the position is yours. If by Mr. Nice Guy you mean just conceding a place instead of fighting for it... then yeah. But I'd rather think of you as a Mr. Nice Guy who is a Gentleman Racer and is fair and respectful of the other drivers and who races for the best position you can reach!

Thank you mate. In all the other races, I immediately crumbled as soon as I started getting bumped from behind. So the fact I held my nerve here, stayed tough and didn’t get bullied out of positions, ahhh that was every bit as satisfying as any win! 😃

Glad I could be of service! Had the lurgy this week so wasn’t sure I was going to get a race in, but glad I did these yesterday… very good, if a little bruising, fun! Cheers Tony. I also reinstalled RaceRoom and did an m235i race at Suzuka yesterday, that one was really decent. Will definitely be doing a bit more RaceRoom in the coming weeks

Thanks Nick, yeah I highly recommend the series. Participation isn’t great, it’s only really the 8.30pm race that draws in 20-30. I tend to do 4.30pm or 6.30pm, and usually get around 12-20.

Ahh yes I had a really unlucky DNF in that one… got hit from behind into the final corner, and although it didn’t make me crash, it pushed me forward so fast, I went too fast for my low gear and blew my engine! Really unfortunate! Hope yours went better!

Good job Chris and good result for your pace. And shame on the faster driver who touched you multiple times in T1 until he took himself out. Good to see you racing at Brands in rf2. Very sad I never saw you this week at LFM at Brands in an M2. We had an incredible week with awesome races, although we had big Wreckfests, too. Next week M2 at Imola. Awesome combo! Please think about it!

Ahhh yes, the M2 at Brands would have been my go-to choice for ACC this week, but I’ve been laid low with a bug that’s going around. So didn’t get any midweek ACC racing in like I normally would. It sounded like a great combo though. Looking forward to give that car another run, now I’m a bit more familiar with it 👍

Wow, good TC racing Chris, you were hella lucky after the start, when the black beemer had his moment and lost the wheel, he could have easily wiped you out in the space 😅

Yeah the BMWs do have a clear advantage, which I’m sure is why 80% of every grid choose them! The FWD cars are way more fun to drive though, so I’m happy sticking with the Toyota 😃 you’re right, most fun series in sim racing right now, I reckon!

Yeah, I had some frustrating races this week in BTCC at Brands. Hoping for a track more to my liking next week. I could also swear I get way more grip racing against AI in similar conditions as I do online. I don't feel that way with iRacing but somehow I always feel that with rFactor. Dunno.

Yeah I noticed similar when I’ve done practice laps offline. Could be to do with track or air temperature settings. Also, I noticed I had some braking and stability assists switched on in my settings. These assists are active in offline sessions, but get blocked in online lobbies. Worth checking your settings to see if you’ve got them set to Low or Full, as that will make a difference in AI races

Love the BTCC-Cars.. wanted to drive this week too, but seeing the grids with 80% BMW always made me stop signing in.. Interesting fact: As far as I know, the normal racing line on start finish is on the right side, near the pit wall till the start finish line where you change to the left side.. I mostly do so.

Yeah, pretty much everybody was choosing BMW this week… my grid was stacked with them. Clearly they’re much better here. The BMWs behind me were way faster, which is why I had to drive so defensively.

@@chrisrogerssimracing I have seen better, varied fields in your videos on some tracks.. but never got to see one myself at LFM. I drove at Croft a few weeks ago in a Cupra and managed to gain 5th position (with a bit help from some unlucky BMWs) battling an Astra, but as always with most cars beeing BMWs and Infinitis (which won the race). I think I saw your name too, unfortunately you had a DNF.

@@BarkeeperMoe Ahhh yes that’s right! I think it was a Friday evening race? That was when I tried Croft. I think I ended up clipping one of those solid Tyre stacks at the chicane and completely wrecked my car (similar trend to the first race in this video) 🤣 It does seem like the RWD cars still do have the advantage, sadly.

@@chrisrogerssimracing maybe it was on a friday evening, not sure anymore. Yes, unfortunately they still have an advantage - but the FWDs did come closer with the last update. But I also think that many people got into the RWDs then they were completely dominant.. I race the Cupra in a small league where they are trying to balance the RWDs.. the series just began and they try "only medium tyres for RWDs" and +10kg for the BMW. The field is approx. 1/3 RWDs to 2/3 FWDs. Well it helped, but maybe a little bit too much. Temperatures in Donington (first race) were pretty low so the medium tyres did take a long time to work, we'll see how it works on Snetterton next time.
