If he was a presenter this year at the Oscars we would be talking about how Smith slapped Gervais on stage. Jada would still be a serpent without a sense of humor edging on her little attack dog
@@serantiepretorius3489 he wouldn't have done that to Gervais. I'd bet you money. In fact, I'm willing to bet he wouldn't have done that to anyone that was his size, cause the dudes a coward lmao he's a joke. A meme. Old news. Let him SoyBoy to his cheating, sorry ass wife, who also happened to sleep with her sons best friend (22), and like 5 other men? Lmao like...bitch slapping someone as little as Chris Rock over a shit joke....and not even getting punished for it, should tell you everything.
@@redmoneylady2213 lol true. I saw an interview that Ricky said he wouldn't have made a joke about her hair.. he would have said something about her infidelity
See… I like Robert Downey Jr, but for him to be offended and call out Ricky’s jokes as “mean spirited” and then proceed to make creepy jokes about wanting to sleep with all of the best actress nominees explains exactly why all of those millionaires NEED people like Ricky Gervais to bring them down a notch or two off their high horses. What a joke, indeed.
Seemed to me like it was a bit about how in order to win these awards you'd have to sleep with the producers first. So basically a Weinstein joke before it was common knowledge. I could be wrong tho, the delivery wasn't great but that seemed to be the joke.
Just like Top Gear and many other good shows, you can’t take out the best part of a show because someone gets offended and think there won’t be consequences in terms of viewership
True u can see some take it as what it his a joke with some truth init. and others u can just see on there face that at the end of the day the truth they carnt take, loved the one were he really let them have it calling them perverts and going on about all the people getting jail and so on think it was 2016 might be wrong p.s legend say,s it the way it his and his work speaks for its self 👏
Ummm cuz theyre actors and Ricky is a comedian...weird comparisons. Comedians are all about thinking outside the box, improve and entertaining while Actors are given instructions, stunts and lines from directors. Completely different and weird comparison bro...
@@er4din903exactly. Ricky is a comedian, this is his nature. While the Actors its their nature to follow scripts and directors ministrations. I agree, Not really in line with comedy at all
A lot of actors have zero personality. They’re just incredible at one particular thing. De Niro is one of the worst interviews. He is boring as shit. But he’s an incredible actor
I love how whenever an actor tries to slam Ricky back they stutter. They’re visibly flustered. One thing Gervais understands about live comedy is there is no take 2. These actors crash and burn without a safety net and it’s marvellous.
I cringed so hard when Bruce Willis tried to insult Ricky. Jokes (burns) never work if you’re coming from a place of being butthurt. And Robert Downey’s disturbing and awkward monologue was truly awful, just like his failed attempt at calling out Ricky.
In all fairness he has had months to write his material and these guys have to come up with a rebuttal on the spot, and they’re not professional comedians. It’s still hilarious.
I love this man. Just seeing how happy he was walking out on stage knowing he’s about to roast, offend and possibly ruin some celebs night is just hilarious.
Sean…they are such pansies, if they’re so easily insulted! The face on Hugh Laurie, when he was mentioned…I will never see him the same way (I never watched HOUSE)…pathetic!
@@Adam-yu5zj Well, I grew up in Communism, and I’m not 80…the only way to vent was to make fun of everyone and everything. Sarcasm was the only way to survive! Our actors were idols for us watching them insult the Communists, and the bosses who were idiots. The PC police in the Communist Party couldn’t do anything to actors. I laughed myself off watching Rowan as BlackAdder and the (I forgot the name) police episodes.
i think its mostly because he doesnt give a shit, he makes a ton of money off the office and most likely did this job because he thought it would be fun not for a pay cheque
Best bit is that's actually Ricky bringing everyone together and lightening the mood. Great presenter and great sense of humour , reminding all not to take things too seriously at times...
@@90vice62 Johnny Depp is known for never watching the movies he acts in. He said he only watched one or two "Pirates of the Caribbean" because of his son Jack asked JD to watch with him when he was a kid.
“You could be a little Asian child with no possessions but when you look at a picture of Angelina Jolie you’d think mommy” 😂😂😂😩 that joke had me rolling
This guy shoots an arrow through the heart. This is comedy mixed with honesty. The Hollywood actors look fearful and cringing in their seats. Keep up the good work Ricky.
Because they take themselves very seriously this is why they always feel the need to comment on this politically, as if they have any fucking clue whats going on out there outside there bubbles
@@peacebeyondpassion2 I'm not sure? It looked serious to me. Those turkeys they call stars didn't shine too brightly that night, they were nervous as hell.
I recently was able to see Ricky at the Hollywood Bowl and he was hysterical as usual. First of all, he understands completely how ridiculous the entertainment industry is and how so many actors believe that they above us “regular people” and show their true colors which often involves an inflated sense of importance. Ricky tells it like it is and because he has nothing to lose, anyone trying to cross him will fail miserably. Ricky is a true genius, animal rights advocate and honest down to the core! The world would be a better place, if we were all more like him.
Each time I watch Ricky Gervais, it's funnier every time he's speaks so much truth on the audience it's hysterical 🤣 applause to him what a beautiful job!
I was not suprised. Ricky is just a much better comedian and unlike Rock he knows that certain lines cannot be crossed such as making jokes about peoples medical conditions.
@@billybizar idk the same thing you are watching but Ricky said all of them here friends with Epstein and that they are all scum right in front of them. Rocks joke was pretty tame.
the Tim Allen joke is still one of my favourites. It's just the timing and the way he looks at the back of the card looking for something that isn't there
Ricky said the joke wasn't meant to demean Tim Allen, but to point out that anybody's resume would suck next to Tom Hanks. He also said he regretted telling the joke that way. I earned a lot of respect for him and that explanation.
That Tourist joke gets me every time. No words, just a genuine laugh at the irony and he waves himself out of there. Depp is absolutely perplexed. Absolutely brilliant.
I like how he physically gets more comfortable as the show progresses; he takes his tie off, unbuttons his collar, his coat is off...he must be drunk as a skunk by the end
I need to watch this every few weeks to remind me there is justice in this world. No one comes close to his brilliance. And no one skewers Hollywood this well.
I've been watching several of Ricky Gervais' compilations and I have noticed something. Every close up of an actor shows that nervous smile. They are laughing at his joke or accepting a small compliment he made BUT they are waiting for that other shoe to drop.
I know most of them couldn’t deal but I thank Ricky for taking the piss out of those of the ‘overstuffed golden’ crowd that couldn’t take a f***ing joke!
This is how it should be. If you’re making millions being famous, then you gotta sit through this once or twice a year and Ricky is doing the hammering.
I love that he used a tiny joke about Charlie Sheen to segue into totally explaining in great detail what Sheen did, which everyone already knows, and Ricky knows they know, but he does it anyway.
This comedian slammed so many actors and was so funny !!! He never got hit or slapped. Everyone knew his job was to be funny and roast everyone in the crowd.
When the drink is waiting on the podium, you know who is gonna stand there. The only person brave enough to stand the truth against whoever. Salute Ricky.
Amazing that they kept bringing him back year after year, and that he kept slipping exquisitely the knife between their ribs on each outing. The Fool says exactly what we're all thinking. The shadows are mere subjects to our pleasure and approbation.
I love how he respected Mickey Rourke. One of the most underrated actors. Everyone has seen him and don't even think about that its him when he plays a villain. Like when he plays the villain in Iron man 2 (epic performance) Film tip: Bullet 1996 with 2 Pac. The Last Outlaw 1993... Those are 2 movies no one has seen basically but they are super
he was asked why he didnt host the 2018 one, I think he was asked to do it but he said in an interview that if he hosted the 2018 Golden Globes it would end his career because he wouldnt be able to stop himself and go overboard
Unparalleled. For me it is a cultural thing. British humour lands hard in America maybe because US society is so trapped in the confined space between liberty of speech and deep rooted puritanism
I wonder if his 'victims' had any idea that night that his presentation would end up being watched so many times and so many years after the event and most of his jokes are still so accurate today. His roasts are in fact overshadowing the entire ceremony and the award winners are already long forgotten while his jokes of this night will still be appreciated for a very long time to come....
🤣😂🤣👌🏽 Honestly, that line is comedy...GOLD! I don't think anyone took that in...BUT shucks! Had me rolling on the floor when he said that and the fact that no realized what he said LOL He had mentioned this on some talk shows couple of times as well and it never gets old when he explains it 🤣
