Hello Wim and Anje ( I’m not sure how to spell it? Sorry! Anyways, I recently found your channel and have very much enjoyed all your videos! I love the boat work and projects. My parents immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands before I was born, so you remind me of them and I can pick up a little of the Dutch language when you speak it. ( Klein beetje, haha ) Okay, thank you for sharing, it’s very inspirational. Looking forward to more and all the best! James
Haha, almost right - Wim and Anja 🙂 And good to hear you enjoy our videos. So, your parents really LEFT the Netherlands, because they even didn't really teach you Dutch, right? I can imagine. At the same time we emigrated to South America, about seven other families in the elementary school of our children left the country to different parts of the world, also to Canada, to have a nicer, better future. Funny thing is that one of their children later married one of our children when they both returned tot the Netherlands to study. But okay, you still understand some Dutch, then. It would be easier to do the videos in Dutch, by the way, but almost nobody in this world speaks our ugly language, haha! And yes, there will be still more videos. I really need to crunch our more of them! All the best to you to! Wim
@@DoubleUThings My parents only spoke Dutch to each other when they didn’t want us kids to know what they were talking about… haha, but kids are smart, and we figured it out! Your English is excellent and I enjoy the occasional subtitles because hearing the Dutch language to me is sentimental. Ok, thanks for your reply; it’s interesting how things work… with how people move around and meet! Sometimes it’s a small world even though it must seem massive travelling on a sailboat!
