The most incredible thing about Ricky hosting the GGs is hearing laughters coming in multiple waves, not all at once. Like some of the audience was waiting to see if they were allowed to laugh.
I think it takes some a little longer to get the joke, most actors are not the sharpest knifes in the drawer and besides: Americans are famous for speaking only one language: their own, British is difficult for them to comprehend :-p
You think court jesters ridiculed the courts? They were fools that I highly doubt embarressed the powerful. Ricky is worth like 200 million that helps too
That performance by Ricky was legendary, his whole performance that night was a rare treat, he nailed every aspect of the movie industry and the double standards by which they operate from. I know that he’ll never get invited back to host another movie award night, but this will go down in history as a pinnacle moment in television history.
@@jasoncarlton7099 Yeah ...it's INSURRECTION to vote Democrat. Democracy WASN'T invented just so traitors could go an' vote Democrat. Lock 'em ALL up!! (That makes sense, yeah? ...No spelling errors?)
Imagine 5 years ago, he was healthy enough to sexually harrass women, and be at rewards, laughing.. Now he is pretending to be old and sick, to get leniency in jail..
Yeah well lots of his victims are in the crowd too. Gaga is a rape victim from way back too but that is the culture everyone must pretend all is well don't rock the boat...
how do eyes show 'fear', exactly? It's like you are so eager to see evidence of guilty expressions, that you are imagining something that is likely not there.
@@leahnicole1923 Leah? Deer in the path of oncoming cars tend to leap to safety as soon as they realize that they are in danger. How much 'leaping' do you see in the crowd here?
Whenever I am feeling blue, Ricky Gervais is one of the first "helpers" I turn to in order to change my mood. I wish I could tell him that. He is so irreverent. Some of the stars can't laugh at themselves, and I enjoy seeing that, as well. It takes a lot of courage to poke fun at mega stars. Kudos to you Ricky. You have me in hysterics. I have watched After Life more than once. I recommend that and wish a new series would come out.
Can totally support what you say. I've seen his monologues many times before and now had the urge to watch again. Every time it's like I am watching it the first time and I laugh myself off. He is such a brilliant man. I wish he would host more award shows...
@@alicjab9119 I'm curious. Why did you watch it in German? Are you bi-lingual? Do you live in Germany? I know this is absolutely none of my business. If you forgive me for asking, I will forgive you for not answering. :) A friend and I spent three wonderful weeks bicycling in Germany some time ago. We hiked as well. It was an incredibly wonderful time. We both tried to learn German before we went. At one time, I was quite fluent in French, and I envy anyone who can watch foreign films without reading English subtitles, if they are Americans. I wish I had had opportunities to learn foreign languages when I was really young.
Well, remember when you deal with women who can do anything for the role, anything and there are 1000s to choose and you have the power. I don't blame him, they were calling him God aren't they.
@@granand Well, that’s generous of you I would say. I doubt all of these girls were just begging to suck him off. I dare say it was HIM who floated the idea first in EVERY encounter.
what high power ? i only see sad drugs addicts / pedophiles / attentions whores /scumbags /rapists ........that's why Ricky Gervais doesn't give a fuck about them at all , he know them !
@@offlinegamer6756 they have a huge leverage power, and it's not only actors, producers, directors, agencies, etc. Whether we like it or not, they do have power, but the dirty type of power.
His monologue is better than any movie I’ve seen in the last few years, I’m sure there’s decent film being made . I lost any passion I had for movies , if you’re an A list actor you become an activist / entertainer. Because being an interpreter of fictional dialogue automatically makes you an authority in world issues.
I gained at least a little respect for those in the audience that were genuinely laughing all along. They have at least some sense of humor and are able to put shows like this in perspective.
@@jimmurphy3287 Yeah, but Rickles was more predictable and not as self-depracating...I mean Rickles would never tell a joke about shoving a GG up his ass.
Nicola, have you seen his special on Netflix where he talks about the controversy afterwards about this? It is worth a month of subscription if you don't have it already. I'm absolutely on the side of people being able to identify however they need to be identified, but at the same time he's right. He's right. In the special he breaks it down and sprays mace in the eyes of the logic behind chastising him.

🙆🏻♀️ I love British humor. I look forward to every January, so I can watch Britain’s “Big Fat Game Show”. The old episodes of British chat shows and panel shows are the best!!
@@thopmsonsmith3256 Hi - how you doing today? I’m on an oil rig and need money for some equipment as I have bars of gold stuck in Nigeria. I think I love you my King, so could I borrow £1 million dollars until next Thursday please.
Absolute treasure. I have this, among other Ricky monologues, on my 'saved' list for a quick pick me up when some 'celeb' has been particularly nauseating 😃
I mean when he said he got paid the same as the 2 hosts combined, it kinda made sense. They were doing the exact same job, so it would be unfair to him if either of them got paid more than half, regardless if they were females or not 🌚
Fascinating to watch celebrities laugh at his jokes as if they’re finding it funny for the first time. They’re almost seeing the amusement in their own stereotype, but it also totally makes them uncomfortable. If only they knew Ricky Gervais spouts the worlds opinion of them. It’s all truth.
Well, at least he had a good time taking the piss out of all of them, while making them laugh without them knowing he has always ment what he said!!! Ricky Gervais, you are next to Great!!!
Right. As if they have no fucking clue. You do realize they’re all in the same industry as Ricky, yeah? Very, very few of them get legitimately offended. They’re rich, drinking, and being entertained while most of us work normal jobs. The fuck don’t they have to laugh about?
